I had a hard time with choosing 3 or 4 stars. They fall right in between for me. We had a gift card so we decided to go for brunch this morning. We had never heard of them before. Parking wasn’t bad we found a spot right outside the patio gate. No one greats you so we were not sure if we should just sit or not. We walked through a short maze and found the bar. The bartender told us to just pick a seat outside and she would be right out. Being a non smoking family we noticed the smell of old cigarettes right away. There were cigarette butts all over the ground outside. The smell was really strong. The waitress was lovely. She came right out to take our orders and drop off the menus. The menu is varied just enough and had some great options for everyone on it. I was glad the menu was online because the paper ones were very fuzzy and in the bright sun I really couldn’t read it. Drinks were quick and the food only took a few minutes. Everything came out beautiful. We all tasted each other’s and everything was delicious. Truly the waitress/bartender was fantastic. She was very friendly and the service was fantastic. So the 4 stars are for service and the food and the reasonable prices. I do wish the ground could have been swept or sprayed from all those who were out there last night. Even the metal tables felt like there was ash on them. It was really nice to sit outside for brunch, looking up at the old Sun building and listening to the birds. A quiet place for champagne and eggs on a Sunday afternoon!

Well this was a nice surprise to find in Lowell! Checked it out last night after seeing a movie at the Luna theatre. We were looking for something different than Fuse or Tremonte Pizza, and we found it! I pulled back on 5 stars since they didn’t have any of the specials on the board, and I really wanted to try the surf and turf. They had to come out and erase most of everything on there. We started out with buffalo wings, they were OK, not the best, certainly not the worst.(another reason for the 4 stars) We went for sandwiches, I got the steak, hubby got a burger. Both were really, really good. No frozen patty crap here! The bacon was cooked perfectly, and the french fries were awesome! All around solid good food. Can’t wait to go back and try their steak and some specials! The beer selection is excellent, the service was friendly and good, might be our new go to place!

Surprisingly great food, retro décor and good craft beer. I have to agree with my friends, this place has the best burgers in Lowell.

Been here a few times and I’m always disappointed. The wait staff is often, not always, pretty horrible. The Reuben is half portioned, for whatever reason. The last time we went, everything about my burger was overdone and when we both asked for the bartenders choice of IPA(couldn’t read the board from our seats) we got $ 8 and $ 9 beers. They clearly just picked the priciest ones. They do have good quality beers on tap, and the food is good when they cook it right, but too many fails.

Excellent burgers — asked for medium rare and got medium rare. That’s notable in this area. The fries were crispy and not greasy. They have a few craft beers. When I’m craving a burger, this will be the first place I think of. Service was great too.

I have been many times for the bar scene after 10PM. Not so bad bands/DJ’s. DEFINITELY a step up from Hookslide Kelleys. You have to be from Lowell to truly appreciate places downtown. Beers are excellent, I love trying a new one every time I’m there. Some of the employees could use a tip on customer service. The food is OK, a hit or miss really. I totally support them trying to bring a different style to the area, but some semi universal options might be nice on the menu. Like regular ribs, not an apple smothered rib option.

Bike-friendly bar with lots of outdoor seating and good beer selection plus a variety of entertainment. Also food. Way better food than you would expect them to have.

Great local bar with excellent nachos and beer with a diverse clientele. Glad Lowell has this place. Don’t stay home and watch Tv on weekends anymore!

My buddies suggested going here Saturday night since it was nice and they have an outdoor patio. Got more than we bargained for. A guy, who I was told is one of the owners, had a balloon popped by him and turned around and just punched the guy who popped it right in the face. The guy took the punch like a champ and then the bouncer stepped in. They kicked the guy who got punched in the face out of the bar. Then they all kind of sat by the back entrance celebrating this guy just punching a kid who looked like he was in college in the face. I didn’t realize owners or even employees of bars could just punch people in the face and then kick them out of the bar. Most likely won’t go back to this place it is like Roadhouse and there are a lot of better places to go around the area. Two stars because there is an outdoor patio and the drinks I don’t think are that expensive.

We were very excited to see they had live music and a patio on a bright Sunday morning. It really is a gem in downtown Lowell. However, try to avoid the Bloody Marys, don’t know if it was too much clamato or not enough spice, we just couldn’t stomach them. We asked for some lemon and lime wedges and they brought them to us on bar coasters, nbd. Food was DELICIOUS, hash Benedict was amazing, only a half portion but still worth it. My GF had the sandwich on Portuguese bread with kielbasa which she loved. Every dish comes with a side of some of the freshest fruit I’ve had in a long time. We alerted our waitress to the Bloody Mary issue and the manager come out almost right away to let us know that he took them off the bill. We asked for a couple cups of coffee while we listened to an amazing blues band. Thumbs up to Big Daddy and his wonderful voice, he’s got soul. Unfortunately, took about 20 minutes for her to bring us some fresh coffee. Overall, not bad, slightly disorganized but I think we’ll give it another shot.

