Kristy’s is easy to find off of PCH near Kanan, highly recommended for early dinner or late lunch. Overlooking the ocean while you enjoy lunch is very nice and their service/food are excellent without being pretentious. Nice spot to hang out for drinks before the beach, the food is expensive but you’re paying for the easy parking and beautiful Malibu views. The parking lot is shared with the Inn adjacent to the restaurant so it does sometimes get a bit crowded.

Five stars for the view alone. Such a cute little place! Over looking the ocean. Good food good service. I had the filet mignon. Cooked perfectly. My boyfriend had the seafood linguini. He loved it. We had the calamari appetizer. Also very good. The hour and half drive was worth it! Oh and it’s doggy friendly!!!

Ok so I’ve been here a few times and this last time is definitely my LAST time. The food always varies(mediocre to blah) and they keep getting worse. I think they need to change up the menu or maybe the chefs. The first time I came here. I enjoyed the food, atmosphere and all. But since then every other time is just disappointing which makes me sad because I actually liked this place. Get it together Kristy’s 2.5

I went here a few weeks ago as a stop for lunch on our Discovery Malibu wine tour. I had the portobello mushroom sandwich and it was delicious. Even the bread was really yummy… I love the aioli sauce on it. This place seems like it’s a little gem that no one knows about at the top of a hill. Outside is really nice and has a great view of the ocean.

Really beautiful, trendy and contemporary restaurant. Wait staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and how everything tastes, also give wine pairing suggestions. You get a beautiful view of the ocean if you sit outside! I would recommend for a cute place to visit in Malibu that is somewhat reasonably priced… relative to what other Malibu places cost, especially with that great view.

AWFULWAITERSANDOWNER/MANAGER A friend of mine was getting married and wanted to have a gathering here of about 16 people. Keep in mind this is supposed to be her special day, and she’s already dealing with the stress of a wedding. They were extremely disrespectful towards the entire party due to not having made proper reservations. I’m not sure how this happened, I was just a guest. I could understand if they were booming or had waves of people inside, but the establishment was a ghost town and had enough open seats in their outdoor seating! They couldn’t get over the fact that whomever was supposed to make the reservations failed to do so and treated the guests poorly. They rudely told invited guests who were arriving there was no scheduled wedding party going on and basically asked them to leave. After the rude waiter, someone of higher authority comes out and starts ranting about how he’s not going to give us free appetizers and drinks. We’re sitting there thinking«When did we ask you to treat us to anything??» We’re just here trying to have a nice meal before heading out to the ceremony and were all willing to pay for our orders. Needless to say, we left after being made felt so unwanted. I have NEVER seen such a poor response to a situation that could have been turned into a pleasant experience for all. What kind of respectable business turns down so many willing guests, when they clearly could’ve benefited from it? Not a very smart, nor professional one. Unilocal asks«Good for groups?» That’s a definite NO. Kristy should be ashamed.

The restaurant is located in a truly beautiful spot near the Zuma Beach. It’s attached to a small inn on the top of the hill. You can drive up there in your car, as they have moderately big parking area. Due to the earlier sunbathing we had enough sun for a day so we requested a table inside. It was still a bit sultry there, but we got to cool down a bit and relax, so we were perfectly satisfied. Nearly all things on the menu looked appetizing and after a careful consideration we decided on Clams Mariniere to share, New Zealand Rack of Lamb and Filet Mignon as mains and some lemonade and waited. And waited, and waited. Yes! Finally someone has taken our order. Though I wouldn’t call our waiter nice(she was rather unhappy with something) she wasn’t rude either. I suppose, I just excepted better service from such a nice place. After ordering we waited quite a while for food, but at least they delivered drinks almost instantly. Clams Mariniere looked very nice, but the broth lacked flavour so the dish was a bit bland. However, both lamb and filet mignon were very nicely done. The composition was beautiful, meat and extras fresh and tasty. Prices rather high. If only an atmosphere there was better! There weren’t much people inside and the staff was annoyed so we felt a bit unwelcome and couldn’t fully chill out. I probably wouldn’t eat there again, even though the view was breathtaking.

Always a nice experience! Great view. Delicious food. Rack of lamb is amazing. Seafood great. Catch of the day had always been great. Pizza from real wood oven is good. They need to only use buffalo mozzarella though. My only suggestion. They don’t use a good cheese. So it gets to be kinda much. Check it out. Been going for years. Is my fav post beach spot that’s sweet

The view is great, food was really great. The breakfast potatoes that came with the surfer sandwich were super crispy. I had the omelette of the day, short ribs with no eggs and tomatoes instead of potatoes. Bloody Mary was good, but small for $ 15.

