This place exceeded my expectations. The banana pancakes are nothing short of a miracle. Good service, friendly staff and a wide variety of menu items

Absolutely loved this place! Everything about it, the food, the tea, the décor just everything! Had the Nutella French toast sooo delicious. Love the tea pots. Definitely going back soon.

5 stars for atmosphere and great coffee, although I never received a refill. Food was good(sent my «over hard» eggs back because they came to me over easy). Waitress never checked on us and was a tad salty, so I asked another gal to please cook my eggs more. They came back perfect this time. Was charged for bacon, although the specials board said it came with. She wasn’t terribly welcoming, so didn’t even point it out. I’d definitely try this place again.

Ah Damn, this place is closing the end of November to bad. This is like eating at grandma’s house only better. I bet you can get a hug. Thx for the service. We loved it and stopped by because of Unilocal reviews. And we’re from Utah and in vacation.

Call me a bully but my review still stands… Your place was filled with knick knacks covered in dust, your«professional staff» pulled out the vacuum and started vacuuming as we were seated… Not at all a welcoming experience. There is no favoritism towards Christopher’s … I would call that place out as well if they warranted it… But they consistently exceed expectations. Best wishes for your next endeavor, but I would suggest getting out of food service and staying away from food service. Perhaps the women’s prison is hiring?

Came here on a Sunday morning around 10:30. There was one group in front of us; we(group of 3) waited about 15 minutes and was able to sit down. Pretty decent, we thought, for a place that had 4 stars and so many great reviews. The décor of the place is absolutely charming. It’s like walking into a disney house — in fact, they even have two TV’s playing something disney related! There were shelves and shelves full of hot sauces. As a lover of all things spicy, this made me soooo happy! As we waited for food, I sorted through all the sauces and picked the ones I wanted to try on my omelet. And after I finished going through the sauces, the food was nowhere close to being served. No problem. I chug through my 2nd cup of coffee(huge cups), my stomach is growling by now, still no food. At 20 min of wait, the waiter comes to us and clarifies about a side one of us got. So after 20 minutes, our order wasn’t even being cooked yet!!! There were maybe 4 groups in front of us, it’s not a huge place with 100 people! As the place takes cash only, we got up and went to a corner convenience store to withdraw cash. After we get cash, the food should be done right? Nope. Took about 40 minutes from order(not sit down!) for food to appear. The food was great, ambiance is awesome, service decent. But no matter how good the food, if you make customers wait that long for food, it’s not a 4+ star place!

Despite being a major Unilocal fan I don’t often leave reviews myself. However, mildreds is a whole nother story. Having been a consistent mildreds customer for over 10 years I can honestly say mildreds holds a special place in my heart. No matter what u decide to get here the food is consistently out of this world, and accompanied by the charm and homey feel that is mildreds. The crack pancakes… well the name just says it all. I have tried multiple times to recreate this piece of heaven and haven’t even come close, nothing beats a mildreds crack pancake. Other favorites include huevos rancheros and south west Benedict, but really I can confidently say you cannot go wrong. Before you empty your wallet at other sub par(and much more expensive) breakfast restaurants seriously give mildreds a try. You will not regret it.

Food was all right. Not empressed of the omlet. Little bit on dry side. Toast was burned. Pancakes was greasy. Sousage was decent.

Awesome breakfast. My friend got the cinnamon swirl pancakes, which were amazing, and I got the pancake special with 2 buttermilk pancakes, 2 eggs and meat of choice. The décor is lime green walls with various quirky paintings and trinkets, very cool.

I have to be more critical this time. Last visit was just mediocre at best. I had spinach/Feta omelette which was pretty good. Grandma had lemon/ricotta/blueberry pancakes with eggs and ham. Pancake was very good but blueberry was frozen and tough skin not good. over easy eggs were way overcooked. Ham was just a slice of cold cuts type ham, again not good. The TV used to be volume turned way down with dialog across the bottom of the screen. This time the volume was turned up, so the place was much louder than normal. Tea was good. But overall, just not as good as it used to be; especially for the high price a customer should expect much better experience.

Delicious. Small and homey. The server we had was so nice and helped find a high chair for my daughter. I cringe when I bring my children to a place, especially a new place BC kids can get restless, however they service was so fast and welcoming and my kids loved it and ask me to take them back. The menu is yummy and they are closed on Mondays I believe and its cash only. Overall a very cute and affordable family welcoming place.

