Terrible. Very unorganized place. Didn’t get what I ordered. Asked to speak to ‘Benny’ the owner. Was told he was too busy to speak with me. Not a happy customer. Involved with bowling alley next door-will let fellow teammates know to go elsewhere. Nobody has time for that sort of treatment as a paying customer.

This is a family-owned bar in Landing, IN that also has a restaurant and a small gaming area. The staff here is very nice and the bar food is pretty good. The place was packed on a Friday night. I can see why when my buds and I ate pizza, quesadillas, wings, and drank all night for $ 100…not bad compared to Chicago prices. Would love to come again sometime when I am in the area!

Bennys has a pretty good pizza considering the choices in the area… it would get 4 stars for the pizza ! But the rest of the bar is about what you would expect from a neighborhood type bar in Lynwood. Bar tenders are nice but really a pet peeve of mine is bartenders listening and joining in conversations. Also owners or managers drinking at the bar being loud and obnoxious is a turn off… but it’s overall not a bad place to just get a drink or food if your in the dive bar mood !

I’ve been here quite a few times. Mainly because the drinks are cheap, bartenders are friendly assholes, and the chef makes all of the delicious dishes with PUREHEAVYMETALHATRED!!! He makes the food with such fury, the flavor molecules have no choice, but to submit to his will… Well done Benny’s Place… Well done

I like Benny’s Place. Not Love yet… but like. Here’s the skinny: Cheap(ish) drinks Reasonably clean. Good staff and customers. Kitchen closes at 9:00PM Here’s the fat: Drinks are legit and well priced to sell. $ 2 something for a bottle of Goose Island 312 beer. The Jäger bombs came in an ugly plastic cup(pic: ) but, they were tasty and not overly Jägery which is nice. The bar top and tables are clean enough to satisfy the average patron however, they are not«Spotless». The Men’s room could use some help, not TOO bad though. Oh, and the«novelty» vending machine in there was delightfully tacky. The back patio is pretty neat in the summer, plenty of bar games there. Being in IL, there is no smoking inside the bar so there is a covered part which is essentially a shed with roll up door. Heated on occasion too. The bartenders that we’ve had there are nice and easy to talk to. I actually went to High School with one of them(small world) and the customers are your average Joe’s and Jane’s for the most part. Everyone seems to get along even if you’re the newcomer. The kitchen closes at 9:00PM which is unfortunate for me because I hear they’ve got some pretty good food. I’ve got to get there earlier some time to try it out. Benny’s is going to be a spot me and some buddies hit up once in a while for sure. Come check it out if you’re near Lynwood. #SYOY

Great pizza, good specials pretty much everyday. The bar it self has a tendancy to close early on most days of the week(11 or 12) and the bar tenders who kick everyone out so they can go another bar in the area. A decent amount of smaller sized tvs to watch sports on and quite a bit of seating in the bar and restaurant area.

I’ve been going to Benny’s Place once a year for the past 6 years. Every year I return for Black Wednesday also known as the Thornton Fractional South High School Reunion. It is on this day you will run into more people from high school than you have in the past year. TF South teachers and grads show up to talk about the good olé days and throw a few beers back. They also have a DJ. I usually get there a little early and order the pizza and the sample platter. There is always a special on the pizza and it’s pretty good. The sample platter is pretty good too. You can select 3 appetizers from the menu to be on your platter. The place can get pretty crowded. Benny’s is the place to be on Black Wednesday.
