Great lunch specials! The mole is my favorite, it is made from scratch. I just moved here from Los Angeles, and while not as spicy it is authentic and flavorful. Nice cozy atmosphere.

I have to say that this is very good food, I ordered for delivery, delivery was good as I’m a bit far from them but got here in reasonable time, got the tostadas and the enchiladas, and both were very very tasty, and you do get your moneys worth, the 2 orders are more than enough for 2 people, will be ordering again.

Definitely my new favorite place for good Mexican food. Guacamole is perfect and made to order. Molé sauce is delicious with a nice kick. Some of the best fajitas I’ve had, loaded with meat unlike most other places. And the portions are large… I will have at least another meal out of my leftovers.

Very fresh and delicious. The prices are worth the quality served by the restaurant. I order Shrimp Mexicana and it came with two faced grilled shrimps cooked with onions and tomatoes. Love the way chef grilled a complete jalapeño and served it as a side. The service is not that quick which is understandable for the freshness and the quality of food. I will be trying many more things on the menu and keep it posted. Suggestion for the restaurant — Need to add some fish entrees in the menu

3.5 stars. The food here is pretty good but it’s far from the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I found the menu to be a bit uninteresting. I had a chorizo burrito(which they nicely accommodated as a bowl without a tortilla) that was solid. The red and green sauces on the table were the stars of the show for sure. Guacamole wasn’t bad either. I wish the atmosphere was nicer. This place looks nicer from the outside than it is on the inside. The open kitchen is loud and smoky, and the décor looks as if someone googled«how to decorate a Mexican restaurant» and stopped reading halfway down the page. So as long as you know that this isn’t fine dining, you WILL be fine. Lots of people were stopping in to pickup food. BYOB. I wouldn’t go out of my way but if I was in the area and wanted Mexican food, I would definitely consider stopping in.

Lovely small Mexican restaurant. We had chicken enchiladas and a beef burrito. They offered nachos with salsa before the food arrived. The portions were generous and we left full. We agreed with other customers that the food was tasty and very fresh. The chicken in my enchilada was freshly fork shredded chicken breast. I would visit again. No alcohol.

I’m going with a 3 to start since I’d like to go back and try more of the menu. We kept it pretty simple tonite since neither of us was that hungry. The chips and salsa for the table was ok. Seemed fresh chopped, but I think there could have been a little more salsa. Somehow we both decided on the green sauce chicken enchiladas. A decent sized plate with plenty of sauce and topped with what I think was queso fresco and either sour cream or crème fraîche(probably sour cream). I’m not a sour cream fan, but it wasn’t overpowering. The green sauce was quite good, slightly spicy. The side of rice and beans was ok. The rice seemed fairly plain, so mixing with the beans was a help. Decent prices, so I’d like to explore more of the menu.

I’ve eaten about everything on the menu in the past year. Still say hands down best Mexican in the area. The prices are fair for the quality. Delivery is reasonable to quick, and they now have a very cool pay with card at your front door option-love this as I have reading the number to someone over the phone and then my info is on some scrap of paper at the restaurant. Love this so much. Tonight I’m having the chicken flautas with their amazing green sauce on the side. Hubby got his usual chicken tacos and the sounds of pleasure emanating from him are kinda sexy. You know the food is good when plain of chicken tacos can make a grown man groan with pleasure. Yum was uttered at least a half dozen times between us. Don’t know if it is just hitting the spot after a few weeks of holiday eating, but this is just perfect. 30 minutes to my door and I didn’t dirty a pan.

