Oh my… a hidden gem. So many good wines here and a nice variety. Very friendly to me and my wife. Nice and accommodating to my dachshund and they worked with us on bulk wine purchase. I believe man who helped us was named Bob and has been there for 15 years. If in area u need to stop by.

This place was probably the most fun winery on tour. Our server was absolutely hilarious and fun. They had some wines that no other winery had available. We took a clients, and they absolutely loved the Quartette. A nice place to relax and enjoy our lunch.

While the property is certainly stunning, I found the wines at Koehler to be just so-so. It’s definitely a cute place and I really wanted to like the wines more, but they just weren’t doing it for me. I felt as though the wine maker was playing it safe rather than trying to create something really distinctive. With all of that having been said, it still was a nice experience, especially when you factor in the experience of showing someone who’d never been to California the beauty of the area.

I really like Koehler wines. This Sunday, had another great experience here while enjoying the most spectacular weather we’re having. Love the huge open area on grass or under patio. People bring their well behaved kids and pups, picnics and blankets. Emus in the back are fun. You can hear their low tones from so far away. There’s another seating area in the back yard upstairs. Really spacious. Pourer was his friendly wonderful self. Super chill, relaxed atmosphere. Welcoming, warm interior We played cards, watched our dog play with a toddler, and sipped our wines until closing(5pm). I recommend. Most definitely worth a visit.

More than 10 years of visiting the Los Olivos area and we always come back to Koehler. This trip’s favorite was the 2012 Sangiovese, but our mistake was buying just one bottle on our way to Cambria — it was gone the first night. We made sure to stop on they way back to LA and fill the suitcase.

Love the vibe, love the wine, and of course I love their winery cats. I have a special place in my heart for wineries that grow everything on site. This seems to be rare. The central coast wines have a unique flavor, and I really appreciate all the wines from here. Their Riesling is amazing; maybe the best, but you can drive a few up the road to Rancho Sisquac to compare for yourself. If you can’t find a wine you like here, the Central Coast is not your place — head to Napa. I feel they truly embody the flavor and environment of everything a CC winery should be.

Cute little winery in Los Olivos area! I liked the outdoor backyard feeling this place has! There is room for your dog to run around and for the kids to play. Lots of chairs and grass. The building that does the wine tastings is very small, but nice. We came on thanksgiving weekend so the place was packed! The wine tasting special was $ 10 for 6 tastings and you get to keep your cute wine glass that has the winery name on it! Super cute. I would definitely recommend this place if you are ever in the Los Olivos(near Solvang/Santa Barbara) area!

Wine is subjective. But this review is on the home rentals that they also do through VRBO which we got to do for 2 days. First, the rooms, are SPECTACULAR. You get a whole house(we got the smaller one which was a LOT of fun, but the BIG one is awesome-er). You get your reign over the whole vinyard, can take walks, watch the sun set, wave to the hot air balloons the float above head, and you can do it on YOUR time. The owner gives you a garage door opener for the front gate so you can come and go as you wish. LIttle steep on price, but considering what you get, it is WELL worth it… Well be back.

This is our favorite spot in Los olivos. We grab some panino sandwiches, and come to their lovely outdoor space to enjoy a picnic. Dan, the manager, is always more than accommodating and friendly! And their wines are consistently great! Our favorites are the maga nera and the rebel, but all of them are delicious. We always bring our children and they are welcomed!

This winery not only has great wine but is dog friendly. Their picnic space is beautiful and they will pour wines that aren’t on their tasting menu if you ask. Dan is very generous with his knowledge and very friendly.

Service was pretty awful(none of the servers seemed at all interested in telling us about the wines, and were often difficult to even get to serve us), the pours were short, and the wine was, honestly, not all that interesting. The area is pretty and the wood fired pizza was fantastic, but not enough to make me want to come back.

We have been members for over 12 years now. We were members of too many wineries so we backed off but had to keep this wine membership. Great wine, great vibe, and Dan the Man makes it all so fun and makes everyone feel so important. We always leave there with a case of goodies when we go there. Love this place Oh and I forgot to mention, my husband is extremely hard to please

We ended up at Koehler this past weekend after purchasing the Foxen Summer Sippin’ Passport which was a ridiculous deal $ 20 for 20 tastings at any of the 12 or so participating locations along the trail. This gave us the opportunity to try places we wouldn’t have otherwise visited since we tend to hit the same places each time we come up. We stopped off here for our first time and it was a pleasant experience. We were first greeted by their ostriches near the parking lot. Love it! I then tasted a couple different reds and my boyfriend tried one or two whites. We made it a quick stop but did explore the grounds before heading out. They have a good amount of picnicking space. I wouldn’t rule out returning in the future although I definitely have my fav up here — we still like to visit other places from time to time throughout the day. Service was great! They’ll also have stone fire pizza for sale throughout the summer which usually would have drew me in since I love pizza and the food options are extremely limited out here but we have a new lunch spot we hit and tend to pack our own picnic other times.

