Cactus Courtyard

Came here on a Friday night. They have live music and a $ 2 cover for college students. It says that a dress-​code is vigorously enforced. Which in Lubbock seems to mean that guys can wear anything they want (I wore an old college t-​shirt, jeans, and flip-​flops and had no trouble getting in) and the girls get dressed up like they’re going to a club.
The band that was playing that night (not sure their name) was really good, and while they were not playing the DJ spun some good old fashioned club music (mostly hip-​hop). By around midnight the place was pretty crowded, but not so much so that you couldn’t find a table or easily get a beer from the makeshift bar. We were told that this was slow for a Friday, which makes sense since this is a college town and school’s not in session.
Overall, great for a night, but if this was the best place in town I’d probably get bored.
