Awesome place! Spent much of weekend there while attending Conference at UMass Lowell. They handled the large crowd well. Food and drinks Fantastic!

Have rarely had a bad meal or experience here. Once the shrimp cocktail weren’t sufficiently de-veined, once my steak tips maybe weren’t as rare as I would expect with a request of rare, but the vast majority of times the food and service is great. One thing that irritates the HELL out of me is dropping $ 170 on food and drink for 2 people — like I did last night — but having to pay $ 3 for a cup of coffee at the end of the night. That’s ridiculous.

I really wanted to like this place. I mean REALLY. As someone who has grown up in the restaurant business and had been in it most of my adult life it takes a lot for me to go back to a place after receiving sub par service and mistakes on lots of food… but I could see the potential so once again I have it a shot with my mom, this will be my last. Today I really wanted to have a house salad before my meal and noticed that they didn’t have one on the menu, strange I thought because of the type of meals they serve. I asked the server if they had small house salad, one that was smaller and without all the stuff on the artisan greens($ 7.99) to which he replied: sure I can have the kitchen whip up something and took the rest of our order. The salad came and it was tiny with only lettuce and onions however the white balsamic dressing was great. My mom got the ½ chicken which she liked. I got the short ribs which were on the dry side and onto of kale cooked horribly. The suprise came when the bill came and I noticed that I was charged $ 7.99 for the tiny bowl of lettuce and red onions. When along the server be said that they didn’t have a house salad on the menu so they were going to charge me for the artisan. What? When I asked for the manager she repeated the same thing but also handed me a small artisan salad… I didn’t want the artisan salad, if I wanted it I would’ve ordered it! Instead of just taking a few dollars off which would’ve been completely called for your way of handling in it is telling me I am going to get charged for something I didn’t order, didn’t want, and you decided to hand to me anyway to get me leave. You got your wish, I’m gone, my mom is gone and your restutant left such a bad taste in our mouth with the way and rudeness this was handled that we will make sure to let others know they should stay away as well.

One only needs to look back at reviews to see that this«gentleman» is, well, out of touch with reality. And in the spirit of «don’t let the truth get in the way» he readily«forgets» to mention that he in fact told our table that they don’t use tongs and«always do it this way». So to say we were upset about a «missing» set of tongs… an oversight, is so very disingenuous. And to imply that by telling the public about the shoddy food and unsanitary practices that we seek to put his staff out of jobs is just plain avoidance on his part. To say he thought«the mother had a aversion to touching food» is quite odd. That he literally tossed a small plate of crackers onto the table in front of her is, well, disgusting. Surely he used his own hands. Disgusting. . Unsanitary conditions aside, what really was the worst part was this bully of an owner who thrust himself upon our table after overhearing a mother-to-daughter comment, not directed to him, and refused to leave. When he did finally move, he literally stood 10 feet away, arms folded and stared, yes stared at my 26 year old step-daughter; a very CREEPY behavior at best. It was his crude behavior that is the sad part. Really sad. And by many, many past reviews behavior that goes way back. We did hear other«guests» mention touching of food by others with bare hands but 80% of dissatisfied customers do not stand up, they simply never come back. We did both. So go ahead, fool yourself and blame the customer for your sad lack of class as your low-rent behavior is a sign of an angry, angry person — and a bully. And Scott, as the owner you wear jeans on Mother’s Day, and a jacket several sizes too big, even for you?!? Says a lot.

One of the best beer selections around. They have an amazing bar and food. The service is great as well. Plus, they have amazing shoestring fries.

