I went here while I was in town for class, and staying at the Overton. It is convenient and quick for the quality of the food. I ordered the pork chops, and the portion size was huge! Plenty of food for $ 18. Our waitress, Bille was great. She kept our waters filled, and checked on us the whole time. Will most likely eat here again when I’m in town next month.

Terrible Margarita with matching bartender. Over priced under delivered hotel bar. Hotel room very clean and comfortable. Will stay here again soon.

This is an ok hotel restaurant. Not over priced like most places. The basic brunch is $ 12 and the buffet brunch is $ 19 and includes the basic items as well. The basic brunch is ok. The eggs look like that fake foam bubbly stuff but the bacon, sausage, fruit, oatmeal, waffles, etc are decent. The seating at the tables is comfy and there’s plenty of space for large groups. The décor is a cute Texas theme fitting to west Texas. Service is absolutely horrible. It takes a while to get dirty plates removed and even longer to get a water refilled. For breakfast you’ll wait 20 – 30 minutes for a table of two because they don’t bus tables quick enough. Overall a decent place to eat breakfast. Prices aren’t horrible and the food is ok. If you can overlook the service you’ll have a decent time.

When I first read the following on the menu, my stomach turned. «Poached eggs, homemade chorizo, fried green tomatoes, and tomato grits» I thought, what the hell! I’ll try anything once! This was the most amazing breakfast I have ever had in my life! I absolutely love every bite! I will definitely be back

It’s called the west Texas way of life. It’s a little slower. Stop by and you’ll understand. Still enjoyable… Just slower. I wish I knew why.

The new Executive chef is going to make this place incredible. We had a 4 top table at almost closing but they welcomed us anyway. The waiter was attentive and made sure we had every thing we needed at all times. I ordered the flounder stuffed with blue point crab. It was vividly arranged on the plate! The taste was amazing! We also had a brisket quesadilla with their peach salsa at our table. That salsa is exceptional! My husband ordered the barbecue spud with brisket. That was the largest baked potato piled with loads of meat that I have ever seen. It must have been incredible because he ate every single bite of it. I expect that since there is a new executive chef, there will be a new menu to come. I can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeves! Love this place!

Quick tips: If you are staying at the Overton hotel in Lubbock, you may realize your options are limited and you end up at the Pecan Grill.. The food was mediocre, service was okay, and the funniest part of the lunch was when the waitress prounounced pico de gallo — as «gal-oh». Oh Toto, we aren’t in Kansas anymore. Food: I got the Cobb salad which was okay. They gave you a side of dressing that was enough for a small village. I wonder if they would have put that much dressing on my salad if I didn’t get it on the side. They also have a buffet that might have been a better option. The lunch price was 10.95. Service: Meh — after waiting around for the hostess, we sat ourselves. Ambiance: The Overton hotel generally is kind of cute with this southern charm meets modern feel. The restaurant wasn’t any different. Pretty much speaks for the service the entire lunch.
