I have been coming to NCS for almost two years. I had been going to a salon in the mall for about a year and I noticed that my hair was getting extremely dry. I used some products that they recommended but nothing seemed to help. A friend recommended Sara D so I made an appointment with her hoping that she would be able to make some suggestions for my dry and damaged hair. She suggested one product and gave me tips for drying and styling that would help. Since that first visit, my hair has come along way. Sara always gives me suggestions for keeping my hair healthy and she’ll recommend different products in the store but never pushes me to purchase a product. She always asks what my budget is and what I’m looking to have done so that I’m not disappointed with the outcome. I’d highly recommend Sara — or any of the other stylists.

Okay, review time. First let say that I am not a big review writer. I am not a big e-commerce person either. So if I don’t have a big following it is because I have no idea how that happens or works. I am a 50 something, no nonsense consumer just stating my piece. With that I will start. I have had the unhappy experience of paying thru the nose for hair services. That would be at the very least marginally acceptable if I was then at least able to say I was happy with the results as compared to the amount I was asked to pay. Where had I gone? To some fancy nancy places. I will reserve the names but I will say it was not RZ and company, and they are both located on the west side. With both places, I had to return for«additional“corrective services. Even then it was a disaster for me, and I was just poorer and had hair from he!!. Thanks! Not. Enter New Concepts Salon. I had gone here once before, where I had a person cut my hair and I was happy enough not overwhelmed but I would not say unhappy. This person no longer works there. I did receive a note in the mail inviting me back to the salon to continue my relationship. I recently took advantage of the offer(a discounted haircut was part of the offer). Considering the fact that I had recently received services totally $ 275.00 elsewhere(are u serious!) and was not happy. I thought I would take this offer up. I made my appointment that morning and was happy to get in that afternoon thanks be to GOD. I saw Lisa. She listened to me. She looked at the pictures I brought in, she also could see what I was unhappy with and stated it before I did. Note to thin haired people, cutting in or shattering or using a thinnning shears is not something you want! Lisa saw this and corrected the weak straggly chopathon which had taken place on my head. Thank you Lisa, Thank you Lisa, thank you Lisa. I am very happy with New Concept Salon. I Recommend Lisa at his salon. I like the comfortable atmosphere, it is cozy friendly and most importantly clean. Here is what I did not get at NCS, I did not get screwed for a haircut by a stylist who did not listen to what I wanted. My only wish is that I had found Lisa earlier. So, to all you over the top fancy nancy puffed up ego freak places, put that in your pipes and smoke it.

I have been going to Anna for almost a year; she’s awesome! I was nervous after going to my best friend for almost 10 years. Anna is always so friendly and she is very talented. Each time I leave I am thrilled with my hair.

I am very happy with the work done my Anna at New Concepts Salon. As a male, I have bounced around from place to place without being very happy with the service and expertise at other places. I have been at NCS for 8 months now, and I am happy to say Anna will be doing my hair for the long run! I have heard great reviews from friends that I have referred to New Concepts Salon, and I have also seen the work of Anna for weddings and other engagements! She is a an extremely talented hair and make-up artist and should be considered for your next hair appointment.

Don’t waste your time or money. I visted NCS after reading the glowing review from Cabell G. on Unilocal.I got my nails done and my girl was nice. The manicure was a little more expensive than I expected it to be but that was okay at the time. However, less than 12 hours later, my polish started to chip. I called and the receptionist was ditzy and confused as to exactly what I needed done. It was frustrating talking to her, and then when I finally got in to get my nails fixed, the stylist who was formerly friendly was cold and didn’t talk to me. She did a good job fixing the chipped manicure, but I was pissed that I had to waste my own time to come back and get something fixed that should have been done right the first time. One of my nails broke four days after the original manicure and even more nails were chipping and awful looking a week later for a manicure that should have lasted at least two weeks. I will never go here again, I feel that it was a waste of money for such poor service and poor product.

Katie at New Concepts saved my LIFE. …Okay, not my LIFE, but definitely my manicure, the day before we were flying out to Las Vegas for our destination wedding. After getting a complete hatchet job of a gel manicure at Studio Z(see other review: seriously, it was a gel manicure that started cracking less than 24 hours after application because the woman who did it had NOIDEA what she was doing), I was calling around town in a panic trying to find someone who could redo my nails that afternoon. I didn’t want to try to fit in a ~$ 150 removal/new manicure at Treasure Island the morning of my wedding, because our schedule was already ridiculous. New Concepts happened to have an opening. As soon as I got there, everyone wanted to see the original job, and confirmed it had been applied wrong – which made it take about twice as long to remove as it should have, but Katie got it off and then did it RIGHT. She explained the whole process to me as she went, which helped me retain confidence that she actually knew what she was doing, and was also interesting for future reference. When she finished up, it looked perfect, and it has now held up beautifully for a week. I even scraped my nails across several rock formations while doing post-wedding shots at the Valley of Fire, and it didn’t leave a scratch. Finally, they didn’t charge me anything for removing the original job – just $ 35 for the gel polish(gel with a manicure is $ 50 at New Concepts, and most places charge separately to remove gels). That was less than I’d paid for the original bad job! I normally like to change my polish color a lot, which you can’t do with gel, but Katie was so nice and I’m so impressed with how well gel holds up, I’m seriously considering sticking with it from now on. If I do, I will definitely be going back to Katie!