Come for the views, stay for the food and drinks :) We found this place on a whim driving up to Santa Barbara. It’s tucked away up on a hill and attached to a small inn. Hopefully you’re not driving a truck as there are some small parking spaces in the lot. We came here for lunch and asked the hostess for the table with the best view. She did not disappoint. We were seated on the patio/balcony and had an amazing view of the Pacific. For lunch I had a glass of a local Cabernet and went with the short rib sandwich. Both were fantastic, especially the sandwich. I was in the mood for something hearty and this definitely hit the spot. My wife ordered the margherita pizza and it was also really good. It has a super thin crust which I loved. Great place to relax and unwind in Malibu. Can’t wait to make my way back!

Kristy’s is tucked away in the Malibu Country Inn up on Westward Beach Road. We went for brunch last Sunday but unfortunately brunch was technically over at 1:00. We got there at 12:30 so we ordered off the dinner menu, as there is no lunch menu on Easter, I guess. The view overlooking the dean is spectacular, but even more beautiful is the rose garden. I’ve never seen so many roses in bloom at the same time. We started with Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas. We enjoyed the delicious clam chowder too. The grilled chicken pizza with caramelized onions, capers, feta, provolone, and mozzarella comes with thin crispy crust and is fantastic. We also enjoyed the Prosciutto Pizza roasted pears, arugula, mozzarella, and provolone. The prime beef burger with applewood smoked bacon, maple onion jam, and Gruyère was outstanding!

Mehh. It’s not all that. Definitely over hyped than what the food is worth. I’m pretty sure a lot of people are just wowed by the view of the mountains or ocean view, but in all reality the view isn’t all that as well. My gf & I have visited Big Sur up north, and it’s a real game changer for ocean scenic views. So I actually enjoyed the mountain view than the ocean view. Beware! Do not order their ice teas! they’re a joke. We had fries & some wanna be Margarita pizza. The fries were thin & typical, also skimped out on the fresh parsley. The pizza had romaine lettuce instead of actual basil. Plus we asked for shrimp on top and the waiter completely forgot about it. Oh, and a FYI the service was HORRIBLE. Can not stress that enough! Damn, I won’t even get started on the ice teas! If you do decide to give this place a try & you’re in the mood for some ice tea, I recommend to bring your own brisk ice tea. It was annoying how they allow dogs in there and I’m over here trying to enjoy my bland pizza while a pitbull is sniffing my goods. Not a pleasant nor sanitary situation. The worst part is there service. I’ll keep this short. Took 10 minutes to be seated & get acknowledge by the workers that were constantly passing by us. We weren’t greeted right away. Our order wasn’t right. The check took 20 minutes to arrive. The brunch of the couple next to us(whom dine & dash) was added on to our check. I told the waitress. Another 10 minutes passed. She forgot to fix the check! My gf went up to her & pretty much had to be breathing behind her neck in order for her to get the check done properly. Yup, that’s my experience. Plus no barbecue sauce. Smh. Should of gone somewhere else.

My first visit here was in August for a Bridal Shower. They really took care of us and with 10 loud ladies, that says a lot. Sunday was my second time back to Kristys and they did not disappoint. The meal was as good as I remember it. Great food, amazing views and wonderful service. I will be back to try a Bloody Mary with a friend. This may sound boring but order the burger… The best I’ve ever had!

Love this little restaurant. We stayed at the Malibu Country Inn, so we had dinner and breakfast here. Both were fantastic. It is on the pricey side, but it’s Malibu, so it’s to be expected. The Mac and Cheese was awesome!

I’m writing this review as I sit here, with an ocean view enjoying a complimentary small carafe of their house made Bloody Mary – made with 36 different fresh vegetables. I ordered the wood fired margerita pizza, it was perfectly crafted. Delicious, simple tangy sauce, a thin crust with a good chew and a char on the bones(that’s the crust) and delicious fresh mozzarella. Their fresh catch was Mahi Mahi and they use that in their fish and chips. When I inquired how that holds up, as I’d never had it battered and fried, they brought me a fresh golden perfectly light tempura battered portion on the house. It was clearly fresh and delicious. The service was impeccable, attentive, and spot on. Jake, Francisco, and the owner Greg were all fantastic. I came in here after swimming at Zuma which you can see from most tables. I dined solo today, but this is a place I will come to again and again and share with friends.

Great place to catch a breeze and enjoy the view while you dine. I visited this establishment as a stop on our wine tour. This comment has more distain for the wine tour company, they had a list of preselected items from the regular menu to pick from because they were paying. None of the options had vegetables or was something that I really wanted and I soon as I walked in I saw someone with something I wanted that wasn’t on our preselected menu of choices. BUT that has nothing to do with the establishment. I ended up with a chicken and avocado sandwich and French fries. It was good and you can tell their meals aren’t prepared and thrown together. Ny sandwich was even branded with their own logo for flair.