I have been dying to come here, perhaps because it’s the only restaurant in Lowell with a decent looking façade. Yet I have not have had a chance to stop by but on Friday evening I decided to order take out. I called and the food was ready within 30 minutes. I walked in and it hit me… The whole time I was creating an image of a high end restaurant w/luxurious silver wear and staff but came to find out it’s just a bar. To be fair is not just a crappy/worn out bar but a «nicer» bar. Point is, is not what it looks like in the outside at all and it’s not your special occasion, date night restaurant either. I was let down but the food was ready and I wasn’t about to not pay for it and go back home. I paid my $ 50+ dollars for a salad, an entrée and an appetizer and left heartbroken. Deep down inside, I was hopeful that the food was going to speak louder than the restaurant décor. ANDITDID!!! Starting by the silver wear, it was plastic but it was the«nicer» kind of plastic silver wear(loved it). Then I tried the avocado toast and it was unbelievable, it was amazing! The salad was great and large in size. My friend ordered the Texas tips, think that’s the name, and those were soft and delicious as well! knowing now what the place looks like inside and what kind of nights I will be coming here, I will most definitely be back without a doubt.

My wife and I went to dinner last night. We have been at least 10 times. We love the food especially the Mac-n-cheese and truffle fries oh and great beer on tap… Last night we were celebrating our anniversary and had great service from Billy. After dinner my my wife always asks me if I have the essentials … Did I get my card back. Well she forgot and so did I. As we were walking to our car, Billy came running to return my card. Thank you so much for great food and great service.

Group of 5 of us came for brunch. Took forever to order, took forever for the food to come out, and on top of it, once the food was to the table mine had some kind of gritty substance on the kale as if it wasn’t washed. Place wasn’t even busy. Never going back. Reply to Cobblestones: Thanks for replying. Yes the server was made aware. They credited the meal from the check, which is fine. Appreciate the offer of the gift certificate, but first impressions are huge for me. I won’t be back.

My boyfriend and I love cobblestones. It is one of the best restaurants in lowell. When you walk in it feels like a historic victorian house, which gives you a comfort feeling. It is beautiful inside, and huge I might add. Private Dining Room: We have had the privilege of attending a rehearsal dinner in their Private dining area, and the space is perfect if you have a smaller group, and the food was delicious. Patio: In the summer we like to have a picture of margaritas and apps outside Bar: The bar is also great to have a drink and catch up with a friend, the bartenders are awesome and sweet. They are also attentive, and make great drinks. The upstairs Event Area: We have had events here and the space is awesome and I forget that we are in a restraraunt. Dining Area: Their dining area is also very nice and the servers are fast, and great. I love ordering the chicken Marsala, Nachos and for an appetizer everyone needs to try their Jumbo Shrimp it is to die for. Yay for cobblestones and the people who work there, for making our experiences great.

We were looking for good beer and burgers and figured this was the place given the scent of char-grilling wafting in the air outside. The dining room looked pretty fancy for how we were dressed so we in the half empty bar at 8pm on Saturday night. Service was prompt and the beer menu was pretty good. We settled in awaiting what we hoped was going to be higher echelon bar food given the Boston prices. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad for about $ 17 bucks and was presented with a bowl full of tasteless Romain, a smallish grilled chicken breast, a single anchovies and a few wisps of very dry Parmesan. I got the dressing on the side, which was a good thing given how heavy it was. I could have done just as well at Chilis. My lady ordered a burger Medium(not medium rare) that arrived bloody on a plate with exceedingly small French fries in an exceedingly small amount. Again, I found myself wishing we’d gone to Chilis. The good news is that the beer menu is quite good and they rotate the craft offerings regularly. I’ll be back for beer but won’t return for food. Maybe the dining room is better? Overall a pretty meh experience.

To be fair, I was here for a work event. But, I found the food and service to be just ok. Finding parking in the area is tricky, but if you go in the evening for dinner, there is plenty of parking in the lot. The only problem for us is that we initially missed the turn into the lot and had to go all the way around. Once we got in, our group took up two floors. The building was an interesting space. The acoustics made it hard to have conversations and the heating/cooling in the rooms were uneven. I was either too warm or freezing. I know it can be hit or miss at work events and the menu was prix fixe. I did enjoy the prime rib and the acorn squash.

