Someone from my company did a dinner program there in November. When the final bill arrived it was noticed that Liberty was taken in bringing appetizers to the group. My coworker noted that she felt she was taken advantage of. Will not be doing any dinners for clients there again.

The most amazing spinach side I have ever tasted is their«green phunque» ! I had a good steak and mushrooms to go with it.

Very disappointed with our mediocre dining experience tonight! As a previous review mentioned, the high price does not match the average quality! We received our six scampis served on top of rice«luke warm», by the time we finished our plate, it was cold. I had first ordered a Kier Royale, the hostess came back to announce they did not have it at the bar. I decided to opt out for a Perrier water instead and it never came to our table either(must be an aversion for French beverages). Tired of waiting for my beverage, my husband decided to check himself at the bar. Indeed they could prepare a Kier, unfortunately it came to our table by the time we were almost done with our cold scampis. Furthermore, it was extremely cold inside the restaurant. Not a pleasant experience especially for such a high price!

This place is really good! I’ve eaten here since I was a kid. The food is amazing, kinda old school steak house With old school food. Now a days it’s culinary art wherever you go but here you get that steak and sides you remember eating growing up. The menu is excellent and the staff always gives you just a little extra attention. This review is based on several visits over the years and it’s always been a great experience. We are there last a couple a weeks ago and the gave my little boy a free desert, the server just said«hey is it ok if I give him a slice of cake in me». And I was blown away by how nice that was so I said sure!!!

What a nice family feeling place with wonderful steaks. Our meal was great… hot, great taste, and attentive servers. One of our treats when we visit Louisville

Not that many years ago I would have given this place four stars for sure. It was a traditional steak house in the best sense of the term. The black bean soup with a sherry floater was wonderful. The steaks would arrive at your table swimming in a puddle of garlic butter and they were always tender enough that they didn’t even put steak knives on the table. A butter knife was more than adequate for the task. Also the creamed spinach was a must have. The potatoes au gratin were also divine. The last time we went the soup was undercooked, the creamed spinach was just so-so, and the steak was served with a steak knife which was needed. Note to owner… if you need to put a steak knife on the table you are just serving a piece of beef not a memorable steak.

Del Frisco’s is a traditional steakhouse. The food is good, but not on par with the price. I’ve dined here a handful of times, but most recently only because we had a gift card. If I’m going to spend ~$ 150 on a meal, there are other options I’d choose first. The restaurant itself, the general décor, even the menu, all seem very dated. If you’re looking for a fresh, trendy, unique dining experience, Del Frisco’s is not that. Don’t get me wrong, a restaurant doesn’t have to be new and hip for me to want to dine there. There are lots of places that nail the old school atmosphere. However, Del Frisco’s seems to be more outdated than old fashioned. Something is just missing from the vibe. Onto the food… To me, it’s pretty good. Above average, but it doesn’t blow me away. I’ve tasted every cut of steak on the menu, grilled shrimp, several sides, and the Caesar salad. The table bread is warm and fluffy, served with fresh butter. The Caesar salad is one of my favorite parts of the meal. The steaks are good, with my favorite being the ribeye(that always seems to be the case). For sides, I’ve tried the green phunque and the potatoes au gratin. Again, all the food has been fine. For me, the problem comes when the taste and quality of the food don’t match the price tag. I don’t at all mind paying for high dollar food, but Del Frisco’s food is not on that level. If there were a scale that went from average to upscale, the food is closer to average and the prices are closer to upscale. Yes, the food is above average, but not by much. To end positively, the service has always been excellent for me. I was surprised to see reviews complaining of slow service. That hasn’t been the case for me. We were taken care of by multiple servers. There was always someone refilling our glass, bringing out food, or taking away empty dishes. Our server was extremely kind, but not overbearing. All of our food came out quickly and well-paced. Del Frisco’s is by no means a bad place to dine. But it won’t be my first choice when there is a plethora of Louisville eating establishments that give you an amazing experience and delicious food for the same price.

I have been eating here for 20 years, but this most recent visit will be my last. The service that used to be great is now sub par and not in line with what you pay. The ambiance is old and stale. The food is still ok but not what it used to be. We sat in the room with the TV’s on our most recent visit and a kid who obviously belonged to one of the staff was sitting in the dinning room on one of the sofas eating French fries and watching cartoons with the volume up. Really??? I overheard another guest ask a question about a beer on the menu and the hostess said and I quote«I don’t know what that is, I don’t drink beer» and then just looked at him. The guy ordered something else but you could tell he was truly disgusted. The person that brought the food from the kitchen was just rude and had no manners, really couldn’t believe it. This used to be a Louisville gem, sadly it is no longer which is too bad. If you are looking for a special night with great service and atmosphere, do not go here because you will be disappointed. If you happen to be in town on a week night and want a better steak than you can get from Outback, then you will be ok. Del Frisco’s: PLEASE read these reviews and fix your restaurant!!! Please before it’s too late!