This was a nice small gem in our guided wine tour. Dan was friendly and knowledgeable in a carefree personality. We enjoyed our tour lunch on their grounds that back up to the ostrich property. I really liked their crisp Chardonnay we drank one at lunch and bought another for home. I am excited to bring family and friends soon.

You know, it’s sad when an employee hurts your brand. I really wanted to love this place, and in many ways I did. Great wines, very cool landscape with wonderful areas to sit outside and enjoy the day, and for the most part, seemingly nice employees. Unfortunately, we got the short end of the service stick. We were«taken care of» by a foul-mooded blonde woman(Koehler owners, if you’re reading this, she’s in her 30s, I believe, and gosh I wish I had a picture of her… P. S. she was working the counter on Saturday, June 28). I’m not going to say she totally spoiled our visit here, but she certainly made it seem like she was doing us a favor just by taking our credit card. After reading some other reviews, I’m wondering if Injae K, a fellow Unilocal reviewer below, had the same person. Now, the discerning reader might think that perhaps I just had too many vinos and my memory is a little foggy. Nope. Dead sober. Walked in the door, hadn’t touched a thing, got to deal with Miss Crankypants. Actually I think I would have enjoyed her company much better if I had a few swigs in me at that point. No such luck. Speaking of swigs, after we purchased several tchotchkes, a cheese plate(meh) and four glasses of wine to the tune of well over a hundred bucks, she gave us the WORST. POUR. EVER. If an ant was on fire, I wouldn’t be able to put it out with what she gave us. I mean, I know there’s a drought on in California, but… As someone who’s spent quite a bit of time working in the service industry, I know what it’s like to deal with customers sometimes. And, to her credit, she had just taken care of a group of 60 who came to the winery right before us.(How do I know that? Because she sat there complaining about it to her coworkers while we waited for her to pour us a glass.) But let’s get some perspective here. I tended bar at a very popular NYC restaurant, and I often had three people deep, yelling for booze for hours on end. I know pressure, and pouring wine at a vineyard for pleasant folks touring the countryside is not pressure. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but she certainly didn’t have to put a little black cloud on our otherwise sunny experience at Koehler. We’ll be back, but we’ll be very careful which end of the counter we approach next time.

Surprised this isn’t more highly rated. The selection is vast. They taste as good as any in the area. The building and ground are incredibly magnificent and worth the visit alone. Look around. Look everywhere. Each angle each position on the terrace has its own incredible view. The tasting room has your choice of 12 different wines to try. Each one is quite good. Christine the wine pourer is hysterical, much like a standup comedian. She is way too much fun. Enjoy this Winery it’s well worth your time.

Out of the five wineries we visited, this was the only place that left a bad taste in our palates. This was my second time visiting Koehler. Last year, I remember having a pleasant time. So, I was the one who recommended we go here. The service was awful. Our pourer looked uninterested, she would pour the wine, say it’s a cab or a riesling and leave the tasting room. She didn’t explain the taste or wait to answer any questions. She made us feel like we should just down our mediocre wine and get out of there. She would come back, pour the next wine, leave for 5 min., come back, pour the next wine, and leave for 5 min. Other wineries we visited, Firestone, Curtis, Zaca Mesa, and Foxen, were amazingly friendly, all smiles, explained every aroma, notes, and flavors of each wine. They were very welcoming and happy to make conversation. This is the way to help more people learn, appreciate, and understand the artistry of wine making and tasting. And the way to do business.

My advice is to gloss right over the $ 10 standard tasting list and«splurge» on the $ 15 premium list. TOTALLY worth the extra bucks. My fiancé got the standard list, and I liked all of my wines much more than his. The only wine I liked from the standard list was the riesling, which was very drinkable and not too sweet; 3 of the girls in our party took a bottle home. I thought all of mine were quite good, with special shoutouts to the quartette(refreshing white blend), pinot noir(and I’m not even a fan of pinot!), and reserve cab sauv. I really wanted to take all three home, but the trip up to Santa Barbara made me too poor to make any more purchases. Sad times. There’s space for at least 20 people to taste indoors comfortably, plus there’s a patio bar and picnic tables outside. Pretty trees for shade. There’s also a cute emu(I think?) to keep you company =D

Love me some Koehler! OK, we were back and had to stop. Today … so many great wines. Keep getting better and better. Add to that — Viognier case special for $ 99? Sav Blanc special for $ 99? AMAZING!