Well, I write this review not knowing if I can get up out of my chair, I am so full. Ha ha. We hopped in our golf cart and cruised over here with a recommendation from my trainer that the halibut fish and chips are a great«cheat meal.» Well after adding the risotto mushroom balls and cheesecake to that and he was right! Nice views, great service and excellent food. I can’t waIt to come back for the pizza next cheat meal! Cheers!

View is very nice, which is obvious from the start. Strange looking restaurant from the outside, almost looks like a former mobile home. Got sat right away on a saturday morning and had breakfast which was okay. Basic fare, prices okay. Eggs cooked perfectly, but bacon tasted like it was cooked weeks before, frozen, and reheated. Living in Malibu, you don’t have a lot of selections. Waiter was really helpful and friendly, and looking forward to coming back for a real meal, DINNER!

Awesome. Great bartender and unique Bloody Mary! I found them from a book called The Drunken Tomato(best bloody mary’s in L.A.). But I was also in the mood for a great Sunday drive. SO great location at Point Dume, with a nice view from a hilltop. The place was not crowded. The bartender was/is a kindred spirit, and very knowledgeable. I’m overdue for a return trip for a different cocktail and some munchies. Cheers!

Great location with ocean views, great drinks & food, and the friendliest customer service I’ve seen in a long time. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive. The bar manager was awesome too; he substituted my Moscow mule for an Irish one and came outside to chat about whiskey and different drinks. The food is really good as well. The seafood pasta is great, filled with shrimp, scallops, and oysters with a delicious white sauce that isn’t too heavy. The tuna sashimi and calamari are both fantastic too. You also can’t beat having a great meal with a sunset ocean view of Malibu.

Love love love dining here. My boyfriend and I are definitely regulars and the owner and I believe his wife always make it out to see how we are doing. The staff pretty much have figured out where our favorite table is and we have always gotten the table so it is very much appreciated. The food is delicious, we typically done for lunch but have eaten dinner a few times and again, so yummy. Definitely recommend!

Secret gem, and they’re hard to find in Malibu. I’ve been here twice in two weeks already since moving up here, and the view is excellent, it’s not busy, the food is good, and the staff is really friendly. It’s easy to stay there for longer than you intended because the setting is so serene and easygoing. I’ve had the macadamia nut pancakes and they were excellent, maybe the best pancakes I’ve ever had when I’m feeling the need for something sweet and crunchy for breakfast. Here’s the 3PS system: Place: great find and easy to get to. It’s located on a hill and you will walk through a little floral garden to enter the restaurant. A great way to set the tone to relax while eating up on the deck. People: a wide array of ages, most people are from Malibu and are all there to enjoy the view, which is the star of the restaurant. Product: delicious food and good value, especially if you compare it to Paradise Cove, which is shitty food and no value. Try the macadamia nut pancakes! They also have some great cocktails that may keep you there longer than you intended because its adds to the experience. And the bloody mary has about 27 ingredients! Service: my server Jason couldn’t have been nicer and more attentive.

I’m quite upset with how this place has turned out in the past few years… moving onto the review. I brought some of my friends from out of town here for breakfast. Figured they’d like the view and enjoy the good food. The food has never been a problem here ever since I’ve been coming many years ago. But. will get into why I’m giving this place 3 stars. We ordered the basic breakfast. Two easy over eggs, potatoes, and a fruit plate. The eggs were made absolutely perfect. The potatoes were a bit dry and needed to be fried much shorter and were definitely over fried. Fruit was fresh and the apple muffin that comes with it was great. The English muffins were toasted perfectly as well. But let me say something about the Apple muffins… although they were great. I noticed in one of the ones we got had aluminum pieces in it… I took a pic so you all can see. It’s quite unfortunate. Moving onto the service. Probably the worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant in quite some time. We had asked for salt, pepper and hot sauce at least 3 – 5 times and they kept forgetting. Eventually my friends wife got up herself to grab these items off one of the waiter stations. I also noticed that two people a few tables over were having a lot of troubles with their food order as well as asking for the items that never came. Eventually the manager came out to correct the issue and he dealt with it quite nicely from what I could overhear and see. With all that said I’d say the food isn’t a problem here entirely. Other than the aluminium flakes on the muffin… All the rest of the food was made correctly. The Chef here obviously knows what hes doing. But from what I could tell the chef may be being held back by the poor quality in the rest of the kitchen and front staff. Overall would I recommend this place? no I wouldn’t and it should be pretty clear why. You go to a place like this for the quality of service and food not one or the other. I suspect maybe something might have been happening that day. but the peak of summer during a busy morning is not the time to be figuring things out… Food: Slightly above average Décor: Above average Staff/Customer service: Very poor quality. Needs to be addressed immediately. Cleanliness: Clean Bathroom: Clean

