Arch Apothecary

I have been going to Arch at least once a month for over a year and can’t say enough good things about the staff. You really can’t go wrong with any of them, they are all very knowledgable, professional and great at explaining procedures, along with giving advice. Not only that, the space is beautiful and clean and they carry several beauty lines you can’t find elsewhere. I have been waxed, had blow-​out and received make-​up consultations and have always left very happy. I would highly recommend them.

I’m not giving them 2 stars because of their service. or talents. in fact my daughter and I both loved our blow outs and our eyebrows. We went to celebrate Mother’s Day by having a spa day. Our final bill was $ 170.00 but when I got home I discovered that they had a $ 55 blow out special for mothers and daughters. I made my appointment back in April and it would have been nice for someone to point out this special, especially since I told the person who I booked the appointment that it was for my daughter and me. I’ll go back but that part was disappointing.
*The bill included 2 blow outs, ($ 35 each), 2 tweezed eyebrows, ($ 25 each) 1 eyebrow tint ($ 20) and 1 hairspray.

Terrible service! When I went there they rushed my appointment and I left with my make up not even finished. VERY disappointing.

I was excited the moment this place came into town. I personally had not had anything done with them prior. I met the staff at a bridal show at the Overature. They gave me a gift card that gave a discount on service once they opened. Well, I waited till they opened and was thrilled! The atmosphere is chic and elegant and relaxing. (Just a few of my favorite adjectives…) I can feel perfectly relaxed but feel like I am treating myself… by getting my eyebrows waxed. I chose to use them for my eye brow wax prior to flying for a destination wedding. I went a few times prior as I wanted them perfect. I was impressed as they pulled out the marking pen and measured exactly where my eyebrows should be, where things should keep growth etc etc. Thoroughly catering to my face rather than just wax, wax… you’re done. I love the almond stuff they put on at the end and the touch up of makeup. (LADIES: this is key… as I generally will head off to work after getting them done… keeping it presentable!)

I just stopped in, middle of the afternoon, desperate for a brow wax. (You know that point when you swear your brows are sprouting new weirdnesses by the second…) Katie was friendly, helpful, quick, and I got a great brow wax in a gorgeous space. (Seriously, the space is beautiful. I kinda wanted to lay down on the comfy-​looking couch and take a nap…)
I will definitely go back. I think I’ll try a hair cut next.

I’ve been coming to Arch for a while now (was a fan of the Old Town location when visiting chicago), and I’m a huge fan!
I used to get cuts and color with Cera back when she was at Thorps — she is excellent and runs an amazing addition to the downtown scene for us beauty junkies.
Besides awesome blowouts and brows, the product line selection is amazing. There are some things you just can’t get at Sephora. Also, the product recommendations are wonderful and the staff is very friendly and attentive.

Gorgeous space! staff is amazing. Top of the line brow shaping and overall a great experience. I purchased some makeup here that I couldn’t find elsewhere to boot.

I have been to Arch Apothecary about 5x for a brow wax & have only good things to say about it (except for parking, which is a bit of a hassle). Cera and the other women who work there are very professional and knowledgable. I also appreciate that they aren’t pushing products. And, this place has some NICE albeit pricey products. I brought an out-​of-​town guest here for some brow work and she was treated very well. Great atmosphere. Fair pricing.

I love this place. I just moved to Madison from Chicago and am so glad they opened up here! The brow waxes are excellent and I am going in to have my make up done next week!

After awaiting this incredible beauty store’s arrival on the square for months, I finally went it looking to try somewhere new for waxing and beauty supplies. I work right around the square so this location is ideal.
I walked in and had instant greeting and service. I wanted a brow and lip wax and received the best one ever for only $ 26 which I think is a fair price after having been used to paying around $ 30 in Madison. The aesthetician provided a very detailed service in a unique way.
I was offered a place to hang up my coat and purse and was offered something to drink before starting the waxing. I was sat upright in a well lit space for Tami to provide my waxing around a waxing «bar» like area. She detailed the process of marking out my brows so I knew where I could use some more growth and/​or removal of hair for an ideal arch. She then did the waxing with non irritating wax and oils then took the time to teach me afterwards how to draw in my eyebrows being sure to teach me using the things I’d have at home.
Afterwards she answered my question about other makeup and things in the store and was not pushy about it. I absolutely loved the experience and the price and will definitely be going back. Welcome to downtown Madison, Arch!

The interior is beautiful, the girls who work there are super friendly, and they have a great display of candles, skincare and bath items, and high end makeup brands that you can’t find anywhere else in Madison (not Macy’s or Sephora) — By Terry, Lipstick Queen, Kevyn Aucoin, etc.
I got a brow wax and brow tint. The waxing services are pricier than most places in Madison but they do a good job. I felt like the waxes and oils they used were less irritating to my skin than other salons I’ve been to, and they will fill them in and cover up any redness afterwards. That solves the awkward problem of having to go out in public with flaming red skin.
The makeup selection is good and the girl who helped me was very knowledgable, gave great recommendations, but wasn’t pushy about selling the product.
Overall, it was a good experience and I’ll definitely go back, especially for the makeup and because it’s a convenient location for me. I know the business caters to special events or professional clients with some extra income to spare, which is fine and expected given the area. But I’m still giving it 4 stars because of the price. They do quality work, don’t get me wrong, but not really any better than other salons that charge less.

I walked in here one day while passing by and I was like, «Whaaa? Not another new restaurant in Madison, but a new STORE?! Huzzah!»
I went in and was promptly greeted at the door. The associate gave me a little card that had all of the services they offer + the prices. They do blowouts, up-​do styles, makeup application, and waxing. Very cool! This definitely would be a great place to go if you have a special event that you need to attend, or if you just want a little pick-​me-​up. Everything is reasonably priced when comparing them to the competition.
Not only do they offer styling services, they also have candles and perfume. I am obsessed with candles, so I will definitely be back to stock up on some. They are a little pricey ($ 30 for the larger candles, but they have a lot of unique scents that you can’t really find anywhere else.