The steaks here are fantastic, but everything else could use a major face lift and A LOT better organization. I ordered the Fried Clam Chowder for my soup starter, and I admit that is one of the main reasons I eat here when I’m in Louisville. In fact it is my favorite version of this soup from anywhere in the country. I was informed(after it was brought to the table WITHOUT the fried clams on top) that they failed to order more from their supplier so only regular clam chowder would be available. I guess the waiter was hoping I wouldn’t notice because he just sat it down in front of me and walked away. Not very professional. I instead opted for the Lobster Bisque(really bummed out but trying to put a positive spin on things). The Lobster was old and tasted like it had been in their cooler for some time. Not a good way to start my dining experience to say the least. When we got our steaks they were absolutely great as usual. That was the only thing good about our time spent there. This restaurant needs to go through a serious remodel, from the carpet to the tables and furniture, and finally the curtains. We had 2 chairs at our table that we know didn’t make it through the week. I think they also need to hire a new restaurant manager who is on top of all food orders as well as going around to tables asking customers how everything was. I never saw a manager once the entire night. My advice is to either shape up or ship out! We spent well over $ 400.00 for an average experience. We could’ve got this type of service from Texas Roadhouse… and not spent half the money!!!

I’ve eaten here many times. And while I don’t dine here monthly, I’ve eaten here on average at least once per year over the last 10 years. My recommendations are the lobster bisque, green phunque, potatoes au gratin, sautéed mushrooms, and always treat yourself to the filet. The service is always on point. Very friendly, professional, courteous, and attentive.

The Good: The young man that was assigned keeping drinks filled, bringing an extra glass, serving the bread and butter: very attentive; best part of the service. The cozy venue atmosphere. Low lighting. Easy parking. Friendly staff. One meat of two was good flavor & cooked to perfection. The complimentary single serving of crème brûlée dessert for two. Great flavored crust;fresh fruit. Best part of the meal. The bad: On-line menu does not warn of prices so consumers may make an intelligent decision to dine here. Then they issued no take-home itemized receipt, so we could prove what items they charged for. The chair seat cushions are spent. You sink down into them. Hostess did not blink to help switch seats, for us, or the party sitting by us, as if this is a regular complaint. Prolonged wait after receiving iced tea to get sweetener. The room-temperature about 5“L x 4“H x 4“W bread loaf tasted like paper. Waiter took a long delay after he gave us the first chance to order, to give us a second chance to order – when there was only one other party in the room. Spinach in the $ 7.50 each spinach salads was swimming in the(not so)“hot” bacon dressing that came out room temperature overloaded/drenched in oil dressing: unedible; ruined/wasted the spinach and bacon. We sent them back. No offer to replace them. Waiter was oblivious about our dissatisfaction, then had the audacity to put the $ 15.00 bill for unedible, uneaten, complained about salads. The butter for the $ 68.00 «Chateaubriand for Two» arrived at the table sizzling, but got cold before the chateaubriand meat & veggies arrived. The cauliflower tasted like rubber, as if it had been frozen. One out of two meats were cooked as requested. We both ordered the same«medium»; one arrived rare. Worse, when we complained about the too-red meat, the waiter took the whole plate, leaving the customer with no meal while the other’s was getting cold. Worst of all, the meat came back well done, AND cut in the middle before re-cooking. Now I remember why it took us about 10 years to go back; they did this«re-cooking/overcooking» the last time we were there. Pretty stingy for the price charged. The wine we ordered to come with the meal, did not arrive with the meal; we had to remind the waiter. It must have been just a coincidence that one of us was stomach-sick the wee morning after. Service: Clearly understaffed. Unable to serve only a few parties in the room. No verbal offer to take off the bill the unedible salad or under-cooked-then-overcooked steak. Not one iota of an APOLOGY, except for the late wine. General/Overall: Clearly over-priced(over $ 100 for 2) in off the beaten path strip mall, for food you cannot eat. Each time we went back about after the first 4 – 5 visits, this place’s dining experience has gone continually downhill, since the 1990’s. The complimentary food for celebrating was not as generous as years prior, when they offered us EACH person celebrating an anniversary a choice of dessert or champagne. FYI, this time, waiter did not give us a choice. Pretty much the theme here: you’ll get what you’ll get here. Just our opinions.

