Not the greatest BBQ I’ve had, but not the worst either. I don’t really care for the brisket or BBQ ribs, but the sliced sausage is good. It’s odd, because I usually like brisket, but the times I have been to Dickey’s it’s been dry and not fun to eat. Also, I know this place is a BBQ chain, but would it hurt to have more fresh vegetable offerings?

Tried Dickey’s for the first time on 04÷28÷16. The brisket had great flavor, was, tender, juicy, and had a rack of ribs that the meat just easily came of the bone. Had a variety of sides from two types of potato salad, slaw and jalapeño flavored beans. I had leftovers for lunch today and the meat was just as tender and moist the next day and that’s a plus for me. I will put these guys on our eat out/take out list.

I can tell you that most of the reviews for this dickey’s are misleading. Sure the service is better than the other dickey’s on kuykendahl, but in the end, it’s the quality of the food that really matters. The sandwich themselves where not the problem, but the sides. My Mom ordered a baked potato while I ordered a potato casserole(mashed potatoes essentially). Both of these sides where old and rough. Not only that, but they where somewhat cold. My Mom ended up getting another baked potato(with the employees happily replacing it for her) and it had the same problem. I just ate my potato’s because I figured there was no point. I got ice cream from the ice cream machine(obviously) and it was yellow. Sweet! So, really… It just the food that’s the problem, the service is great.

Pretty good BB-Q and very quick and convenient. The staff have all been nice over the years. It’s normally quiet. They had run out of sausage and said all they had was spicy. Perfect for me!!!

Not bad at all. I have sampled all of the meats and I like them. As far as the sides go, the beans are right out of a can and that is not acceptable at a BBQ restaurant. And as far as the salad goes, would it kill them to put at least one small tomato in it? All you get is a bowl full of lettuce and a roll if they remember to add that to your order. Don’t forget, they do have a small drink available, you have to ask for it. If not, you get the big yellow cup that comes with a big price tag. They do have daily specials most days and they are a good deal. The place is a chain operation, you can usually get better BBQ at a traditional, local BBQ place. And for sure you will get better beans there.

Always consistent in quality and taste. Owners changed a few times over the years, but each time they are better than before. Awesome BBQ, fresh tea, few desserts, but the ice cream machine is what I like. Good sides too and courteous, courteous staff!

I wasn’t a BBQ fan until I moved to Texas. The only BBQ that I loved was from Corky’s Ribs &BBQ in Memphis so being a novice I can only go by my own discerning palate because BBQ can be very subjective. I have to say Dickey’s did not disappoint. We ordered the the tender juicy shredded pork with a container of sauce, the yummy messy ribs, the spicy sausage, the crunchy fresh coleslaw, the cheesy okay mac –n– cheese and some too-sweet peach cobbler. Overall I will be back for some more take-out and my favorite stand-outs the delicious BBQ pork and coleslaw. Not bad for a chain restaurant.

Just had a horrible experience at this dickies. Food was cold, we were shorted 2 ribs and had to go back and ask for them, potato salad didn’t even taste like potatoes, they got the order wrong, the ice cream was melted, the lock on the men’s restroom didn’t work, there were no towels in the restroom, the guy making the plates had no idea what was supposed to go on them and the meat on my brisket sandwich was so fatty that when I cut the fat off, I. had 4 small slivers of meat left. The manager of this place should be fired and this location closed down.

So we gave this place two chances before writing a review. We got here around 6:30 on a Monday night. A few people ahead of us in line. We are told they are out of chicken and almost out of turkey because no one made any yesterday and only have one potato left. The meat is in Saran Wrap and being unwrapped to cut as you order it. The chopped beef was ok but was room temp by the time I finally got our order to pay and sat at table. There was also some plastic wrap chopped with my beef. Thankfully I saw it and didn’t eat it. My husband ordered a sandwich that comes with pickles, onion, and cheese. He said no pickles(was asked twice and responded no pickles but yes to onions and cheese both times. Got the sandwich with pickles no onions. We got green beans(very salty — I could see the salt), Mac & cheese(just seemed off) and potato salad(just ok). Our first experience wasn’t any better so we won’t be back. I’m surprised this one has better stars than one in The Woodlands as we’ve always had good luck with the one off Kuykendal.

This Dickeys use to be wonderful and then they changed owners. They are slow and always out of food. I love their salad with turkey on it but they have no light dressing options. They changed their BBQ sauce and it seems like it is out of a bottle instead of freshly made. I am very sad for how much they have changed.

If you’re looking for good barbecue on the go, you will be very pleased. The crew was courteous and quick. They also offer a military discount if that interest you as well.

Gosh this place was good. I was out on a work errand and was like«eh, needa eat» Very pleased that I did. I got the one meat plate with a couple sides. Meat — I had the brisket which was very tasty. I think it was Texas style, what does that even mean? Baked potato casserole — FOREAL? Yes, very good. Get cheese on it. It is delicious. It wasn’t really a casserole though in my opinion, more like baked potato salad stuff. Mac n’ cheese — Not groundbreaking, but well done and tasty! BBQ Sauce — Yes! It is in a slew of vats so you can get as much as you want and there was regular, spicy, and sweet. Didn’t bother with sweet. Should only have bothered with spicy: D ICECREAM! — Yes free good creamy ice cream. Also if you get the big cup you get a big sexy yellow cup. Get it. Definitely want to come back. Great BBQ place.

What makes Dickey’s amazing? — Friendly service — Great choices in meats and sides — Crushed style ice — Selection of sauces(regular, sweet, spicy) So here is how we get our Dickey’s on: I order the one plate of meat — The Man gets the two meat plate. I have been told for 75 more cents to order the two meat plate(by The Man.) Portion sizes are generous so 75 cents more is a deal! The pulled pork is fantastic. Okay, all the meat is fantastic. For the sides I get the slaw and fried okra. All portions that need to be fried are fried right then and there. No sitting under a hot lamp here! The Man has gotten several of their sides and they do not disappoint. Go. Enjoy. Leave in a meat coma. (Oh! The ice cream is actually ice milk, not your typical soft serve.)
