I went at 7:40pm. They close at 8. They were already cleaning espresso machine and would not make a latte. I suggest driving a little farther down Hughes and you will get better service.

I decided to try my favorite beverage at a new spot instead of my usual go-to place«Starbucks». I must say the staff was extremely friendly and service was prompt, the atmosphere was very warm and inviting. There was plenty of space with free Wifi, the music was pleasant and not blaring through the speakers. I received my beverage just short of 3-minutes and it tasted great.

I have never had a bad experience here. The staff is always very friendly and the environment is very relaxed. It is the perfect place for studying or meeting a friend to have those long chats where you catch up on life together.

My vanilla latte frappé was excellent. My wife got an iced latte. I think it was a little strong for her taste. We enjoyed sharing a slice of cake, I called it pound cake, but my wife said it was better than that. I liked the barista, a college girl. Good WiFi. The password was handily posted by the cashier.

Nice coffee, nice place, all at Café 153! I love the white chocolate cappuccino(or frappuccino?). And it’s much better and cheaper than Starbucks because at Starbucks, the vanilla bean frappuccino turns into colored ice(blech!). And I thought«Forget Starbucks, my new favorite coffee shop is Café 153!»

I love their fresh turkey sandwiches and iced mochas. I wish they fused syrups into their drinks like other coffee shops but I believe this place is known for their waffles on the upside of that. I wish their bathrooms had changing tables for us mommies to enjoy a cup w/the lil ones around. The cashiers here are always pleasant and warm. They do have a great selection of different roasts, not sure if they grind it for you too. Very clean, ambience is welcoming and I love Christian and homey feel that this place brings.

Loved the ice blended mocha. It was made with ghirardelli chocolate, wasn’t too sweet, and could be made with lowfat milk. When the hunger games came out they had a drink special called the Nutty squirrel which was basically a Nutella latte. I prefer getting half chocolate, half hazelnut in my espresso drinks bc if they call it a hazelnut mocha, I end up with a drink that is too sweet and too much in the chocolatey side. I’m definitely coming here for my coffee fix whenever I can. I wish they could get a great version of sugarfree chocolate and I’d be set!(need to balance the sugar I’m eating in their salted caramel fudge) 0:) what? No judging!!! Artwork is awesome and fun to peruse, reminds me of a museum. The seating is very eclectic/mod, lots of strong designs, and woodsy rustic color blocking of brick red, browns and greens. Decent enough beer selection to come here and hang out with friends. Free wifi & super über friendly service. They exchanged my chips for a bowl of fresh fruit!(strawberries, grapes, banana slices) I’m bringing my friends here to hang out and grab a drink.

These guys pour the best coffee in town. It’s one of those places that really let’s you say, «%$#! St*rbucks!» There’s two locations. The one at Bridge Street has the fancy interior and cool upstairs seating area, but both have the same stuff. The roaster is at Bridge Street though, so I think the larger selection of beans is also there? Anyway, I like the dirty chai and the lattes quite a bit. Another review said the chai was too sweet, but I confess that’s the way I like it, traditional/appropriate or not! The baristas are friendly enough that they’ll listen if you want something done a certain way too, unlike the other place in town I like to get coffee. Also, try the espresso brownies if they got ‘em. I haven’t had the waffles yet, but that does seem to be a major feature. Waffles and coffee weren’t the most natural pairing in my mind, but it’s more natural than chicken and waffles, and that, unfortunately for my waistline, is magic.

Great coffee here, especially the lattes. If you order a flavored coffee, expect to taste the rich boldness of their blend along with the syrup. The syrup is not overwhelming so if you like a strong syrup taste, you’ll need to order extra. Overall this coffee is one of my favorites in the Huntsville area…

Have gotten three different espresso drinks here, all three taste weak compared to Starbucks or my own home brew. Great for convenience, ok atmosphere, but the coffee & espresso are lacking.

Very nice setting with the artwork and hardwood floors. Food choices are nice, and the coffees and teas are palatable. Location is sort of hidden from the road yet can be found be looking for the Hallmark cards store and Kroger next to it. Very friendly and prompt service. Great place to start or end a day, and meet interesting people.

Pros: Ample seating Refined ambiance Decent espresso Free WiFi Cons: Croissants are just ok Seemingly lots of flies The croissant was really not great, but it was at least homemade! Concerning the flies: I wonder if this is always a problem or just the day I was there. Since I’m not sure, I will leave 4 stars for now, but bump it down if the problem persists.

Café 153 has done nothing but satisfy my coffee craving from day 1. I’ve had their regular coffee, café au lait, and their java chip frappé. All three of them rank above Starbucks in my book. Their frappé has just the right blend of chocolate and coffee without the excessive sugar. Coming from Austin TX with plenty of independent coffee shops, I think Café 153 stands out above some of my Austinite favorites like Dominican Joe’s, Bennu, Epoch, and Café Medici. Their prices are also affordable, which means the world for a college student and coffee connoisseur.

A newly opened café, next to Kroger’s supermarket on Hughes Rd, near the Hallmark Store end. I had a chai latte, it is overpoweringly sweet, similar to Kenny Mango’s. It was not impressive at all. Perhaps I’ll try the latte itself next time, but I suspect it will just be mediocre and a bit too sweet. However, what is lacking in the drink, the atmosphere makes up for it. The décor is what I would describe as «casual contemporary». The modern clean line dark furnitures give this place a warm, cozy feeling, however, the place is roomy. Sofa & chairs are comfortable, overall nice. Oh and let’s not forget the free wi-fi. It’s a good place to hang out, read a book. I want this place to be good, but because of the drinks, I cannot give it anything more than 3 stars. Comparing with similar local coffee shops, I’d prefer this café shop over Kenny Mango’s, personally. But it will never replace places like Olde Towne Coffee shoppe.
