I never write reviews but I was so disappointed I felt I had to. I ordered the«Maine lobster roll.» What I got was a mix of IMITATION(fake) lobster and/or imitation crab drenched in butter and pepper. Not only was it a misleading bait and switch but it was disgusting. Just wanted to warm people not to buy this.

We ordered the grouper bites and the fresh seafood basket. Both were not fresh and very mediocre. Expect generic tourist food. Pretty good service though, except for the chef he was condescending.

Not Good. Found this place on Living Social and visited at 5:30pm on a Saturday… Not a terribly nice place, if you’re concerned about ambience. Or server was a surfer type with long hair. He was friendly and upbeat. Upon ordering we learned that there was beer and wine, but they were out of wine. They had sangria, from a bottle(what?). They were also out of Grouper for the grouper sandwich, and black olives for the pizza I ordered. The«thin crust pizza» was like something you’d throw together at home, if you were really poor and really hungry. It was spaghetti sauce on a cheap pita, topped with some sort of cheese. Spinach was frozen, not fresh. My date ordered shrimp tacos, two shrimp per taco. We overheard the server telling the table next to us the restrictions on the Groupon they were using — not on specials. Nowhere in the living social or groupon vocher does it say this. Went inside for a moment — dirty. Don’t waste your time, money, or appetite.

Worst lobster roll I ever had in Florida. Bread was not toasted, Lobster was too salty and buttery and the fries were soggy, and the coleslaw was too creamy and old. However, beer was cold and happy hour was a good deal. Cheers!

Don’t eat here!!! Had the«lobster roll», extremely salty with some sort of seasoning, not sure what. Also did not taste like fresh lobster, had imitation crab mixed in, gross! Cole slaw was heavy on the mayo, no mayo in the lobster roll though, go figure! Fries drenched in oil and soggy. Chef needs to google recipes and step it up a few notches also be more clean. Place/kitchen not clean!!! Like to support the local dives but this one not up par. WILLNOT be dining here again.

We visited here last night. I will start by saying that it was late and it was our waitresses first day so even though the service was bad I don’t really take that in to consideration when giving them 2 stars. There are enough reasons aside from the service to rate it poorly. First, the place is horribly dirty. It just felt like a dive diner when we walked in. There is very little seating inside but OK seating outside. The outside was full so we opted to sit in the cramped interior. The interesting part about the interior is that the kitchen is an open concept(you can see them cooking & the whole kitchen). The sad part for us was that we did not take a close look at the kitchen before we decided to eat. It is filthy! I mean seriously nasty greasy gross! Now the food, I ordered the Lobster Roll & the crab soup because of previous Unilocal reviews. That was a mistake! I never got the soup, I think the waitress forgot but my lobster roll was awful. It was served on a hot dog bun! Seriously, I posted a picture because I figured you had to see it believe it. Then I am not sure it was even lobster, most of it tasted like the fake crab leg meat you get at the grocery store. My husband ordered the cuban sandwich which he loved and I had to agree the bite I took was pretty darn good. The fresh cut fries that came with it were also not bad. Our daughter ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer and although it looked way over cooked she did not mind it. To summarize we would not go back nor would we recommed this place to anyone.

First the good: The service was good, very friendly and efficient. The Maryland Crab Chowder was excellent, full of veggies and crab and a nice spicy broth. Now the rest: The first time my girlfriend’s grouper and rice pilaf came out, there was hair in it(the waitress verified it). When it came back out, it had the same piece of grouper on it(she had taken a bite and it was clearly the same piece). Sent it back again. They recooked it and it came out right the third try, but the piece of grouper was tiny and for 20 bucks, way too small. My lobster roll was awful. The lobster was frozen, not fresh(are you kidding me???) and it hadn’t even been thawed out completely. The meat was pale and washed out and it was icy cold. Sent it back. Got a fried seafood platter instead and it was a disaster. The breading on the fish looked like it was magma from the earth’s crust-very thick, dark and waaaay too much. The fried shrimp, which I think might have been good had they, too, not been blanketed with way too much batter, were ruined. The fried clams were rubbery. They did try repeatedly to make it right and even gave us a couple of pieces of cheesecake to go in an effort to make amends, but overall, the food was terrible(except for the crab chowder). The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is that they really did try to make it right, they just were unable to do it. Sorry, but the Terminator won’t be back here. I’m staying in the future.

My wife and I finally made it to Ocean Breeze Grill, with great expectations, driven by the rave reviews on Unilocal. She ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries, which she ate without a positive or negative comment, however, her reaction to the dark, limp, greasy fries, was disgust. I ordered the fried seafood platter, consisting of clams, four shrimp, cod, and fries. The cod and shrimp first appeared to be overcooked, but turned out to be moist and tender inside the dark, crispy outer shell of breading. Unfortunately, the breaded clams were fried to a crunchy, black exterior, covering a tough, inedible excuse for a clam. The fries were overcooked and slightly greasy, but edible. Our server was attentive, although we had to approach her to pay our bill. The«cook» wore a beard cover, and sanitary gloves. A good thing until he touched several items in the dining area and storage room, then returned to the kitchen where he appeared to resume his duties with those same gloves. Our bill was $ 30, of which $ 16.95 was for the failed seafood platter. It’s a shame that we’ll not return to a restaurant so convenient to home, but the appealing décor and beachy ambiance will just not be enough. Considering the volume of 5 star reviews, we must have just eaten here on a «bad day» My wife believes I have been too kind, but it’s my first review. I’ll practice being more critical. I think 2 stars says it all.

