Have ate here twice. Food is a little overly priced and it takes about 20 minutes for them to make one sandwich. Solid 3 stars because the finished product is delicious.

Service is absolutely terrible. Over 25 minutes to make a sandwich. Place was pretty empty when we walked in and ordered, then after waiting 10 minutes guy behind the counter then yells out that it’s going to be 25 minute wait. Not apologetic or any sense of rush. Why didn’t you tell me before I ordered???

I’ve had lunch or dinner here a handful of times. When you do get your food, which definitely takes longer that it should, it does taste really good. The last two times I’ve ordered the Super salad, I was told they are out of quinoa, which is a necessary part of the salad. So I had to order something else. My friend ordered the Super salad on a different day, and was told the same thing, no quinoa. Do they know there is a Ralph’s grocery store next door? I’ll bet they sell quinoa. The employees need customer service training, it’s lacking. I miss O’Steeni’s.

Delish! I think this place is a chain? But it’s good and freshly made! Got a club sandwich, pastrami sandwich and chicken salad with wing sauce. Everything was gigantic and delicious. Although a bit pricey considering it’s a sandwich(~$ 10 each), it’s really really good. Chips/sides and drinks are extra. This one in Los Osos also serves beer and often has patio music on Fridays . 3 stars because it’s kind of expensive.

Called them at 4:45 on a Saturday afternoon to order a sandwich; their hours on Unilocal say they are open until 8:00. The person who answered the phone said they were closing in 15 minutes and didn’t offer to take my order. Don’t know if they have changed their hours or they just decided to close early that day.

Delicious Sandwiches, fun atmosphere killer game room with air hockey! I would recommend the Pig Kahuna sandwich or the Malibu. Shark bite sandwich is delicious too! It’s really hard to go wrong. The sandwiches are HUGE and really can be had for two meals. Sometime they have bands play on the weekends. It really is a fun family atmosphere unlike anything else in Osos. We locals love to eat and hang out here!

Cool vibe in the place but who has 30 mins to wait for an over priced sandwich? Seriously the time on the receipt shows 12:38 and I got my sandwich at 1:07… And it isn’t even busy. Wish I would have known it would take this long before I left a tip on my receipt.

It’s been 20 minutes and we are still waiting for just one sandwich, no it’s not busy at all. First time here and probably the last… I have not yet had a chance to try the food yet but when I do I will continue this review. THIRTYMINUTES!!! It took 30 effing minutes to get our food! Tastes good, definitely not worth the wait or money… can I get a refund please??? On top of that the workers were talking and flirting with their friends on the other side of the counter and the restroom was not maintained.

If you want an overpriced/low quality sandwich that a monkey could prepare faster, look no further then Beach Hut Deli. The only reason they get two stars instead of one is that they do have an air hockey table, which is a precious commodity in a town the size of Los Osos. So in conclusion, this place is a great spot to meet up and play air hockey. Just avoid the sandwiches.

My wife and I were looking for a new place in our area for a good sandwich. The Beach Hut Deli was recommended to us. As you walk into the restaurant the atmosphere is clean and modern. Awesome there is a TV at every booth. Looking at the sandwich menu I was a little apprehensive at first because the prices seemed a little high. I ordered the 12″ Woody sandwich. One of the best sandwiches I’ve had. It’s not your regular 12 inch subway cheap sandwich. It’s huge, filling and quality ingredients. The bread is soft but holds up well with all the ingredients they pile on. The ingredients were fresh and delicous. They offer a great selection of on tap beer and stay open till 10 Friday and Saturdays which is good to know(especially since everything closes down so early in our small community). Glad we followed through on the recommendation and will definitely be back. One side note; the front entrance facing the parking lot is very hard to distinguish if they are open due to all the posters covering the window and only one neon sign(we almost kept driving because we thought they were closed, which seemed odd on a Wednesday). 5 stars!

Tried this place for the first time yesterday when I went to meet up a buddy for lunch. I walked in and the atmosphere of the place was super relaxed and definitely beach themed as the name implies(reminds me of an Islands restaurant if you’ve ever been to that chain). It was pouring rain when we got there so there wasn’t very many people there. The staff was really friendly and nice. Didn’t know what to get but my buddy suggested the Santa Cruz so I tried that. So glad I did. I ordered a small hot santa cruz but it was HUGE. They stuffed the bread with so much stuff, you definitely get you money’s worth. I would highly suggest ordering the small unless you’re really hungry or want to take some of the left over home. The veggies tasted fresh and the meat was delicious. I was craving another sandwich after I got home. I’m definitely going to need to stop by here again the next time I’m in Los Osos.

What can I say about this place… it’s awesome! We just moved to the area and LOVE the Hut. Everyone that works there is super friendly and works hard. Heather, the owner, has gone out of her way to meet us and make sure we had a great experience. Awesome lady :) The food selection is great — I’m just going to go down the board and try all of it haha! Everything I’ve had has been super yummy. Good beers too — yay for having Ballast Point! Aaaaand they have amazing music every Friday too! Every table inside has a tv, or you can sit at the round bar or outside on their patio. It’s pretty big. Go. Just go.

