What a great surprise! Some of the nicest people you could meet! The guacamole is probably the best I have had! So fresh! Food was cooked to order and we were all very pleased with our food! Delicious! We will be back!

This place is a dump. I don’t recommend to nobody. I spend $ 41.03 for lousy food. I make complain, no apology, I left the food there. You can’t trust Unilocal, sometimes say the place is 4 or 5 star and then isn’t true.

I just moved a few miles away. This is my favorite restaurant I’ve found so far. The food is really really good. I had the paella. Unbelievably delicious. I had enough left over for two more meals. The restaurant is very very clean. The service is perfect, friendly, and helpful. Also it’s byob, so inexpensive.

My girlfriend and I come here several times a year. Wonderful Mexican food, authentic Spanish paella, great appetizers, including Chorizo and perfect sweet fried plantains. The lady up front is always nice and treats us well, and remembers us. I assume it’s her husband in the back cooking. Try their refreshers!

Most authentic Hispanic food I’ve had in a long time, feels like I was eating my moms cooking. Love this place!

One word: Churassco(Skirt steak cooked Medium with yellow rice, black beans, sautéed onions, and sweet plantains) — OMG steak was cooked perfectly, seasoning spot on… juicy…great side of the rice and beans… Onion was yummy… wasn’t raw… and the sweet plantains… oh man… they weren’t greasy… let’s just say I wanted more! Beef empanadas I heard were very tasty… my husband and daughter shared an order… came with 2. The reason for 4 stars only was because I wasn’t so fond of the chicken tacos… it was lacking seasoning on the chicken. It needed some kick to it. It was $ 9 and it came with 3 soft tacos… not bad. The service was great… so friendly. The place was literally on the corner on riverside ave… place had about 7 tables… very colorful but dim inside. They also provide a few specials. I definitely want to come back and try their paella and more. Definitely look up their menu and Call and place your order… that helps too!

This is a great place to go for good authentic Spanish and Mexican food. The place is small and not too many tables but the food is great. I have been there three times in the last month and every time the food has been great. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend this place.

One of our favorite Mexican restaurants closed down a few years ago and my wife and I have been in search of a new goto place. We decided to finally try Paellas Café after driving past it numerous times. Food Quality: Tortillas are really fresh. Vegetable garnish for tacos are also crisp and refreshing. Including limes to our order without having to request them is a plus. I had the mole sauce and I personally think a good mole sauce can make or break a Mexican restaurant. In this case it’s amazing. Rice is fluffy and perfectly seasoned. Beans always seem freshly cooked and not like they’ve been cooked in the morning and has been sitting all day. Serving size for the price is great. Service: We have only ordered for delivery and pickup. For pickup the order was ready promptly. Really friendly. DON’T ORDERDELIVERY! I recently ordered delivery and I had to call after an hour and they were still finishing the order in the kitchen. No warning upon ordering that they’re busy, no call to tell them they’re running late and no apology when food finally arrived 1.5 hours after I called. They did however discount my appetizer as compensation. However the food was hot and still as good as my review stated above. Conclusion: I absolutely recommend this place but just not for delivery. We’ll continue to go back because we love the food.

This place is awesome! I’ve driven by Paella’s Café at least a hundred times over the past two years, but never thought to stop in until a few weeks ago. Well, since then, we’ve now been back 3 more times! The menu is half Spanish food and half Mexican food, but my husband and I have only tried the Mexican food so far — it’s all been delicious. Their chicken enchiladas with mole sauce are to die for, honestly the best mole sauce I’ve ever had in my entire life. Everything we have ordered has been homemade with fresh ingredients, right down to the salsa and chips they give you at the start of your meal(for free!). Don’t let the size of this café fool you — it is on the smaller side, but cozy inside and very clean. It is also BYOB, and since they have piña coladas on the menu that do not contain alcohol, you may want to bring malibu rum with you for an adult beverage. Delivery service is also available in North Arlington and Lyndhurst, or you can of course call ahead and pick up if you don’t want to eat there.

This café has become one of our favorite regular restaurants. The smoky issue we had experienced on our first venture there seems to have been remedied. On our last visit, they were doing the grilling outdoors. A great great place. We have not been disappointed with anything on the menu yet.

First time here and my family and I love it! They start you off with delicious tortilla chips with freshly made salsa… Mmmm yummy! My Husband ordered Pallomilla I believe it’s called. Thin steak with onions and sweet plantains. Came with rice & beans but he got a salad instead and the salad was fresh and delicious. I got the Skirt Steak(Churrasco) with sweet plaintains and rice and beans. Ordered a Chicken empanada… As a Puerto Rican/Domincan… I’ve tried a lot of empanadas… The ones from here were my favorite!!! I have never had a chicken empanada soooo yummy! Will def return!

This updated review brings five stars with it. We’ve been here a number of times since my last review and, on each occasion, the treatment we received and the assortment of dishes ordered got better and better. The server/owner, who knows we are vegetarian from our previous visits, let us know that she prepared a «chorizo» made of soy protein. Indicating that she can prepare anything with it: burritos, enchiladas, flautas, quesadilla, tacos… needless to say we were sold. We went for the tacos and a dish that is named after a Mexican sandal. It was a bit like an arepa, only a bit crispier with the soy chorizo, cheese, sour cream, onion and cilantro piled on top. The flavor profile was awesome, and she did a great job in replicating the flavors of chorizo. The same for the tacos: corn tortillas topped with soy chorizo, chopped onion, cilantro, and wedges of lime. Equally great. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, they’ll have freshly prepared horchata. It’s a sort of rice milk with sugar and cinnamon. Ask about the specials, as they change week to week. One time we had a grilled cactus and avocado salad. It wasn’t on the menu, but she asked if we’d like to try it. Considering that we’d never had anything less than really good here, we went for it. Warm service, cooking with talent, fine atmosphere, clean place… it’s got my vote a the best Mexican grub in the area. Get your butt over there.
