Not a coffee joint but they have great coffee. Try their Ethiopian. Has a slight blueberry taste. You can get a 12oz and a cookie for $ 3.

Wow, my fiancé and neighbor have been raving about this cool place in J-Town they found to take ukulele lessons. Today, I decided to go and hang and listen. I sat in the back and listened to the lesson — the instructor sang as he instructed the class. I thought, wow, how awesome this guy is — what a great singer he is… He should perform! Then I realized dang, its Jason Arimoto — THE Jason Arimoto! He’s a very well-known, sought after musician! Can you tell, I’m so floored that Jason Arimoto is the instructor here? I had purchased his music a few years ago… a wonderful pleasant surprise to hear him here! My fiancé bragged to me he is also going to be taking private lessons from Jason. He told me the price, and I suggested that Jason should raise his prices. :)

Everything you could want in an ukulele store is here at U-Space. I kick myself for only finding out about the shop a few months ago. If you are an avid uke player, you know we only have less than a handful of fully dedicated uke shops within reasonable driving distance. We are very lucky to have this place. The assortment of ukes they carry may be the biggest I have seen among the So Cal stores from entry level to the higher end K brands as well as ukes from lesser known luthiers. The staff knows their stuff and are very approachable and willing to talk to you. I really like the coffee shop idea and that brings a very chill atmosphere to the place. It’s also a vibrant, younger crowd which I particularly like. Also, don’t forget you are in Little Tokyo! An amazing place with awesome food(go hungry!) and cool Japanese stores. This is fantastic because now you can drag your family there and call it a day visit to Little Tokyo and … whats this? A uke store? What are the odds? Works out perfect!

This is such an awesome place, if you are visiting Little Tokyo and enjoy music, definitely stop in to visit. Ukuleles and fresh coffee, what a great combination… there is a decent selection of instruments available, in a broad price range, as well as useful accessories. A friendly relaxing vibe, only slight gripe is somewhat unusual hours, not open on Mondays and closed by 5PM Saturdays. U-Space is the place to go for ukuleles!

U-Space is a wonderful low-key place for coffee and snacks while you browse through the awesome«ookeleles», or take classes. Everyone was super nice and patient with me when I asked some pretty rookie questions about the instruments. They even invited me to the Ukulele Festival on 4÷18÷2015… thought it was going to be held in the space. Wrong! It held on the large outdoor plaza outside… who knew that Ukes could bring so many people together! Totally cool!!!

Bomb espresso. Great folks. Hooked up an electronic tuner and soft case for my new uke super cheap. A happy place, for sure. Nice to come and practice a little. They’ve got a great selection of uke-geared music books to use & peruse. They’re looking to set the Guinness Record on Saturday, and I wish them all the luck. I won’t be able to be there, but hopefully YOU will. Record or not, this place definitely deserves a gold star. Come down and support this important cultural center!!!

U-Space is a great little ukulele store. Call before you go to check their hours and ask if there’s a class going on at the time you plan to shop. Choosing a ukulele would be challenging with students plunking a few feet away. Everybody at U-Space is nice, but Jason and Brad are particularly knowledgable, so talk to them if you can.

Wonderful place to see all kinds of options in ukuleles, try them, learn about them, and ultimately buy them. My husband got a great banjolele here for his birthday, after I called around asking«regular» music stores if they carried them. Many said«Yeah, we have one(ONE!)», a couple didn’t know what I was talking about. But Brad! I left him a voice mail, he called back and told me about the SEVERAL they had, and others he’d looked at or had coming in soon, the price ranges and what to look for in a banjolele. He had SO much information, things I didn’t even know to ask, and all of it right on the top of his head. When we got there, he spent a long time with my husband, showing him different styles, explaining the benefits of each, showing him how the thing was made, even! Really nice and knowledgeable guy. Husband got to sit and try them all out before deciding on one. Checked Amazon JUSTINCASE and the U-Space price was LOWER. Brad also gave him a great price on the case, so we walked out of there with a great instrument, and a great experience. And I got to enjoy some horchata-flavored coffee all the while. GO!

The people here are gems, just like the beautiful ukuleles they have on the walls; always helpful and patient. I bought my travel ukulele here, which was helpful when I was doing a bit of traveling before my first Christmas uke performance. Practice, practice! My trio rocked out on «Up on the Housetop»! I wish that I had been patient when I made my first ukulele purchase at one of the big box music stores. I could have bought one for much less money from U-Space, and it would have had the U-Space provenance. Wish I lived closer to them so I could take the classes.

Walked in randomly with my family on a Sunday afternoon, and a class was about to start. We stayed for the class, were encouraged to try multiple ukulele’s from the wall(including some of the most expensive ones), and ended up purchasing a wonderful travel ukulele that both of my boys(ages 8 and 12) love to practice on. An island vibe permeates this great shop. The sales experience is much better than comparable larger retail centers. Aloha!

Ukulele heaven, simply put. I’ve come here for classes, performances, special events, and of course for uke shopping. Every time has been a special treat. Brad, Jason & Patrice all greet you with a friendly smile, and their expertise on all things ukulele is beyond compare. And if all this wasn’t enough, fabulous coffee beverages as well! If I lived closer I’d make this a regular stop, just to enjoy a java while listening to the happy ukulele sounds.

Was wandering around Little Tokyo today and stumbled across this cool shop. Brad greeted us and answered any questions we had. If you would have told me earlier this morning that I’d be buying a ukulele I’d have said you were crazy! I wish I could tell you that visions of Jake Shimabukuro came to me when I first held the ukulele… but alas I am from an older generation… and grew up with Tiny Tim! Anyways, cool store! We look forward to learning how to play our new instrument!

This place is just plain awesome. Coffee and Ukulele? Easily two of my two favorite things under one roof. Jason and Brad are awesome. Really friendly, easygoing guys who are always up for a chat about music, instruments, and of course coffee. And, like me, they take the coffee seriously. They have great roasts and use the chemex process for the best taste. And they have a nice selection of Ukes from the solid lower priced Ohanas up to the classic Hawaiian built Kamakas and KoAlohas. I always look forward to stopping by U-Space.

My new fav ‘ukulele store! Coffee + ‘ukuleles = GENIUS! Brad and Jason are 2 of the most knowledgable, friendly, talented music store owners you are ever likely to meet. The selection is great from entry level to pricey and they will help you decide what would be the perfect instrument for YOU. Go visit and test strum a few ;) tell them Steven sent you. *also check out their Ventura counterpart«Anacapa ‘Ukulele»!

Super nice Jason showed me aloha the moment I walked in the store, about a minute before closing. He educated me on these cool instruments and helped pick out everything I need to start playing! Equally nice Patrice made me an iced, refreshing horchata-style latte. I am very happy with my new ukulele. It is solid wood and has a deep, rich sound. I asked Jason which uke would be the best value for the money under $ 200, and indeed it is a big red beaut! I haven’t named it yet, nor decided on its gender, but I have been following the Daniel Ho DVD he recommended with success. I played a simple song within the hour! ;) I expect to start classes soon; they are only $ 8.00 for group events, and $ 35.00 per hour for private lessons. They have a youth program and a community outreach which they are expanding in the DTLA area. I had a bit of difficulty finding it; it is in the same plaza as JAACC. There are definitely lots of lots and meters around for parking. They have a couple of sister shops in Cali too. If you want to start a new hobby, visit U-Space. Happy Strumming!