The place has a nice homey feel to it. However the food is okay! I ordered spanish omelette and it was alright.. The side of potatoes was not seasoned well but thankfully they have a nice little selection of hot sauces on each table and I did utilize it utmost. My friend had blueberry pancakes and again the home feel kicks in.(if I want that feeling I’d cook at home!!) Will I come back? Not really.

Quaint little place in Lynn with very nice waitresses and an awesome hot sauce selection to pair with your food. Not the best brunch I’ve ever had but it is a solid place to go to around this area! More of a 3.5 but I’ll give them a .5 for the friendly service and hot sauce collection. Portobello Benedict was a great option for trying to cut out the bread from my brunch. It had exactly what I was looking for runny eggs, hollandaise, and avocado. Home fries were very crispy. All in all I would probably come back if I was in Lynn and looking for brunch.

These days a non-chain restaurant that is also an established and respected neighborhood gem is something to be very very thankful for. Embrace it! Appreciate it! Restaurants like these are few and far between and, if your lucky enough to live nearby, stop by and enjoy this fabulous quirky place often. From reading the reviews here, it looks like most people see the true charm and general awesomeness found at Mildred’s. It’s not«perfect», like an automated chain restaurant which turns out consistent pre-fab food in a predictable atmosphere. If you want that, go to iHop or something. What you get here is a seat at a very funky neighborhood kitchen table. There may be a line for that seat; it’s a small place. You can wait in a row of old theater chairs. Browse at some antiques. Around you will be chatter, banter, laughter, vintage flicks playing in the background. When you get your food it may or may not be on mismatched dishes, but they are always spotless. Your meal will be delicious(if it isn’t, you are there on a rare day… but as I said, it ain’t a predictable chain restaurant and the food is handmade by people who are human). I read a few picky reviews here about soggy food or attitude problems. Personally I pay no attention to outlier one-star reviews… I don’t care how«awful» your experience seems, if you have enough money to go out to eat and someone is willing to put a plate a food in front of you for a very reasonable price when so many others in the world are starving and suffering in countless ways I don’t see how the experience could be all THAT horrid. If everything in your world has to be perfect and you must trash hard working folk that’s your problem. Believe me, the people that serve you in small shops like this are probably not having a hunky dory day all the time… they work hard! I have been a customer here for about 13 years(as have many others) and I’ve always left the place happier than I came in. If it’s your first time eating here you will be delighted. You will be charmed. If you have the«crack pancakes» or try one of the amazing varieties of teas or your favorite old movie is playing while you dine, you may even be instantly addicted.

With that sort of attitude, My typos? really? that’s what you comment on. I’m a successful business owner myself with all 5 star reviews. I would never post such a rude comment as you have. Your not doing yourself any favors. If it were me, I would have asked for a suggestion on how to make things better and apologize for a poor experience and explain how I would work harder to make the next experience excellent! I will not be returning again. I may have actually come back for an average place. I have in fact been to many places including many 5 star places! With a chef in the family we do I fact know what good food taste like. And yours isn’t it! Good luck in your ventures and I hope you work on your attitude! I encourage people to stay away until then!

Mildred’s has the best breakfast in the Lynn/Salem area. There, I said it. I’ve been to most places around. Only one that rivals is Maria’s place. Mildred’s has a great selection, great atmosphere and excellent service. The coffee is good too. My favorite is the eggs florentine. My girl enjoys the everyday special. The only negative is that it can get a little chilly near or around the door. As stated before. Cash only.

This was my first at Mildred’s. It’s a cozy spot, but bring your cash because they don’t accept any plastic. After ordering, it took forever to get our food. We had some great entertainment while waiting as Hello Dolly played on their multiple television sets. It doesn’t make up for the fact that the two couples that came in after us already had their food when I had to inquire about mine. Food came and my food tasted excellent but was not presented as ordered. I ordered medium steak tips and they were definitely well done. They were tasty. My husband’s food was cold and had to be redone. The owner was very gracious and did not charge us for the less than desirable food and service. That gesture earned the extra star that was lost due to the food snafu. I will return.

Just not that stellar is all. Home fries need work, croissant florentine is simply not good, despite a second try. Real maple syrup would be a big help. Still quirky and cool.
