I’m frothing at the mouth a week later still at this place. Walking around the store I realized the entire staff and owner were all on the greener side of Green Lantern than I’d really like my children around. One was Cleary intoxicated on more than only this as he stumbled around the store. When I and my two sons went to leave the owner got uncomfortable close to my youngest and asked why we didn’t buy anything and if they’d only come into steal. I’m standing right there… I told him to move at which point he started yelling at us as we left. I’m not sure by how empty this place was but maybe only a visitor like me would walk into such a nightmare.

I’ve gone into Comix City Too sporadically over the past five years or so. The store has a great selection of comics, and the staff is very knowledgeable. They have a decent selection of one-off comics, individual issues, and volumes. If you’re looking for anything DC or Marvel related it’s probably there. There’s also a good collection of Dark Horse and Vertigo comics. The store also has a small collection of tabletop games, Magic cards, and action figures. The reason for only three stars is because several issues that I’ve had with store. There were several times that I’ve gone in looking for a particular book that wasn’t there. I asked could it be ordered in, and how much it would cost. The man I was speaking with refused to order the comics in, and stated that the store didn’t do such things. This left me confused because I thought most stores that sell books order items for customers, but I did get the item online for a reasonable price. I’ve also had staff dismiss my choice of comic books, in great detail! I usually already know what I’m coming in for, so the only time I really interact with staff is to say«hello» and ask store-related questions. So, don’t like the fact that I’ve gotten a running commentary on why a certain graphic novel I chose is trash. This isn’t an all the time thing, but it’s happened enough times to give me pause. So, I would very much recommend going to Comix City Too because the staff is very knowledgeable about their inventory and the different graphic novels that are available, or will soon be available. However, be aware that some of that knowledge can come with colorful commentary on who’s reading comics, what comics suck, etc.

If you’re looking for a certain comic, tabletop game, or Magic card — this is your place. Larry and the staff there are very cool and knowledgable on everything. They have a great selection of games and TONS of comics. I have bought many items here. They don’t carry many action figures, so if you are a toy collector, maybe not a place for you. Mostly newer Marvel and DC figures. They are extremely nice, which keeps me a return customer. They have a huge parking lot, so there is never a problem parking, either.

Had the obscure Japanese game I was looking for and they were really helpful in suggesting another game as a gift. I’m not a comic collector or big DnD player, just a normal dude and they were really nice and didn’t scoff at me for being a «noob». Preciate it, I’ll be back!

4.5 If I didn’t have a childhood attachment to another store, I’m pretty sure that Comix City Too would be my shop. From the onset, I’ve gotta say that this isn’t much of a drive-by shop. Nor will you find much inventory outside of the world of comics/fantasy/etc. This is a comic store for and by comic lovers ’ and it’s awesome. The inventory is set up in clear, logical ways(DC section, Marvel section, indie section). The back issues are stacked in ways that make sense and so that the books are easily found. They have everything. If you’re looking for it, they’ve got it. The people who work here are friendly but very serious/knowledgeable about comics. I’ve only come on the weekend, but I seem to always walk in to some sort of gaming situation. I even heard that the store used to host podcasts. Awesome. As things become more digitized, many comic shops have taken on other revenue streams to keep the doors open and the lights on. I get it. I don’t like it but I get it. At CCT, it’s all about comics. There’s no need to be cool, ironic or retro. You can let your freak/nerd flag fly high and proud here. I’m hoping that this current golden age of super hero movies, tv shows, franchising, and fantasy tv(you cannot/will not escape GoT) will help bring more people into the doors and introduce them(adult and kids alike) to the incredible world of the funny books. When it comes to comics in middle Tennessee, you have to come to Madison. Who knew? I didn’t but I now make the drive north on a weekly basis. Nashville can’t compare/compete.

There are a limited number of comic shops in this city, but this one is a gem! They have a great selection of comics, toys and tabletop games. My son likes their kid section the best!

Not much to offer for MTG card sales, but they do push draft nights, which is cool. The place kind of smells like a pet store though.

Comix City Too is by far the best comic /card game /Manga store in the greater Nashville area. I’ve been all over nashville and the surrounding area looking for a place that has some not so mainstream manga titles and this shop has those series you can’t find elsewhere along with old favorites. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the prices can’t be beat, «buy 1 get 1 half off all manga» If you’re looking for manga or comics check this place out. I suggest going during the week as there are tournaments on weekends and the tables kinda block the manga section, although the players are normally willing to step aside for a moment if you ask. You won’t be disappointed. They also carry card games such as Magic the Gathering if you’re interested in buying or playing some of those.

This place is great! Convenient to where I live and they always have the independent comics I collect. Usually when I’m checking out, there is some new strange toy at the front that catches my eye and I end up having to get it. The only downside is that the shelves that the comics are on are a bit small. Trying to get a comic from them seems to be tricky for me because I hate bending the comics to get it out.

Mark runs an awesome comic book store. This has been my boyfriend’s go-to shop for years, and has I’ve tumbled down the rabbit hole into comic book nerdery, I can see why. A great selection of mainstream and indie titles. An extremely knowledgeable staff who are quick to respond to questions or concerns, especially for their regulars. And since they’ve moved to their new location, parking, crowding, and inventory are never an issue. Prices are comparable to other stores, and the selection is much higher. There isn’t a huge selection of back issues available on the floor, but if you ask for a title, they probably have it. If you’re looking to pick up the latest titles, games, figures, or paperbacks, you will definitely find what you need. If you’re big into games, you’ll find several gaming tables, usually with a few players already set up. It’s a fun vibe with friendly people. I will say the experience in the store varies entirely upon who is working that day. But Comix City is a great comic book shop, well worth the drive to Madison. I like the Great Escape, but if you’re looking for a place to call your comic book home, it doesn’t compare to Comix City Too.

I haven’t really read or collected comics since I was a very young nerdy fellow, and now that I’m an older nerdy fellow, I stick more to music and film. However, having spent a lot of time around long-term nerdy comic book types, I can tell you that Comix City Too is a dork’s dream come true. The place is stocked with countless issues of probably every series dubbed worth collecting by anyone who lives in his mother’s basement. They of course carry the latest issues in popular series by DC, Marvel and more, but they also have comics from years and years ago. The counter guy(not unlike The Simpson’s infamous comic book guy), seems excessively knowledgeable regarding all things animated, and he probably knows precisely where everything in his store is located. In addition to hundreds and hundreds of comics, Comix City also carries(surprise!) action figures. Be warned: these are NOT dolls. They are action figures. They have the ones you’d expect – Spawn, GI Joe, X-Men, et cetera. And, from what I can tell, their prices are perfectly reasonable. If you’re a comic addict, this place should go on your list for sure.