My dad and I wanted somewhere special to go to celebrate something… I was leaning more towards another steakhouse in town, but he had just gotten a coupon for $ 20 off for Del Frisco’s– I’d have gladly paid full price anywhere else after this. The restaurant prides itself on it’s original décor: straight out of the 1970s. Dark, old light fixtures, odd draperies in the dining area. Upon being seated, I notice the silverware is better suited to a meat-and-three cafeteria: cheap, ugly, and old. Overall the atmosphere was cheap feeling. Our server was a little unprofessional, but at least she got our order right. I ordered the lobster bisque and the smaller ribeye and my dad got a salad and the filet. We ordered potatoes au gratin and asparagus to share. We were also not given a wine list until we asked for one. In my experience, a wine list in a proper steakhouse is supposed to be almost as impressive as the steaks. I think our local Outback has a better wine list. These were strictly«grocery store» labels at a 3x markup. My lobster bisque came out and looked nice enough, although the hearty dusting of paprika was unnecessary. My first mouthful was eagerly anticipated, as I’d read the reviews on Unilocal praising it. Ohh, so disappointing. It was so salty it actually messed my stomach up for the whole next day. My dad’s salad was drowned in dressing. It looked terrible. Our steak arrived and the food runner(with facial piercings?) mixed up our order. I understand women typically order a filet while ribeyes are typically man’s food, but I assume that most servers indicate which seat gets what dish. She placed the wrong 350* plate in front of me before confirming which went where and couldn’t get a good enough grip on the plate to correct the mistake. She fumbled and bumbled a minute and got it straight. My steak, while cooked properly in some places, was still drowned in butter and tough. The filet was huge and looked to have been properly done, I didn’t hear any complaints from Dad. The asparagus wasn’t trimmed properly and I found myself spitting out the woody ends so often I quit eating it. The au gratin potatoes were bland and undercooked. Top it all off with a table of loud, ill-mannered, poorly dressed folks(ball caps still on, hoodies, Ed Hardy-inspired trash. Come on, folks. At least remove the damn hats before you come into a place like this. Bottom line: pass, dude. Head to another of Louisville’s fine dining establishments.

Ok. So this was my bf and my first time here. The hostess was nice, there seemed to be a little chaos/confusion over all up there. They did seat us right away which was nice. Our waitress was very pleasant. My onion soup was ok, he said his lobster bisque was great! Caesar salad was good. It took quite a while for our steaks to come out, I had a filet and swordfish, and he ordered a ribeye. My filet was under cooked and his was over cooked so we just switched. The ribeye had a terrible flavor and the filet wAs just ok. Our server did give us a free desert crème brûlée and cheese cake which was good. I gave it two stars for the fact the food was NOT worth the money. I was very disappointed over all. Oh and I washed my hands and there was no hot water.

Went there on Feb. 15th. Between the Valentines day crowd and the farm machinery show being in town it was packed. They were understaffed and it showed. The service was poor, orders were wrong and were brought out piecemeal. The food was good, but not exceptional. It was overpriced for what was offered.

Oh. My. Gosh! I went here for my office Christmas party and we had the best time! I called to make the reservations and it went smoothly. They said we probably wouldn’t get a private room since we only had nine people, but when we showed up they had us in a sectioned off place. I was really happy with the service, making sure to ask what drink we wanted right when we walked in the door. You get bread which is so fluffy! And we ordered calamari for the table. The breading was SO light and everything was delicious, and there was PLENTY for the amount of people we had. When you order, everything is a la carte. And thankfully they now have half portions of their sides. I ordered the smaller filet, med. rare, and it came out PERFECTLY cooked! When it came out you could smell the butter that it had been cooked in. And they didn’t even give me a steak knife, because I didn’t need one. I got the potatoes au gratin for a side and they were so creamy and cheesy and omg yum!!! It’s a little pricey, but SOOOOO worth it!

I’ve never tasted a steak SOGOOD! My first time here was when I attended the Kentucky Derby. I wanted a nice, popular place with great food. I found it when I stepped into Del Frisco’s! I had a filet mignon which was the best steak I have ever eaten(and I eat A LOT of steak!). When our waiter brought it to our table, after he left, I noticed that I didn’t have a steak knife at the table. I didn’t want to wait for him to return, so I picked up the knife I had and to my amazement, it cut through my tender and delicious steak like butter. Amazing! I also had a side of the potatoes au grautin and I savored each and every bite. WOW. For dessert, I asked if they had Derby pie, they did and it was on the house. :-) I will be going back again May 6th, 2013, I have my reservation placed and my taste buds are already watering!

Bartender was bad, drink had a gnat in it, service was dismal at best, food was not that hot. I canceled my cocktail because it took forever, my wife had to remind waiter after 10 minutes of her drink not showing up. I will never go back.

Best steak I’ve ever had in my life! This place is so stinking good. Plus, my wife and I usually get free dessert when we go. I guess that’s because we are obviously not of the social class that regularly dines there and they pity us. The staff are super friendly. I heartily recommend this place.

Outstanding food and service that was just as good. The steaks were incredible. Although they suggest that you wont need a steak knife for your steak and you actually do. But they are truly flavorful and delicious! My bill was actuallu cheaper than I had anticipated! Outstanding.

How does this place not have an amazing review? On entering into this modest space in Saint Matthews, I had no idea what to expect. Once inside the doors, I felt as if I was walking into a set from AMC’s «Mad Men» with the low lighting, and mid century interior details. Tonight I ended up going here with my dh; he ordered a sirloin for me, and prime rib for himself. Both were amazing. On the side we had the potatoes au grautin, which was spectacular and I could make a meal out of on it’s own. The entire meal was just perfect and the staff was polite and attentive. I had a great time. I could just imagine Don Draper sitting at a table across the room from us.
