The entire family is so friendly when we stopped in one morning. We tried and bought Sky Highand Fog Lifter. Great quality and I will definitely be ordering more. Very helpful inside.

INSANE coffee. My favorite is the decaf Scottish Toffee. OMG. Everyone we know loves this place, my family from out of town always stocks up when they come to visit. The place is super clean and inviting, with a beautifully organized warehouse. The staff is so nice and will chat with you :)

Fantastic coffee, and the staff I speak to on the phone are a pleasure to talk to, even when I make a goof up placing an order! Well worth having shipped to my office!!! No more big name, store bought coffee for me!

SLO Roasted coffee is one of the best locally owned and operated businesses here on the Central Coast. The roasters, sales staff, and owners are as friendly and knowledgable as it gets. I’ve been drinking their coffee for over 10 years now, and it is amazing. Keep up the great work, guys! Special shout out to Adam Boyd– EXCELLENT coffee roaster!

Awesome coffee! Loved talking with Julie and Chris. Saw Adam(the master roaster) in action and he talked with us about what makes great coffee. Everyone was great and love the Vienna Dark Roast! Definitely a must have coffee for the morning!

Our office in SLO is fueled by this coffee! Half of us enjoy the seasonal flavors; pumpkin spice, cinnamon gingerbread, & toasted pecan, the other favorites are Vienna dark roast, Mexican Fino, & Guatemalan. Local, yummy, and they provide fantastic service to our office. I purchase a pound for each of my discerning coffee loving family members that live in Monterey & Santa Cruz for Christmas presents each year. This is better than Starbucks(who just teamed up with Monsanto seed.)

I must admit that I am a coffee picky person. Having said that, I love SLO Roasted Coffee. Quality and service has been exceptional. I’ve been buying from them for about 10 years.

I’ve been drinking SLO coffee since visiting friends 15 years ago who live in Los Osos, just up the road from San Luis Obispo(SLO). I still remember my first-ever cup of Morning Fog as one unbelievably great cup of java. I was hooked on it and have been ordering fresh-roasted coffee from these guys ever since.(It was definitely a plus that I happened to be looking at the Morro Bay rock out a kitchen window with my first sips of SLO coffee…) Some of the best coffee on the planet made by an indie operation, with relatively small-batch roasting; dozens of quite tasty coffees, both flavors and unflavored(whole beans or grind); easy online or phone-in ordering & shipping; and important to me, very nice people to deal with. Morning Fog is the starting point for many in the SLO area where it’s sold locally, but numerous flavors can be found on local store shelves as well.
I only wish they would find a way to fill k-cups, but I decided to turn over a new leaf and revisit my epicurean coffee past: I ordered a few pounds for family and friends and myself tonight. In about 3 – 4 days when it shows up on my porch I’ll crank up our other coffeemaker downstairs. Yessiree, I’m going the full pot route in the KitchenAid drip machine for the first time in a couple years and looking forward to that moment. Out with the über-convenient Keurig k-cup contraption for the Holidays(at the minimum, I swear it) and in with the slow comfort of drip grind coffee. I’m gonna get my coffee buzz on in high fashion with some Morning Fog wafting through my house, uh-huh. I’m seeing double rainbows right now. BTW– the company offers 2 free sample packs of your choice with every single order so be sure to ask for them as you order.

They make the entire LOVR area smell wonderful when they fire up the roasters, so ***** stars even though their coffee is generally lighter than my preference. But, you can’t go far wrong with beans that are literally fresh from the roaster. And if you buy from them direct they’ll throw in a bonus ¼lb sample of another roast– can’t beat that with a stick.