Overlooking Zuma Beach in Malibu this restaurant has a view, good drinks and good food. I had the omelette of the day which consisted of salmon, spinach, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese. It came out hot and tasted freshly made. Side of potatoes were good as well with a lite flavor of rosemary that was not overwhelming which I really enjoyed! Something that really set this restaurant apart was before our meal a fresh platter of fruit was brought out for each person at the table. Best part about this was a muffin was in the middle that was baked that morning freshhh. I have never experienced anything like this before and it was a very pleasant surprise. My favorite part about my experience at Kristy’s was the drinks! I had a the house Bloody Mary and it was done perfectly which was topped with micro green celery. This was something I have never seen before which I thought was really cool and unique. Apart, from the Bloody Mary the Strawberry Blonde here was amazing as well. So refreshing and perfectly measured. Not to strong and not to sweet, very well done mixed drinks kudos to the bartender. Good food, fantastic drinks and a beautiful view. Great place in Malibu

People giving this place less than 5 stars are clearly the type of people who have so little going on in their lives that they have time to write college length essays on Unilocal. This place is great. Staff is like a family, owner makes everyone feel welcome, food is genuinely amazing and it’s tucked away in the beautiful cove merely blocks away from Zuma beach. Best bang for the buck in Malibu and then some.

Loved everything about this place, the food, the friendly service from Nick and Eduardo, and the view setting overlooking Zuma Beach. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well as a lovely bar. The best Bloody Mary I have had(and I have had a few) made fresh with their own blend, and now I have to find a source for tabanero sauce(habanero with tabasco), which jazzed up my delicious veggie scramble and grilled potaoes. The fresh fruit plate was very fresh in a lovely presentation. We are already planning our next visit. Just so you know, the parking is on an incline up a steep driveway by the Kristy’s sign on Highway 1, and the walkway to the restaurant by the pool is a stunning garden walk filled with blooming flowers.

I loved every dish that I ordered here. The food was absolutely delicious. We started off with the calamari as an appetizer. It tasted fresh and was perfectly crisp. Shortly after, we ordered a prosciutto pizza to share. It had that homemade taste, which I love. The flavors were phenomenal with the cheese and the prosciutto. As for entrees, we ordered the Hong Kong fish and the fish and chips. Both of these entrees were delicious. The fish were cooked perfectly. They were juicy and flavorful. My favorite was definitely the Hong Kong fish because the sauce that it was served in was absolutely delicious. I couldn’t stop eating it. My boyfriend preferred the fish and chips, which was a rather large entrée. It seems to be a crowd favorite. I liked both dishes. As for my experience at the restaurant, it was great. We were sat outside and had a beautiful view of the ocean. The customer service was great. I believe our server’s name was Nick and he was great. He was very attentive and really knew what he was doing. The other staff were great as well. I would recommend this restaurant if in the malibu area.

I stumbled upon this location when looking for a quick grub near Zuma beach. Unilocal had very decent reviews for this place so we decided to go in there. Turns out to be a picture perfect place for a nice lunch/dinner! It didn’t hurt that the food was really good too! We ordered pizzas here(Greek pizza and a grilled Chicken Pizza). The star was the Greek pizza!!! Really really nice — it’s a delight! A must try IMHO! Even the chicken pizza was pretty good. The ambience was really nice and the beers they serve are pretty nice too!(I had an Organic beer — Pinkus hefe). I would only take one star off because 1) the wait times(but I guess it’s because of the love they cook their food with! :-)) and 2) their prices! Regardless, we devoured the food when it came and I would highly recommend this when you want to get some nice fresh food and have some time on your hands.

The view is spectacular. I could sit at Kristy’s all day long, basking in the sunshine at the top of that hill as I watch that beautiful burger walk by over and over again… that thick-cut bacon peaking out from beneath that perfect bun with a prominent K seared into its crown. I suppose the ocean view is pretty good as well. And the mountains on the other side don’t hurt either. Full disclosure, I came out to Kristy’s for a large luncheon, and as such I was unable to order the aforementioned burger. However, the copious amounts of delicious food(definitely go for the mushroom pizza, the seafood pasta, and if you must, the surprisingly tasty gluten-free pizza as well) kept me more than satisfied, and the multiple spicy bloody marys made my afternoon(and ruined my early evening).
