Good all around location right off the loop with plenty of decent restaurants nearby. Rooms are a little nicer than the Hampton Inn next door(bathroom is much nicer and bigger too), plus free fresh baked cookies. Ask for free app coupons from Applebees next door.

I stay nearly 300 nights a year on the road all of which are Marriott properties. This hotel is probably one of Marriott’s worst run. I’ve stayed there 3 times only because it’s close to my project. Front desk associate, big guy, loud, overbearing, rude, name might be Cory. Likes to blame«corporate» for everything. Booked a double queen. 2 sets of towels! 1 packet of regular coffee… makes one whole cup! No lotion. Elevator and halls dirty. Definitely not up to Marriott’s standards. Hotel is older and could be nice if run by better people. Corporate rate high too! Contacted their sales department for frequent stay rates but have yet to get a callback. Marriott’s satisfaction guarantee means nothing here.

We booked a king size«suite», which cost the same as a room at the Overton, which is the nicest hotel in Lubbock. The Fairfield does not compete with the Overton and I thought the suite would be larger. It was enough room to sleep 4 with the fold out couch, no more. The room was clean. Breakfast included more than a typical continental breakfast(waffles, oatmeal, sausage and eggs, baked goods, cereal, and yogurt). The pool is indoor. The hot tub was very dirty and the jets did not turn on. We might stay there again, but the rate would have to be cheaper than what I paid this trip. Mostly courteous staff. The desk clerk Saturday night was on the phone having personal phone conversations and made guests wait for her to finish. Otherwise, excellent staff.
