Grounded Coffee

Grounded coffee is a coffee shop you don’t want to miss. If traveling or local it is a must stop. Grounded uses a unique bean with a vibrant but smooth flavor. The morning delicacies are a fantastic treat with some standards like blueberry or cranberry/​orange available daily to the wonderful Thursday black cherry scones or Saturday spinach and bacon quiche all delivered by Grounded’s wonderful young baker (s). Old recipes made fresh and delicious.

I’ve passed this place a thousand times but finally stopped in. Much better atmosphere, calmer and friendlier, than the more well known coffee places you see on every corner. Love the coffee and the peacefulness of the place. I’ll be back!

Excellent excellent coffee and and extremely knowledgable and courteous staff. Had an espresso con panna and a pour over coffee and was very pleased. The espresso has a rich caramel character with deep complex flavor. Stop here… everyday.

Oh where to even start with Grounded Coffee! So far in all our travels, this is still the best coffee worldwide. The shot of espresso is flawless both in technique and taste. The steamed milk is done to perfection and always has beautiful latte art on it.
The shop is very comfortable and relaxing. There are plenty of tables and even some comfy couches to relax on. It’s a very open environment which makes it even more welcoming.
The staff is honestly one of the best parts too. They’re so friendly and are always looking for ways to serve you. From hand delivering your coffee to your tables and always keeping things clean, to offering you a cup of ice water after you’ve been there working for a couple of hours. It’s non stop service!
There are a couple employees (hate to even call them just «employees», because they’re so much more than that!) really stand out. Gene and Jane are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and have a loving servant’s heart that is especially rare. And if the owner Chris is there, you can see where the love and servants heart comes from!
Overall, I wish I could leave a 7-​star review. It doesn’t get any better than Grounded!

Grounded has such a unique blend of coffee that is still the best I’ve tasted, and I’ve been to many local coffee shops in many big and small cities. My usual order is a vanilla latte and while at most places I need to order extra shots to darken the blend, grounded makes the latte perfect from the start. Smooth espresso and the owner and all the staff are friendly. Their blueberry muffins are homemade and the best I’ve had. Plus Gene always has a story to tell.

Ok, so this isn’t far from my favorite Indian place in town (Saffron) or the King’s Olive Oil Co. And yes, that’s a shameless plug for both spots (just go and see for yourself). But I must say that for a guy that rarely drinks coffee, this is a nice and even inviting shop.
Thr furniture actually makes you forget you’re in a coffee shop and are actually back at home. Well, maybe that’s just me and maybe we have the same stager.
The best part? They have a neat program that’s kinda a «pay it forward» concept where you can pay $ 5 and write a descriptive message on their pinboard describing someone. If someone comes in and matches the description (e.g. «for pretty girls who where blue on Mondays») the person can get a free drink. Naturally, my opportunistic self wrote one that’s so selective that I probably just paid for my next chai tea (hint) the next time I drop by.
For coffee shops in strip malls, this isn’t bad at all.

We love this place! It’s our go-​to coffee shop when we need a place to work or have a business meeting. The coffees are some of the best in town, and there’s always plenty of places to sit. The staff is super friendly and really sweet. We’ve had several of their muffins, and they’re always delicious. We love their focus on community — like game nights and latte art competitions, as well as performances and other fun events. They put a lot of heart into what they do.

Helpful staff and a great selection. The lower prices make it a must-​have jewel for this Madison area.
Try the Chatta or Snickerdoodle flavors for your coffee. Kids will like the flavored Italian sodas — ours opted for Root Beer with a hit of Vanilla.

Such a welcoming and warm coffee café. I loved the furniture and ambience. Even the associate who rang us up and made our sandwich was pleasant. The ham & swiss I ordered was delicious and fresh!
It’s not a toddler friendly atmosphere and there’s no changing tables. The restrooms are a bit small to take in a stroller but we made it work! Other than that it’s a great place for a mommy and her friend to «catch-​up».

If you are looking for a café that has a welcoming staff, comfortable chatting area, a quiet work-​area, and delicious coffee than Grounded Coffee is for you. Chris, the owner, is kind and very welcoming. His drive is for an atmosphere that is friendly and warm, and he has accomplished exactly that. Their drive-​thru window is convenient for us with a car-​full of kids!

Don’t be put off by the low star review. Grounded easily makes the best espresso drinks in Madison and Huntsville. Their traditional cappucino is spot on, and I particularly love their macchiatos. Not sure about the previous post about «no decaf.» Most coffee shops these days make decaf americanos anyway. (btw, want decaf at 7 in the morning? Go to McDonalds)

Love the comfy sofa area for meeting up with friends. Grounded Coffee has knowledgeable, friendly staff and great coffee too.

I’m probably biased as I grew up with Gene Gene the Java Machine, his robed grace who waves people in each morning, and even used to «babysit» (he was pre-​teen, but far from a baby as we wore the same shoe size back then) the owner. That made me feel old, but the drinks and service brought me back to my real age.
My wife had a coffee and enjoyed it, and I had a flavored sparkling water and giant cookie, both of which were great. There was plenty of seating space and options of table and chair or armchairs, and I can tell this would be a good place to go play a game with some friends while enjoying some of whatever type of drink you prefer.

I am a fan of local businesses. But I went to this coffee house on Thursday morning at 730am and was told they have no decaf coffee. I have gotten decaf from them before. They offered me an Americano for the same price. I took it only to be very disappointed with it. I will not go back there, I’m sorry I was really pulling if them. I will stuck with my coffee from home.
Side note. If you do go there get their sausage biscuit. They are pretty tasty! Be warned they are on the spicy side (which I like) if you don’t like spicy foods stay away from them.

The staff is friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is clean and crisp. To top it off, the coffee is excellent! But don’t take my word for it, go find out yourself!