Mariachi Grill is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. My review is based on coming to this restaurant numerous times and takeout experiences. Parking is a little tough. Located next to the Kingsland train station in Lyndhurst. The décor is colorful and really nice. The restaurant is clean and the staff is always very friendly. The owner is always walking around greeting tables and making sure everyone is happy with the service. The restaurant is BYOB… what else could you ask for? The food is delicious and inexpensive. The fresh guacamole with hot chips and salsa is off the hook! A nice big bowl of guacamole with endless chips is a nice way to start the meal. The entrees are always delicious. Chicken quesadillas, chicken or beef enchiladas, empanadas are excellent. Always fresh, full of flavor, and nice sized portions. We had the churros for dessert last night. I was stuffed from dinner but couldn’t help myself. So good! A few months ago we did the take out. It didn’t take long for delivery and the food was hot. We were missing an item and they came back within minutes. Awesome Job! Last night it took our food almost an hour to come out. It was a little annoying and the people next to us came in after us and got their food first. Normally this would make me give them one less star but everyone is allowed a hiccup. The staff was very nice and professional about it. They repeatedly apologized and brought us a fresh bowl of chips and salsa and free refill of sodas. The restaurant was extremely busy and not one open seat in the house. It was worthy the wait! Check out Mariachi’s…you won’t be sorry. Delicious food and awesome service! Can’t wait to go back.

Came to Mariachi grill on a Friday night with my college besties for a dinner reunion. While we waited for 3 of the 6 to arrive we had nachos and guacamole. It was so delicious that we couldn’t bare the idea to save any for the rest of our friends. It was gone by their arrival. For dinner, I had the fajitas, a few girls ordered quesadillas, others the tacos, and lastly the churrasco. I can’t speak for everyone else, but my fajitas were plentiful and delicious. I had enough to take home to my hubby, who also enjoyed them. The steak was seasoned perfectly, the sides delicious, and the best sour cream ever. I look forward to returning to Mariachi grill for some delicious food. P.s, they’re a byob, even better!!!;

Big portions, good prices and casual atmosphere. First off I love how the guacamole is only $ 3.95 and they give you an ample amount. However the $ 2.95 charge for the tiny side of sour cream is a different story… The portions are on point for the price tag. I enjoyed the chicken tostadas a lot. The torillas on the tacos were really good. I didn’t love the carnitas meat though. I would get the tacos again, but with chicken. They give you verde and red sauce on each table. Those are fabulous! The salsa is alright — chips good. The staff us friendly and the atmosphere is very casual. BYOB

The décor is colorful and cute with light Spanish music playing in the background. They offered lunch prices in the afternoon but they do not apply on the weekend. I ordered the chickens Tostados which were quite large and tasted yummy. My sister got the carnitas tacos but we both agreed that the meat wasn’t that great tasting — kind of chewy too. We ordered a side of guacamole. It was only $ 4 and delicious! The free tortilla chips were great too as well as the homemade sauces that were on the table. We asked for a side of sour cream and were charged $ 3 for about two tablespoons worth. :/ I’d come back!

My favorite Mexican restaurant! First it’s a BYOB! I love that. So come with your own booze then the food is so fresh and filling. I adore this little place. I wish they had one in downtown Newark. We need more great tasting authentic restaurants with excellent service. I will always be back!

We were in town for the night, and I learned about this place from all the great Unilocal reviews. We decided to give it a try. One of the Unilocal reviewers mentioned its BYOB, so we went down the street to Lindhurst and picked up a bottle of wine before going. The server was very nice, and all night delivered great service. The chips, salsa and guacamole she delivered at the start, were excellent. The atmosphere is nice, fairly quiet and on the street. We were delivered our entrees, the Cielo Mar y Tierra and the Cammerones a la mexicana. For both of the entrees the shrimp was excellent. Butterflied with a garlic glaze. The chicken was tender, flattened but also very good. Overall we were very happy with the meals, but the steak was bad. The steak looked appealing, and when I cut into it, appeared to be cooked medium rare as I had asked. Unfortunately the flavor tasted like the steak had turned, and was very gristly. If it weren’t for the steak, I would have given this place at least 4 stars.

Stopped here last night and loved it. This place is small with an open kitchen. I really liked the fresh hot chips and fresh salsa. The salsa was so flavorful. The restaurant was able to make the enchiladas vegetarian for me and they were delicious! Thanks for all the previous Unilocalers who recommended the place!