With summer upon us and diets abound us this place does it right. For the dieters of course skip any one of 17 craft beers on tap. They carry my favorite gin, Hendricks. Distilled with cucumber and silky smooth. I enjoyed the Grilled Caesar Salad with steak and the scallops appetizer over a potato chips, above grilled pineapple, sambal, chili oil and cilantro. Days like this I’m thankful I am a walk away. I spend too many meals here. For the kids too, chicken nuggets and their honey mustard. A hit. Believe me, my kids are picky.

Yes! If the owner Matt is working(you’ll recognize him by his bow tie,) you’re in for a treat. He will make you feel right at home and keep you laughing all night. Craft beer selection is AWESOME. Everything is fresh, tons of IPA’s, and the bar staff knows their stuff. Went on a Thursday night and only the front bar /dining area was open. The bar was full, but Matt pulled a few stools together for us and made room. This place is super casual but food belongs in an expensive restaurant, it’s phenomenal. Show this place some love! Yay Dudley’s!

Been here twice for brunch now. Second and final time! Two and a half hours from start to finish. Mediocre food… you can probably make the meals served here at home. Had a bloody mary to start. It didn’t taste like anything. Added some salt and pepper. Eventually had a few HUGE chunks of peppercorn come through the straw. The waiter claimed the mix to be homemade — possibly true, but it wasn’t good either way. There were some weird things on the check. $ 6 side orders of bacon? I guess the server but in for a side of steak, because there’s no button on their POS system? Service was pretty slow in general. I think there’s maybe 12 tables inside. I saw a single server, a food runner, and two bartenders. One of the bartenders would come out and help from time to time. Still… there was a good 35 minute period between getting our first round of drinks till he came back for our brunch orders. Can’t say that I’ll go back. There aren’t a lot of brunch options downtown, but I’d definitely take my business elsewhere.

The décor is amazingly outdated. Not even retro, just played out Miami Vice style bar. Having said that, the food is actually really good. I had duck there and it was amazing. Another time I had a pizza and it was delicious. They also have a nice beer selection. The only thing I advise is if you are going for dinner, go early. Sometimes they book punk bands or worse EDMDJ’s that start when I am trying to dine with a date. They should make up their mind if they’re a music club or a restaurant. Lowell has music clubs, we need better restaurants. Stick with the food!

The food here was quite good, but the décor and the service were so-so. The kitchen was out of about 10 things at 8pm on a Friday, which was weird. How do you run out of nachos? Our waitress was OK, but seemed a little overwhelmed. The décor was bizarre. It seems this was a dive bar that someone is trying to fix up. Not to mention the signs outside do not say Dudley’s on them. Only a tiny chalkboard let us know we had found the right place. The chef knows his stuff. Short ribs were great, burgers likewise. Portions were on the small size. Overall, it was OK. Not worth making a special trip to Lowell, but good if you are already there.

I absolutely love this place: not only do they have a great craft beer selection and surprisingly delicious food(the flatbreads are to die for — the duck confit special was one of the best flatbreads I’ve had in my life; the wings are outstanding but make sure they don’t forget the blue cheese sauce because it is heavenly; the poutine is a true guilty pleasure and so worth the eight billion calories it contains), but they also have friendly bartenders who remember you and your preferences after just a couple of visits and a refreshingly normal crowd. Oh, and the prices are great — definitely less expensive than a night at Fuse. Overall a wonderful place, and a brilliant addition to the standard DTL offerings. It feels like the owners created a place that they themselves would enjoy, and it magically worked. Oh, and if you want to know what’s going on that night, check facebook — they post regular video updates on what’s on tap, the specials for the night and anything else planned.

Went here for the first time tonight. When we walked in we were asked if we were planning on eating, and then we were told we could sit anywhere. This is a casual bar, and we didn’t expect how great the food would be. My husband liked that there was a great craft beer selection. Our waitress, Krystal, was terrific. We ordered the chicken nachos, Asian soy ginger wings, and a cheeseburger. They were all delicious. It looks like in 2015 they will be offering entertainment, so we will definitely be back and will try some of the other menu options. *** We went back in March 2015, and again have been very happy with the other food selections we tried. Go to Dudley’s!
