Lake Park

I’ve lived in CArrollwood for 9-​years and this was my first time at this park. It’s really big. When I first drive in, I turned to the right and found a great playground. There was no one around so I checked it out while waiting for my friend. It turns out she turned left upon entering so I got back in my car and drove to the other side. There was a smaller playground there but the equipment wasn’t as good as the first one I found. There an exercise trail with signs and some equipment to follow along with the exercises. We only did the warm ups then just walked. We turned around after 1 ¼ miles so was walked a total of 2.5 miles. It’s really pretty. We finished our walk just before the park closed at 7pm and it was starting to get buggy. Nice place for a long walk. We’ll be back. Note; there was one closed road due to flooding. It hasn’t rained in a while so I wonder if its leftover from the crazy 6 weeks of rain we had a bit back

Large park with a serviceable archery range. Some of the areas have been kept up better than others, but even though the target I used was pretty sad, it stopped the arrows and I could park right next to the individual lane. Places to launch kayaks and canoes and trails for walking– I’ll definitely be back.

This is a great large park capable of housing many activities. Large amounts of parking space if your looking for group activities. Here that have a house arena, R/​C car track, play grounds, walking trails, running paths, open fields and an archery area.
I have heard about there archery field here but just recently been able to visit. Lots of space to shoot around. two 20 years, one 25 yards, one 30 yards, one 35 yards, one 40 yards. but each target is large enough for at least two people to shoot on it. The trees around the range protect it a little from wind, but the wind still gets in, it is an outdoor range after all. Along with the range there are also trails with random backstops along the way. My guess is its to place 3-​D targets or whatever for a different type of shooting if you wanted that. There are also bathroom facilities in the archery area. Just FYI this is not a place for runner, bikers, dog walkers, or the regular park go’er because of the inherent danger that comes along with fast projectiles. But if your into archery this is a great place to go.
Also you should know it cost $ 2 per vehicle right now, which to me is worth a fun day at the park.

This is a nice park. I believe there is $ 2 parking charge. There is a nice trail that horseshoes around but does not form a complete loop, which is kind of a bummer. There is also a BMX area, a boat launch, and water views. There are picnic areas, with grills and a playground. The park’s website says horse trails are at the park and archery.
Lake Park is another nice green gem in increasingly developed Tampa. Hopefully they will make a proper loop of the trail, otherwise it’s a lovely area.

Not sure if the write ups should combined or whatever, but it’s not just a BMX park as the other reviewer noted and I think Lake Park is the proper name.
