Hell, as a professional Chef, I tried to get in on day one. I saw opportunity. I was never hired. Too bad they went the cheap way. It cost them their business. Not just the food aspects, but everything.

Went downhill very fast. Sad that this happened. Seems like wait staff constantly changed, even saw the owner chew out a customer. Perhaps that is why she had trouble keeping workers. We stopped going 5 months before they closed because out experiences were worse each time.

Would not recommend, way overpriced menu and craft beer. Better bang for the buck just down the street at Tailgators. Is what it is…

This place has seriously gone down hill. The food menu has been cut to just bar basics. What food they have is just ok, nothing special. Worse, for a place with beer in their name, the beer is warm at best. The final nail in the coffin is the waitstaff. We’ve had the same waitress the last two times and she is the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with as a waiter. She argued about our order, got the order wrong and treated us horribly. With less than a dozen people in the place, service took forever. Reviews and posts on their Facebook page are deleted unless they are good. Skip the place

Gave this place a 2nd chance and still left unsatisfied with the quality and serivce. Took an hour for food we had a table of 6 people. Spent over 300 dollars and food was just mediocre at least we had enough alcohol in us not to really care. Was really hoping this place was a good spot with the selection of beer.

I don’t know what kind of people are giving this place 5 stars, but I do not want to be their friend. I went here today for dinner after driving past 20+ times. My girlfriend and I had high, but realistic, hopes. The inside is nice and clean but there were quite a few flies buzzing about. Nothing too major here in Texas but a bit unpleasant(we had to move tables). So besides the flies were off to a fine start. The girls behind the bar tell us to grab a seat wherever. We finally get a table with no flies and order our drinks and a large pretzel. The pretzel took a LONG time to come out. The middle(where it knots up) was rock hard. The cheese«sauce» just looked like Velveeta with tomatoes in it(and tasted like it). The cheese was also cold and«hard.» The mustard sauce tasted like it was from a bottle and was mehhh. The spicy sauce was okay. The waitress didn’t explain any of the sauces. Okay so we order the sausage plate with deviled eggs and the Frito pie. The sausage tasted like grocery store sausage. The GF only ate half of the ‘beer’ sausage. The cheese filled one was horrible and definitely from a store or supplier, we each had one bite of that and were done. The fries were fine but the deviled eggs were just as bland and boring. Ate half of one of them. Okay my Frito pie was the biggest disappointment of the night. On a night where we had one bite of sausage, the Frito pie was even worse. First thing I noticed is the bowl was not even half way full, and for I think $ 11 you better fill that bitch up. It was a laughable portion to price ratio. I also notice they use uncooked jalapenos. I think that is the worst way to serve jalapenos, especially in a «chili.» I took a bite and it was 100000% store bought ‘chili’ from a can. It was disgusting. Super salty, had that fake«sauce» that the cans use. It was just horrible. I ate about 3 bites and that was it. The service was slow, but not horrible. Empty water glasses every time but filled after a minute or two. We wanted to leave so fast we walked to the bar to pay our bill with a different waitress. The beer selection looked nice, but I wasn’t drinking today. I will likely never return to this establishment. I can buy the same shit(the whole meal!) they sell for less than $ 5 at the store, so why am I being asked to pay $ 10+ a plate for it? Cheap food, slow service, bad prices, no thanks.

I don’t think they know what they want to be known for. Being new to the area I was looking for some good bbq. I happened to stop in on a whim that they might serve food and hopefully bbq. The sign outside doesn’t give you any indication if they do or don’t. A big miss to not just add something like«and barbecue too» or «Good grub». I’m not in marketing it’s clear but otherwise it’s a beer place and people aren’t going to know they could eat there too. The person at the bar was very friendly and willing to help me. Turns out the smoke all their meat on premise. Bingo. She said the were changing their menu soon to make it better. She raved about the wings. I got a large order flaming and two orders of brisket. The bill was pretty steep but I thought we’d get some good portions. It was all packed up nicely. Brisket was excellent-very moist– great flavor but it was a very small portion for what we paid. Sauce was good. My hubby said the wings were good. Like 7 good. No onions or pickles but we got over it. Lots of TV’s to watch games on and beer to select from.(not a beer drinker so I can’t rank that part.)

Good beer. Mediocre food, horrible service. Extremely slow, served hamburger and fries without ketchup. Two waitresses both blamed the kitchen. Place was nearly empty and service still sucked. Good was cold by the time we got it. Cool idea but a very poorly run place.

Perfect score– no BS tap house with lots ‘o good Texas beer on tap; great bar food like deviled eggs, sausage and brats. Good TVs to watch Astros, Texans, Rockets, UH, A&M, LSU, UT and Dynamo. Shuffleboard, outdoor patio and relaxed furniture made out of kegs and Longhorns. Staff was great day I was there. Just wish this was two blocks from my house vs. three miles. Highly recommend Lone Pint beers. Soooo good!