When business people put their heart, soul and passion into a business it is translucent and the business thrives. The employees are proud because they have a job that is something they can brag about and flourish. I experienced such a business, called SLO Roasted Coffee first by a cup of coffee freshly made in a French press and then at the annual open house. I received an invitation from Julie Galloway to attend this innovative experience that included a coffee and pastry pairing, a tour of their facilities, a live roasting demonstration and finally a «cupping» tasting of the coffee. She promised that this event would increase my coffee IQ and she was right. I was thrilled and had no problem recruiting Mr. Bayus to accompany me. SLO Roasted Coffee is lodged in a warehouse in Los Osos, with a retail showing of their coffees, coffee infused edibles and other items made with a coffee base including lotions, soaps and shampoos. I grabbed a large glass mug and quarried into the pairings. SLO Roasted Coffee picked four categories to showcase their brews with awe-inspiring pastries from the Apple Farm Restaurant. Executive Pastry Chef Willette«Willie» Vey produced a spread of tasty treats that complemented the coffees impeccably. I started with the North American pairing with a Mexican Fino Coffee paired with a Dulce De Leche cupcake that led you to believe you were siting on a café in Cabo San Lucas. The cupcake had a crunchy top, caramel swirl through out and abulieta chocolate harmonizing perfectly with the mellow brew. The Mexican Fino was a surprise with mocha hints and nutty traces. They also had a white chocolate dipped almond biscotti(this was my favorite pastry). It was soft with a touch of almond paste, drizzled chocolate and sliced almonds, a taste that was simply delicious. Next was the African Coffee Pairing with Kenya AA bean. This coffee had a light body and a silky texture. Its earthy implications and hints of spice and fruit worked well with the Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake. The cheesecake had a muffin bottom, with a mildly spiced real pumpkin filling and a dollop of whip cream. This coffee was bold and strong and I took some home for my Sunday breakfast. It was also paired with aptly named Lemon lust Bars, a tart lemon tart that surprised delighted all who tried it with the coffee. The Central American pairing featured Costa Rican beans. This coffee was mild, but bold with a hint of floral undertones. It was like swimming in a Cenote of flavor. The pastry was a vanilla cheesecake with tangy cherries drizzled on top. Gary really liked this combination. I preferred the chocolate truffle cheesecake with three layers of different chocolate throughout with white chocolate curls placed on top. The last was a Dark Roasted pairing. The star of this liquid test was a Vienna Dark Roast and it was perfection. Rich texture with light acidity and full bodied chocolate undercurrents made me happily reach for the creamer. The Apple Cardamom Pecan Cake with salted caramel was a winter delight. It was one of the most inspired and wonderful tastings I have ever done. SLO Roasted coffee believes the most important element of coffee is the roasting and they have created a magical product. We moved on to the roasting demonstration. Resembling Willy Wonkas chocolate factory with impeccable cleanliness and beans shooting up and down tubes, large sacks of bean lining the walls and the enthusiastic employees so happy to explain the art of roasting the beans. Callie told us about all the different methods of making a cup of coffee from French press to Keurig and we learned why you should buy your coffee in small qualifies each week from a local roaster. We studied that if you store and treat your beans as you would a great perfume or wine, keeping it away from moister, light and air each cup will be memorable. SLO Roasted Coffee delivers daily to local stores, so there is never a reason to buy more than a weeks worth of beans. SLO Roasted Coffee has been family owned and operated since 1984 and they use the finest Arabica beans from selected growing regions around the world. We saw two fair trade examples and ones from Kona, Columbia and Kenya. Each varietal is roasted in small batches to bring out maximum flavors(that is the art part). They have over 40 flavors to choose from and all are absolutely enchanting. You can stop in the factory too buy your coffee or order it online at .

I live in SD, but grew up in Los Osos. I still buy all my coffee from them. It’s great because it comes pretty fresh and they throw some samples in the box as well. Oh yeah, and the coffee is delicious. :)

Mornin’ calls for coffee. This is where Rice and I order our coffee from and they ROCK! So many flavors, dark, light, decaf! Ground, whole bean, get it how you want it. If you are in California, place your order in the morning on the phone or even on the site and I’ll bet anything you’ll get that order the next day! Make a couple of hefty orders(get your friends or co-workers on board) and you’ll get a nifty mug free of charge. All orders come with 2 samples, so if you order on line, state your preference in the notes area. Or leave it up to them to decide! My favorites: Belgian Chocolate, German Chocolate Cake, Egg Nog, Swiss Blend and Tanzanian Peaberry.
