Have been going here since about 1987. Yes, ’87. Wouldn’t dream of going elsewhere. Dr. Hyde is «my guy» but I have seen Dr. Pfeifer as well and was very pleased. Over the years, staff has obviously changed but remains professional, yet friendly. I have no hesitations at recommending this office. My husband would agree!

I’ve been going to this clinic for a couple years now. I have been nothing but pleased. Drs are knowledgable and kind. I always feel valued as a patient each time I visit. I have an astigmatism which can make finding comfortable contacts tricky. It took us a while to find the right ones, but they found exactly what I needed and I couldn’t be happier. I even had a situation where I was unable to pick up my contacts and they gave me some trials to tie me over. I will continue to go to Vision Source.

First timer and all I can say is, they have outstanding customer service! Dr. McKinney was very nice and thorough with my exam! She and her assistant explained to me what certain instruments were used for and why they were being used.
I can honestly say every person I spoke with was genuinely nice and helpful. Lisa was so kind in answering all my questions (I believe she works front desk). And Paul who helped me find glasses was also great and understanding!

I stopped by this store earlier this week to have someone look at my glasses as the frame was cracked. I am new to the area, so I just picked a place that was close.
I was helped by Melody, who happened to be the rudest, most condescending person I have ever met. She was so rude to me that I walked out pretty much mid sentence as I knew that her objective was not to actually help me, but treat me like crap.
The Drs at this location really needs to make better staffing decisions in keeping someone like Melody employed. She is going to make countless more people flee as fast as they can from their office.
I won’t be back and will take my future business elsewhere because solely because of her.

Great service and convenient location. They truly go the extra mile to provide a top notch service. Great selection of eye wear, too and at very reasonable prices. Plus they take my insurance! :)

Worst customer service bought glasses from them and a piece on my glasses broke and they can’t fix them as they no longer carry them and they are only 2 years old, and we had to wait a half hour to find this out. Will not go back there

New patient here! After years of going to another optometrist/​optical. Everything about Alderwood Vision is aimed at the customer and in a good way! The front staff welcome you in right away and are so helpful with scheduling/​payment. The techs are some of the nicest people but Dr Hyde is just the best you could ask for. I have difficult contacts and have had to go back several times to tweak my lenses/​prescription. He considers this part of the entire visit and has no problem making it right, no matter how long it takes! They want customers for life and it shows!
Great hours too — because they are open two evenings a week so there are times for every schedule.

I’ve been a patient here for years. Dr. Pfiefer is the best. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the doctors are fantastic and their prices are competitive. Going to the eye doctor is not my favorite thing but they make it easy and always get it right.

I have been coming to these folks for quite a while now and I actually look forward to going to see them. Great bunch of true professionals.

Front desk service sucks. It seems like they want do the whole eye exam for no reason. While scheduling my appt. I specially told them its for contacts only and they said np. Took couple of hours off work, got there on time to find out they wanna do the whole exam and wouldn’t budge even tho I was a repeat customer. I walked out. What a shame. No way to run a decent business

I’ve been coming here for over a decade, and every visit reminds me why I have never left. My most recent visit was to get new glasses after mine had been stolen, among many other things, when my car was broken into. Dr. Hyde made sure I was taken care of, and the wonderful woman who helped me find glasses set me up so that I could afford everything I needed. I’m also normally extremely picky and somewhat controlling when it comes to picking things out for myself, but she wound up picking out the two pairs of glasses AND the sunglasses I wound up going with. I was thoroughly impressed, but not surprised. A++++

It was my first time at Alderwood Vision Source. You can schedule your appointment on line, which I thought was very convenient. When I arrived there, they were very professional and friendly. Dr Hyde and his assistant were very friendly and explained exactly what they were doing and why. The assistant figure out all the insurance issues and let you know right up front what the cost would be. Paul the guy that helped finds you what glasses you want, has a great fashion sense, and awesome accent. I would recommend alderwood vision source.

I have been a patient at Vision Source For several years now and have always found the Doctors and staff to be very competent and helpful. I recommend them highly!

Not unlike another reviewer, I’ve been a fan of AV as well as of Dr Hyde. He and I go waaaay back… in fact, I’ve known him longer than I’ve known my husband! I would never go anywhere else… and I happily refer friends and family to the office. Dr Hyde and his staff have always taken great care of me.

Wow Loved Dr. Hyde! He saw both my son and I. The entire office was professional and great to work with. My son got new glasses and I just had new lenses but in mine. They were helpful and the prices were better then Costco (where I usually get my glasses). I have switched over my family to Dr. Hyde! Thank you!

Fairly easy to make your appointment. What they don’t tell you is that you have to pay for your copay and then also $ 41 extra for your prescription. Not the actual contacts themselves or your glasses but the actual prescription piece of paper. It would be ask if your doctor hands you the prescription paper and you have to pay a fee for getting it.

This is my 100^th 5-​star review, which seems appropriate for a place that I have been going for 25+ years. They recently moved to a new facility off of 196^th, just past the McDonalds. There is plenty of easy parking available, and the new space is nicely laid out — although the mannequin right inside the door made me jump a little.
I usually see Dr. Hyde, although Dr. Pfeifer is also excellent. Both truly care about your eye health and take the time to make sure that you understand and are comfortable with everything. One time, I had to change contact lens brands due to my usual kind being discontinued, and Dr. Pfeifer probably tried six or seven different brands before we found one that worked. I’m sure that put him behind schedule, but he never let on and wanted to be sure I was comfortable with the ones we finally settled on. They do sell glasses and contacts in-​office, but there is no high pressure sales and if you tell them you want to to go to Costco or elsewhere, they will happily print off your prescription for you (or fax it).
The staff is always friendly and helpful, and they keep up with the latest technologies for good ocular health. The clinic is open late (until 8pm) on Thursdays for people who can’t or don’t want to take time off of work. My entire family goes here and I would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone looking for an eye doctor in Lynnwood.

After I had my eye exam at Vision Source, I purchased contacts lenses, prescription sunglasses, and eye glasses from them. The level of attention, selection, and service was exceptionally good and I’ve always been picky especially about finding comfortable contact lenses.
They provided detailed info about plus and minus for each contact lenses brand (above and beyond others have done for me in the past) and gave me plenty of options to choose from. You won’t feel like you are an inventory in a factory.
Susan and David are opticians who work there and are very courteous, professional, and responsive. When I had an unforeseen issue with my glasses, they promptly helped me use the warranty to get a replacement. They are not in a rush to get you out the door and are genuinely nice people.

Dr. Hyde’s outgoing personality and modern optometry practice actually make me excited for yearly eye exams. It all started at my first visit when Dr. Hyde explained how the cool new OptoMap machine meant I didn’t need to have my eyes dilated during the exam. Yep, no eye drops, no silly sun glasses, no headache.
Instead, the machine takes a digital picture of your eye bits. Then, you get to see that picture on a monitor while the Dr. Hyde points out what’s being examined. It’s pretty awesome. All your pictures from previous eye exams are also available, so any changes or trends can be compared side to side.
Aside from that example of embracing all the newest tech (I love dentists, optometrists, and general practitioners that geek out with their profession’s gadgets), Dr. Hyde’s staff is top notch. There’s always a nice greeting from someone at front desk, appointments are easy to schedule, and my insurance (VSP) is handled without issue.
Location is the only downside to Dr. Hyde’s practice — this office is a bit outside downtown Seattle, but well worth the drive.