1 star is generous. First beer had a fruit fly in it… That’s when we noticed the three fruit fly traps. Two on the bar and a major spider web and spider. Obviously the front of the house needs cleaning… I can only imagine the back of the house that serves food. Best of luck!

Really enjoyed the variety of craft beers they offer. The flights are very reasonably priced for the amount of beer! 6 different drafts for $ 14. The menu has a detailed list of the specific beer and where the brewery is located. They also have shuffle board so that’s s plus in my book!

This is really a 3 star joint… because the food was average. But the beer selection and service we got was a solid 5. So I’ll average it to 4. But ya really don’t go here for a salad or a fancy dinner. You come here for some beers, decent nachos and a really good salted pretzel with 3 different dipping sauces. But mostly for the beers… Beers: Wow! This place gives any beer garden in Houston a run for their money. Sure they don’t carry every regular old bottled beer. And they don’t even carry some of the now mainstream microbrews we all have come to love — can you say no St Arnold’s. But they have some freakin’ awesome local Texas microbrews that will knock your socks off. The Robert Earl Keen Honey Pilsner was a favorite and the Prairie Bomb!(an imperial stout aged on espresso beans, chocolate, vanilla beans, and ancho chile peppers) were big standouts on my sampler of 6. I know she said they don’t always have everything on their huge printed beer menu and they sometimes have special beers that aren’t listed. But I would guess they had over 75 beers available at any given time. Service: I told the waitress — Destiny — that I liked pilsners and big darks and she put together a terrific sampler of beers. Just know you can’t do more than 6 if you are drinking the sampler alone. Still it was plenty. The ticket comes out with each beer listed and it was one of the best ways to organize a sampler I’ve come across. Destiny handled our large group of about 12 with ease and a smile. Then when the other half of our group took over the patio and we had well over 30, she called in some back up. Still we never lacked for anything, food and beers came out promptly and she did separate tickets for us all! She just assigned us each a number on our original tickets and added to it by asking us what our numbers were each time we ordered something new. Brilliant! Nice large patio and smoke free indoor bar area. Shuffleboard and I hear they have live music sometimes. Patio is dog friendly, no loud music on the patio and we loved being able to talk and move the tables around as the group grew. I live no where near here. The group was celebrating the life of a friend who had just passed and none of us knew the area. To pop in here and have such a wonderful experience after such a sad one at his funeral helped give the day a little less stress. So thanks to the staff. But we do go up for the RenFest and take this route home. So I think it’s gonna be a nice stop on that adventure from now on.

Love that there’s a smoke free option for a bar. The people that bring their children here baffle me, but that’s Magnolia for you. Food was just alright. I’ll come here to have a craft beer or two. Chicken fried steak was nothing to write home about. The décor is worth noting as it was all very cool Texas rustic chic. The atmosphere is casual and fun. The guy who did live music covers was actually pretty good. Surprisingly!

Waited an hour and a half for an undercooked baked potato. I could’ve gone to Kroger, went home and cooked it myself, eaten it, and been back before they brought theirs out. Before this, I waited 45 minutes for lunch take out when there was literally no one else in the restaurant. Ridiculous.

The wings are good. The ownership is ridiculous. I just called to order wings to-go and was told they no longer do to-go orders on the weekend. We were up charged for a to-go order last summer(not delivery, just to-go). We have had missing food on a previous order. We keep going back because their smoked wings are good. I just wish different ownership.

The concept and atmosphere of the place was great. Our server was very attentive and personable. The food was great and the beer selection would be hard to match. That being said… We were asked to move twice to accomodate larger parties. We ordered flights of beer and were up charged 11 $ because they were considered premium but there was no way to know this from the way the poorly written menu was structured. When we talked to the owner she was rude, defensive about the menu that she typed, and confrontational. She threw our tabs on the table and stormed off. Her husband who seemed like a reasonable guy, attempted service recovery but it was hard to make up for the way his wife treated us. I don’t recommend this place and I suggest the female owner learn customer service or consider staying at home. If she hadn’t been there I would have given this place 5 stars.

Probably a 3.5 but I can’t round up to 4 based on cost alone. It’s a bit over priced. We had a great bartender, some good local brews(except St. Arnold’s…what?) and the juke box had everything we were in the mood for. And as a bonus they have chilled rumplemintz. The food overall was just o.k. my buddy has a nacho fetish so he ordered some nachos with pulled pork, black beans, and all the fixins. The star of this plate was the Guinness bbq sauce. Holy she ight good! Smoked wings«sounded» good so I ordered some, but sometimes concept does not guarantee successful execution. The skin was like leather. Once you pull that away the chicken did have a nice smoked flavor but it wasn’t worth the hassle. Fail on the wings. Owner gal(also very cool), was making deviled eggs while we were posted up at the bar and after a brief back and forth with her she produced a sample or two. no complaints here. Just like gma makes. Perfect. I will be going back with the wife to get her opinion as well but unless she loves the place my visits will be few and far between. Just to many other places near by that beckon me more frequently.