Food was great. Service was abysmal. Waiting almost an hour for 4 sandwiches to go seems a bit extreme. When we arrived it was not that busy, we walked right up to the counter, and only two groups were seated. As we waited, it became packed. The gentlemen taking orders was great, and friendly. The woman making the sandwiches needed a lesson or two in manners, and how not to be a jerk. After waiting for more than 20 minutes we asked about our order, and were told it would be ten more minutes. 15 minutes later, we asked again, since we had somewhere to be and were THEN told our order had been ready LONG ago and«someone» must have walked away with it, so they had to make it again. No apologies, or anything. I’m guessing that instead of just laying a bag of food quietly on the counter and waiting for patrons to guess if its their order that’s ready maybe you should try a numbering system or maybe using the names you ask for to let people know when their food is ready. Will not go again based on employee rudeness.

I guess I need to lower my expectations when I order from Beach Hut Deli… I ask for no lettuce tomatoes peppers or onions. Beach Hut refers to that as «no produce»… My soggy sandwich had all of those things on it. Oh well, I’m getting used to picking the produce off my sandwiches…

Good, hearty sandwiches on fresh bread. I got a medium veggie(there are 2 kinds) and was able to eat half immediately, and save half for later. There are TVs at the booths, but we didn’t watch anything. Just there to grab a bite before hiking/beach times.

Not sure what all the hype is about here. It looks as though they spent a ton of money on décor and nothing on fresh ingredients… Just behind the cashier are four giant microwaves to nuke your ridiculously priced $ 13 sandwich. And check out the picture I took of the rotten, brown avocados I had to pick out of my sandwich before eating it. It’s too bad I ordered mine to-go, otherwise I would have asked for my money back and ate somewhere else.

The sandwiches are great. They don’t skimp on the quality or quantity. Good atmosphere. We love the new outside seating area. The staff has drastically improved in the last few moths. The«neat water cups» are cool too ;) I do however have 2 suggestions: 1. Please stress to your employees that chewing on a piece of gum like a cow chewing on cud is not apatite inducing. Not only was it gross but we could not understand a word this kid was saying. 2. I know this one is a long shot because, of plumbing and the pad that it sits on, but PLEASE consider moving the soda machine. When you get one of the technologically challenged individuals trying to navigate«this darn machine» to get their«diet pop» it causes a traffic jam. This is further compounded by the lunch or dinner rush stream headed to the register to order. If we have learned one thing from the movie Ghost Busters it is to never cross the streams.

UPDATE: I have changed my rating to a five-star(previously two-stars). The owner responded to my review in a very respectful and well thought out manner. He said that they had made some changes, so my husband and I decided to give them another chance. Everything was awesome! We thought that perhaps it was a fluke, so we went back another time, then another, etc. Every time we’ve been in since, the food has been spot on and no one has appeared to be under the influence. As always, the employees are super nice and helpful. I want to give a huge shout out to the owners/managers. Whatever you guys have done to improve things, it’s worked. Thank you, because your beer prices are some of the best in town, we love watching soccer there, and the food is awesome. It’s so great to have a local place to go to watch soccer and have a beer for a reasonable price **************************************! I’m really over this place. Their sandwiches are good, I’m not going to deny them that. It just kills me that they can never, ever seem to get our order right! I worked at a deli for years, so the fact that they get orders wrong, consistently, is rather impressive! It doesn’t matter whether it’s a simple sandwich or a salad. Something is always wrong. Example? «Easy sprouts”— no sprouts. Next visit, «easy sprouts”— extra sprouts. Next visit, «No salami on my chef salad, please.”— salami! Also, I’m pretty sure they drink on the job. I’ve seen an employee drink beer behind the counter(in a small, clear plastic cup). Another time, there was a blond girl who was clearly drunk. It wasn’t just me who noticed. When we left, my brother and sister in law commented on it. Last night, I smelled alcohol on one of the guys’ breath. No joke. Maybe this is why the orders are always wrong?(I’d like to point out that I’ve been in twice during the day, and I haven’t noticed that the day time crew may be drinking. Only at night.) Also, on more than one occasion, we’ve waited in a long line, only to get up to the register and have the person at the register answer the phone and take a to-go order! Seriously??? There were people standing around who could have done that. Not the person at the register helping in-store customers! Crazy! There are also times that there have been two people standing at the registers, but only one taking orders. With a decent line(not out the door, but still. Awkward.) The other person just stands there. Talking to the person taking orders. The people working there are really nice. I have to give them that. I’ve only had one person be just«meh», but he was the only person working the register while there was a long line. I think he was overwhelmed. All-in-all, we’ve been there about ten times since they’ve opened and we won’t be going back any time soon. I’m tired of spending that much for deli food, only to be left wondering what the heck just happened, when we leave. :-/

How to describe the Beach Hut? how about Heaven on a Frisbee? Dr Seuss I may not be, but the Hut is simply incredible. Is it pricey for the central coast? of course it is, but there is a subway across the street if you’d like to have a boring $ 6 sandwich… So far I can personally guarantee you that the Haole Cheese Steak, Pig Kahuna, Beach BBQ, & the Malibu are all amazing. the Malibu is amazinger. yes, that’s a Bush-ism. I almost wish they wouldn’t call the«small» the small, rather it should be a regular, the medium should be «Big» and the large could be Giant. seriously, these things will fill you up, and the small is more than enough for 80% of the population, no joke. Final thought: they have a pac-man/donkey kong/galaga game in the kids game room(along with air hockey & other games), if this doesn’t give you reason enough to head straight over, i really don’t know what to say about your priorities in life. really. Great food, great service, and one of the coolest ambiances on the central coast, you won’t be sorry you showed up here(especially on a fri or sat night when they have live music!)