We walked in on a cool Fall Saturday to the bar side. It was before dinner time and the bar was starting to pick up and get busy. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were really friendly. They offer a good amount of beer on draft. Our bartender let us try out a few pumpkin beers and the autumn doughnut rum drink before we placed our orders. We got the onion peels, pretzel and calamari. They came out of the kitchen really fast. All were tasty and served in cute stands or nice plating. Prices were really reasonable. 4 drinks and 3 appetizers were less than $ 60.00. I would definitely come back again.

Everytime we go here we have a fantastic experience, the servers and bartenders are always polite, professional and provide great service. The food is phenomenal! The buffalo tenders, french onion soup, reuben and beef short rib are just a few of our favorites. They have a very good beer selection and make a great Manhattan. We live within walking distance and Cobblestones is always our«go-to» when we have out of town guests. Tonight we went to the Brewmaster Jack beer dinner at Cobblestones and had an amazing time! The staff was awesome as always. The food was out of this world, some of the best food we have ever had anywhere! Fried Green tomatoes with pork belly, Gnocchi with duck confit, Braised short rib! All incredible and it paired extremely well with all the great beer. Awesome job all around, we can’t wait for the next beer dinner!

My most recent cobblestones experience will undoubtedly be my last. My family attempted to have a formal birthday dinner, however this was unattainable for the cobblestone’s staff. Untimely service, obscenely over-priced drinks, and the strikingly lackluster quality of food, all contributed to a disappointing dining experience. The lack of facilities for diners during the folk festival made using the restroom in a timely fashion impossible. My girlfriend waited as asinine amount of time(30+ minutes) to use the restroom during our chaotic dinner. Folk festival weekend does slow things down and this is understandable, however it is the establishments responsibility to account for these things and adjust accordingly. Cobblestones has failed to do this. Downtown lowell is full of wonderful places to eat; Cobblestones is not one of them.

Owner was incredibly rude and insulting. Have never been spoken to with such disrespect and profanity before in my entire life. Will never ever go back there again. If you want to be insulted and called names then go here, otherwise go where you can actually have a good meal and enjoy the experience.

I had always heard about Cobblestone’s but had never actually gone in until about a week ago and I am glad I did. The place is really fun and the staff is wicked nice. I ordered a Moscow Mule and it was made amazingly, copper cup and everything. There is also a great selection of beers. For food I ordered the Vegetarian Chili along with a side of shoestring fries. The chili was fantastic. Super flavorful and somewhat spicy I will definitely be ordering it again. i would recommend this place if you are looking for some good food and a great drink to go with it.

I came here last night with a group of 15 coworkers & we had an exceptional experience at the Cobblestone. I do need to mention that they are really against Unilocal for some reason & even ask you to not Unilocal on their menu — but I was never a girl that follows directions so here is my review. The Cobblestone is in a cute little town called Lowell, this was my first time here and the entire town is ablaze with Christmas lights, very cute. The restaurant is in what looks like a very large old home and upon entering the patron is greeted by a warm, wonderful, comforting fire. My group went upstairs where we had a room to ourselves. We were provided with Christmas tree and a table to set up our gifts. We had one waiter… one… he serviced the 15 of us FLAWLESSLY! One would have thought we had a wait staff of 30, he didn’t miss a beat. Honestly, I can’t get over how good this kid was, I wish I knew his name so I could give him a shout out. The group ordered oysters, calamari, a hummus plate for me and a few more random appetizers to pass around the table. All of the food was delicious and there was nothing left when the plates were cleared. They have a very nice beer & wine list and offer flights for the undecided. Again, we waited for nothing — our expeditious waiter kept the libations flowing while we were conducting our meeting. We ordered for and the portion sizes are very generous — come hungry or don’t order anything extra! I ordered the vegetarian butternut squash(see photo) and a side of brussels sprouts, DELICIOUS! I cleaned my plate. All of the plates were cleaned, everyone loved their meal and again — the service was exceptional. Coffee and after dinner cordials were served quickly and we exchanged gifts. I should have ordered a dessert, oh well, next time. I really liked the Cobblestone, the drinks, food, service and I hope we go back when we have our next meeting. Cheers!