The lobster roll was wonderful! The Cuban was good too! The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was over cooked and had minimal peppers on it. The shrimp pasta was mediocre. Overall the place was ok, but would not give it 4 stars like the place was rated.

Amazing my server –Melody and the chief were amazing!!! I went here with a potential client and I was able to sign him thanks to the amazing food from Paul. The she crab soup is authentic and fresh chunks of crab meat. The seafood appetizer was great from start to finish: It had clams shrimp, scallops and I got a crab cake extra thrown in! The atmosphere was very laid back and quiet enough for me to be able to conduct business. I would HIGHLY suggest really everything on the menu — the food is really great and WONDERFUL service — I plan on going back again & again.

Ate a wonderfully prepared Grouper dinner(blackened) at this small, unpretensious, friendly spot tucked along Gulf Blvd., across from Madeira Beach Access Park(where parking is available). My choice of ‘side’ was cole slaw which was very tasty. Spouse enjoyed a delicious cheeseburger, cooked medium-rare as requested and served w lettuce, tomato, onion and french fries. Prices are very affordable, service is friendly and efficient, beer and wine are available.

The downfall about reading reviews from tourists is that they aren’t often accurate. When a guy from the Great Lakes(who’s used to eating fried food from a chain) heads to Florida for vacation and has average food he think it’s amazing. Conversely, when a Florida native(who’s used to eating local seafood or fresh food) comes to a place like this they think average at best. The reviews for this place are skewed and inaccurate. A dozen of them complain about poor food yet give it a 4-star rating. How is that possible? Again, poor tourist ratings. Beware. We were extremely disappointed with the food. The fish and chips was pitiful. The fish was so greasy it had already soaked through the wax paper(or like product). It wasn’t edible. And, the fries came soggier than a soaking sponge and cold as a turkey sandwich. We showed both to the server who was embarrassed they sent these fries(and fish that greasy) to our table. In fact, another server came by and shook her head in disbelief. They told the owner who didn’t seem to care. She didn’t come out to help fix it, offer to recook it or take it off the bill. Terrible customer service. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. The bread was on par with Subway. The sauce tasted canned and the chicken was chewy. In short, there’s far better places to enjoy a meal on the island. This is a spot I wouldn’t return to. Meanwhile, if average food is your thing — you’ll enjoy this place.

Im really confused why my experience here was so bad. we tried this place since all the reviews seemed great. We went for breakfast. Three people. The food was COVERED in grease and dirt from the grill. Little black specks were bigger than pieces of my eggs. The orange juice was generic and tasteless. The home fries tasted like pure grease. The toast was so gross and seemed stale. Im not sure how you ruin toast… But they did. The bill only came to 25 dollars for three plates coffee juice and a mimosa. Which would have been great if the food tasted like food. The staff is friendly but overly talkative and you end up waiting alot. As a local — THISWASTHEWORSTMEALIVEHADINFLORIDA. Im easy to please and no very picky as long as the food is hot and clean I’m happy. It looks like they don’t care about cleanliness or their patrons health. The décor is very cute and they use paper products so you can take your coffee or drink with you. Overall i think most of the positive reviews seem to be for lunch so good luck if you’re there for breakfast. Head to Lisa“s café its only a few blocks down closer to the pass. Ive never had a bad meal there

Ocean Breeze Grill — Madeira Beach(Near Dockside Dave’s) Everyone on Unilocal seems to love to support family owned small business restaurants. Well, I have one for you to support! Full Disclosure — I stopped in here to pick up a bit of business for my John Levique Pirate Days Invasion and Boat Parade( ) because Ocean Breeze Grill, along with Hooters are my Primary sponsors for that event. Isn’t it is great that a newcomer to the landscape of beach eateries is supporting one of our largest yearly events with such vigor! The owners of Ocean Breeze Grill, Robert and Cathy Bears, have jumped in with both feet after having just opened this gem of a restaurant some short 4 months ago in Madeira Beach. They are open for full breakfast(including a buffet), lunch and dinner with seafood and more with a slight New England flair. The Owner Robert is a Boston South Side Native and he obviously cannot deny his«Southy» heritage even if he has lived here in Florida for over 30 years. They invited me to sit and try their signature Lobster Roll which was served with French Fries and a very nice house made cole slaw. From what I am familiar with, in my time in New England, the Roll was correct as was the fresh lobster and the preparation(There is always a debate up in NE about how much mayonnaise to use and such, as I recall). It made for a very tasty meal which was refreshing, especially with the ice cold beer. I have included images of the menu(s) and will be back to try other items.(Check those great prices!). The staff is very attentive(not just for myself, but while I was there, many other diners were seated and tended to with obvious care. The Ocean Breeze Grill wants to become a true locals(not so hidden) treasure and it shows. Great local place to grab a sandwich. The Philly cheese steak sandwich here is really good. But what attracted my attention was the hand cut fries! Great service and great food!
