Ruby Tuesday

First, I’ll say that I do really, really like their food. The last time I went I had an awesome fish and shrimp dish with spaghetti squash. The biscuits are also amazing.
However, there was a number of issues last time I was there. Someone hadn’t done the prep work on biscuits that morning, so instead of getting them before our food, they came out when we were preparing to leave. They had sold out of three different side dishes that we tried to order, and they were not going to be able to get stock back until their standard restock date four days later.

Very disappointed! Ordered ribs and they were dry and nasty… My grits were basically one nasty, dry patty with cold cheese on top. The lettuce on the salad bar had a chemical taste. Disappointed.

Do not recommend this place at all! We never even got as far as being served anything, as we walked out after waiting and waiting!
When we first walked in, the place was deserted… no customers and also no employees in sight. After waiting almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged and seated, the same person took our drink order. (the only reason we waited is because we were craving the salad bar). She was not very friendly, actually very rude. I couldn’t decide what drink I wanted and she didn’t even offer to come back… she just rudely stood there and stared at me, while I was trying to decide. After placing our drink order, she disappeared. We waited and waited to receive our drinks, and after 10 minutes, we just said the hell with the place and left. Upon walking out the door, she was still no where to be found… no employees in sight. We will never go back here again!

OK, Surie next door closed, according to the bartender, because of damage from our Ice/​snow issues this winter.
So, that leaves Ruby Tuesday.
I hadn’t been in there in years, and decided to drop in yesterday.
The bartender Ben is sweet as can be and the manager came by to greet me and speak to me and then followed up with a post-​meal-​delivery «how is everything»? Nice touch. It was fairly dead in there at 7 PM ish.
Anyhoo, Ben made some nice recommendations and I got the petite sirloin medium rare, with a side of broccoli and zucchini. The only reason the food didn’t get 5 stars is because the steak was actually closer to well done. Ben suggested an asiago sauce they have out now, and I got it on the side, and did dip the broccoli in it. It is a decent sauce. I placed a «to go» order for work and that was a little ham handed in the delivery (slow and they had to keep asking me what degree of «heat» I wanted, etc), but all in all a nice experience.
Give Ben and Ruby’s another shot. I find it to be a nicer alternative (better service and friendlier people) to the one near Kroger on Hughes Rd in Madison.

Ruby Tuesday was very impressive.
We started with the Guacamole Dip and it was very tasty and fresh. We enjoyed the lobster and steak along with the Louisiana Fried shrimp, mmmmm. Overall food was hot, fresh and delicious. Service was very good.

Holy crap this place sucks!!! Let me get one thing straight, I love Ruby Tuesdays, this restaurant chain is off the chain! This Ruby Tuesdays sucks!!! The restaurant is not clean under, maintained, and the bathrooms made me want to puke!!! We had the spinach dip sucked bland, warm at best and the chips were greasy and tasted like they were cooked in warm grease at best. Get the visual and texture that I am getting at? My wife ordered the shrimp and steak, the shrimp was amazing hot and hit your mouth with a great flavor burst, the steak she ordered medium well, which came to the table well done, bland and dry. I ordered the chicken Bella that came out under portioned dry and over cooked 4 – 5 mushrooms over the top and just enough sauce to piss you off. The baked potato and the baked macaroni and cheese were great I enjoyed the heck out of these. Oh, and not to forget the little bread garlic rolls that they served those things are addicting. I rated two stars just because there is some hope for this restaurant if new management, a new chef, and revamp of the restaurant itself this restaurant could hit a five star.

Another great meal from Ruby’s. This is quickly becoming my favorite stop when I travel. The Chicken Fresco was great with just the right size portions. The salad bar was a little off due to being out of ranch dressing but the lighter options were better for me anyway. Service was great and I continue to recommend.

Food was good. Predictable, but way overpriced. I ordered soup/​salad and an iced tea & my bill was over $ 12!!! Way too much for a tiny portion of soup and salad bar. Will not be coming back to Ruby Tuesdays.

I don’t think this place is really so bad. The have a few really good beers on tap (like Yuengling and Stella) so that’s always a big plus for me. I’ve also had some pretty good luck with the food there. Ever since they revamped their menu a few years ago things have gotten much better.
I’m not really crazy about the wait staff here, however. They are almost TOO laid back, if that makes any sense. They just don’t seem very professional when they are talking to you and almost give off a lazy vibe.
The place always seems empty when I go so it’s usually pretty quiet, and the food comes out pretty quickly. It works out well for a quick meal after a long hard day.

So I went to this place only because Surie next door closed at 9 and I needed a place to meet people for more than 30 min for drinks. First, it was freezing… It’s October. why is it colder than it is outside? Second… I ordered a strawberry lemonade and it burned my tongue… it was like pure acid… Third… when I told the server it was terrible he said «what is this? a taste test»… A very terrible attempt at being funny… regardless of if I get it for free. if I say I want a sweet tea instead… get it. I’ve worked in the food industry… Fourth… the chips for my spinach artichoke dip were so chewy I thought they were made out of wax. So to make things short. the food terrible. drinks terrible… my friend told me her margarita barely had any kick… and the service … horrid (they were more concerned about getting out of there than serving people)… Oh and they don’t know the menu… can’t make suggestions… the one good thing the sweet tea… but this is Alabama… if you get that wrong… you’re hopeless.
