Great little place. Was not busy and very quiet. I had a chicken tamal, carne asada taco and al pastor taco. The food was hot and done quickly. The sauces were tasty however still a little spicy for me… even the green sauce. Came to eat a meal while in town for business. The staff was friendly. I can’t believe they were not busier. I would come here again.

I went in for a tamal fix and walked out a happy camper ! The food here is always delicious. I’ve been here a few times and they are consistent with the quality and taste. They have horchata and Jaimaica!

Local good Mexican food. Big portions with traditional favorites such as Enchiladas and Chimichangas. Guacamole was very good too. Reasonable prices and causal dining. Service was quick and friendly. Will come again, yep!

Tacos were great! I got tongue and beef tacos for take out. The order was ready when they said it would be. Take out orders included different types of salsas or varying hotness, which I definitely appreciated. At work, we decided to try this new place out, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

Their salsa and chips are ridiculous. The salsa they bring you is the size of a shot glass. Food was ok.

Love love love this place !! Delicious food — great value and tons of flavor! Servers were attentive and friendly! Hubs had the beef chimichanga and I had chicken tamales — we also had a side of beans and rice. Portions were good size and the flavor was amazing! Would absolutely go here again!

Decent Mexican food. I got the fried tilapia with rice and beans which was good. The guacamole was better. The beef taco was the best. I got a free margarita with my order which was a plus. The décor needs alittle upgrade but who cares when the food is good right!?! I recommend for a local quick and tasty Mexican meal.

UPDATE! We came here on Friday, August 14th for a low-key dinner. Unfortunately, as I was finishing my meal, my last bite of chile rellenos came with a piece of plastic. The server did not hesitate to take the dish off of our bill which was the right thing to do but I can’t risk my life by eating here any more.

I crushed a burrito here today. The service was super slow. But the food was quite good. The meal came with freshly made chips and salsa. I chose the Chicken Tinga Burrito. It was very large and loaded. I would, however, prefer a higher ration of meat to beans/rice. The flavor and mouthfeel was dominated by the latter. All in all, this was a good meal and I would come back for lunch. However, I was not blown away.

Went here based on Unilocal reviews. It was ok. The green salsa and guacamole were awesome. My two main issues(and reason for only 3 stars) were NOLIQUOR!!! And no descriptions on the menu. I ordered a chimichanga — I’ve had a lot of chimichangas in my day both from tex mex places and more authentic places. I have never had rice, corn and peas INSIDE my chimichanga. If the menu had a description and let me know that I would find rice, corn and peas, I would have chosen something else.

This is the best Mexican food in the area! I try to eat here once a week! I will never got to any other local Mexican restaurant ever again! Great salads amazing wet burritos and friendly service! The chips and salsas are also incredible! There’s really no place in the area that comes close to how great this is!

Probably the best and most authentic Mexican food around the area. We ordered a bunch of tacos(chorizo, fish and chicken) and they were all superb and made with corn tortillas(just like they’re supposed to). The tamale was deliciously smooth and succulent! Will definitely come back to try out more dishes!

My husband and I went here tonight for dinner. The chips and salsa are made in house and are delicious! My husband ordered tacos(chicken and beef) while I ordered the beef fajitas. The portions were behemoth! After eating 4 tortillas filled to overflowing, I still have a large container full of leftovers to take home with us. We will definitely be back again soon!

We’ve all heard it before, «Never judge a book by its cover». El Charro is a perfect example as the property sits on a very non-descript part of Route 30 between Malvern and Frazier, PA. I’ve driven by the place several times and didn’t really notice it as there has been so many other restaurants at this site. Well, I was in the mood for some Mexican the other night ago so I did a search in Unilocal and began reading great reviews about this place so I thought I would trust my fellow Unilocalsters and give this place a shot. When we arrived on a Friday night at about 6:00, the place was empty so I was a bit worried. Never the less, we entered and were immediately greeted by a nice gentlemen who looked to be either the manager or owner who sat us in a very comfortable setting. As we munched on chips and really well done homemade salsa, we noticed a steady stream of customers starting to come in to the restaurant. Before long, every seat was occupied Our food was beautifully presented and above all, tasted fresh and authentic. I was pretty conservative with my choice-I ordered a chicken chimichanga. Very good and HUGE portion. My wife ordered the 3 amigos which is a combination platter consisting of steak, chirizo sausage, and pork-also top notch presentation and taste. Take my word Unilocal friends, this place is excellent and with the right advertising, this place should one day have a line out the door waiting to get in! Enjoy!

Let me settle one thing first. I spoke to the gentleman who served me, whom I believe is the proprietor. They will do take out. Menus are on their way. They seem to have rectified that issue. Now, I found this place at random while driving up Lancaster Ave. I can’t resist trying a New Mexican place. I decided to go basic: Three tacos, one chicken, one carne asada, one carnitas, and rice and beans. The basket of chips and salsa was pretty good, but a few of the chips were unevenly cooked. At least that means they’re freshly made. The tacos, simply excellent. A little on the mild side seasoning wise on the chicken and steak, but the salsa flavor fixed that. The rice and beans were a hit. Loved the flavoring of the beans. They’re worthy competition for the local Latino food scene.
