Going to Lorie to get my wedding dress fitted was by far one of the best decisions I made in my wedding planning process! She did an absolutely amazing job and was WAY cheaper than her competitors. I had gone to Lorie in the past to have 2 bridesmaids dresses altered, which fit me perfectly after she was done with them. She also charged me a very reasonable fee that could not be beat. A couple months later I returned with my extremely complicated and way too big wedding gown. She took on the challenge with gusto and only charged me $ 75, yes you heard that right. We, of course, paid her more because that fee was nowhere near what she deserved. Other seamstresses said they would charge a minimum of $ 400 but it would probably be much more. Because I bought the dress off the rack and got a greatl deal(it was discontinued), that was almost as much as the dress. When asked why Lorie charges so little she sweetly explains that she doesn’t do it for the money, knows weddings are expensive and likes to help out brides. How nice is that!!! To give you an idea of all the work she put into it, let me briefly describe the dress and its issues. The dress was a size 10, I’m somewhere between 0 – 2. So not only did she have to make the dress much smaller, she also attached the detachable train, hemmed the dress, added a bustle, added beautiful beaded straps, and added cups. I had to go in for several fittings because she wanted to make sure it was done right, which I appreciated. She literally took the entire dress apart in order to make it fit me and she could not have done a more perfect job. I made sure to refer my bridesmaids to Lorie if they needed alterations and I know their desses will look great. I cannot wait to wear my dress and have Lorie to thank for how beautiful it will look!

Amazing. Wonderful. Talented. Affordable. All of these traits are what you’ll find in Lorie Schur, the best seamstress in Greater Cincinnati. I needed an extravagant lace dress to be altered for the Cirque du Unilocal party. Kara C. referred me to Lorie, who was sewing her wedding gown. Tucked away in a small, Maineville subdivision, Lorie has been doing alterations for five years. She was so kind, I felt like I was working with my mother to sew my dress. Lorie welcomed me into her home, had me try on the dress, and took measurements. She placed pins in the areas that needed to be let out. I could see her brain toiling away at all the possibilities to make the dress fit perfectly. In two weeks, I returned for my second fitting. Lorie had added fabric and made the appropriate adjustments. I was very impressed with her work, as the dress now fit my shape perfectly, plus she found cherry red lace to match; not an easy find in the fabric store! Delighted, Lorie made the final adjustments and I returned the following week to pick up my dress, with plenty of time to spare before the party. The best part: Lorie’s beautiful work only cost $ 15.00. If you need anything sewn, repaired, let in, let out, or hemmed, take it to Lorie. She’ll get it fixed up better than new at a price that won’t break your budget. Tips: — Be sure to allow at least a month in advance of your event for alterations. Bridal gowns should be scheduled much earlier. — Maineville is located 30 minutes north of Downtown Cincinnati, however, Lorie is totally worth the drive.
