Went there for Lunch recently with some business associates /friends. Food was great, service was great and the access to WiFi was helpful for our discussion. Does anyone know what days /times their happy hour is and what the happy hour specials are?

We lived in Malvern a year ago and would come to the pig all of the time. We recently went back for a visit, and were extremely disappointed. 1 of the bartenders was wasted– and I mean wasted. The other looked as if she was on drugs, accidentally spilling things, slurring her words and not looking you in the eye. The food wasn’t as good as we remember(my favorite was always the prime example and my fiancé’s was the golden BBQ pork loin). The 2 stars are for the amazing beer list(we always find something new that we try and love). I was pretty disappointed to see what had become of The Flying Pig.

I love the ambiance(hanging pigs from the ceiling) and the people watching. Definitely a locals hangout, which is great! Parking extremely limited. Food is average, but the service was great! A very friendly place. Needs a dart board!

This place has so much character. Very casual feel. It was super busy on the week night when I went. Parking can be tough but check the back lot because I found a spot back there behind the restaurant. The beer selection was pretty good, but it doesn’t compare to places like TJ’s and Teresa’s. I think I got the lamest entrée, which was the sundried tomato chicken wrap. It was just alright. I think fries came with it, but once again, not really a memorable dish. Our waitress was struggling to make her rounds to our table, but she apologized and took two of our drinks off of the bill for the inconvenience without us even mentioning it. I appreciated that. I would try it again!

I love the Pig! Not only do I love pigs, but this place is great for their food and casual/versatile atmosphere! I could stop by for an after work happy hour, settle in for a relaxing(even intimate) dinner with a friend, or bring my toddler while my husband and I grab a yummy meal. Really any of these occasions can be met at the Pig depending on what floats your boat. There is no dress code which I can appreciate! Don’t come here if you’re on a diet, the food is greasy and filling and just what you want when you go to a low key bar. Also, they have a very large beer selection. My husband loves the Barnyard and I usually get the grilled cheese.

An unusual local bar with lots of character, a decent menu of standard American choices and plenty of beer choices. Good for lunch.

Beer selection is very good. Ambiance is great. Service is fun. Pulled pork sandwich with long hots and provolone is okay; has lots of cumin in it. Beer battered steak fries are pretty good. That’s all I got!

Great dive bar to hang with friends. Good bar food. Very crowded. Parking an be a challenge but that’s because of the location.

If you like dive bars, this is the place for you. If you like insects in your food, this is the place for you. If you like standing in someone else’s urine in a rest room, this is the place for you.

Overrated. Now that Malvern is going through a revitalization/modernization of sorts, places like the local Christopher’s easily give the Pig a run for it’s money. Sure, it has a certain charm. Beer selection is decent. But I’ve eaten here multiple times and darned if I don’t remember a single dish I’ve gotten here. Maybe the beer is to blame? I dunno. It’s cool, worth trying once, but again, vastly overrated.

This is my favorite place to go and I go about 5x a month. I love pubs with a changing draft beer selection. Fantastic service and I can watch my football matches.

Barely a 3 star, Really. When I first stepped into the place I thought this was totally my kind of place. The pig centric décor and the lounge type of seating area made the place very unique. I went with friends who were«regulars». The menu looked very appealing. I followed their recommendations, and the food did not disappoint. The problem was, it took a loooong time to get the food out. Luckily I was not in a hurry, and I learned to give plenty of time whenever I went there. It’s consistently slow. What’s also consistent, was every special request of mine did not get to the kitchen, and I had to ask repetitively, which was a pain. Yet surprisingly, all of my friends’ requests were taken care of right away. I also had to request silverware, but my friends got theirs. Points got taken off there. Beer was definitely the point of attraction here. They definitely have a great list on tap, and it updates often. My problem is again, was the service. The bartenders obviously knew my friends and immediately greeted them and started chatting with them. «This is a great sign» I thought, «We’d be taken care of» I thought. But as my friends’ glasses were filled, the bartender didn’t even ask me what I wanted to drink. One time the bartender was busy facebook friending another Regular, and left me and some other people at the bar holding our empty glasses. I sure hope she got good tips from these Friends, because she’d need them to compensate the people like me. So to all the regulars of the Flying Pig, congratulations. You’re well taken care of and it shows. For me, there are more than enough places I can get craft beer and decent food, even when the servers and bartenders don’t know my name.

The Flying Pig Saloon… First, let me start by saying I like the theme and décor of this bar. My friend and I decided to go Sunday night for a bite to eat, and it wasn’t packed. Maybe my eyes were deceiving me, but only one guy was working the f.o.h. He made drinks and served the few tables near the bar. Dude was very straightforward, «what do you want?» type of guy. The service was still great, maybe it was a rough night for him but personality is key. I ordered the mushroom portobello sandwich along with an order of mussels. The sandwich was good nothing special, the mussels were great but I disliked the amount of minced garlic in the white sauce. My friend ordered the crab cakes, decent amount of crab but too many diced onions in the batter. Guess what Unilocalers? The beer was cold with a great head, this is a first for me… Kudos to the staff for checking the keg and frig temps… I would like to mention, to those who like playing the jukebox. Sunday night was the battle of the bands. My two songs never played, I believe people paid the extra credit for their song to come on next. It was a ridiculous wait and I left not knowing if my songs were played. The jukebox situation was so serious, i over heard an older guy yell at a woman, «The song is from Rush, Bitch!» Wtf… Is this what I should expect in Malvern? I’d come back but I won’t use the jukebox. lol

Really, it’s ok. The ambiance and kitch of the place is fun. There are regulars there, obviously, and they are definitely treated well. The beer selection is definitely there. The food was very good. A few things: the kitchen was extremely slow. It took about 20 minutes to get our appetizer. The bartender was attentive enough to send our dinners back when they tried to serve it about 2 minutes after we got our appetizer. They seemed to be understaffed and the bartender was getting a bit edgy. For an establishment apparently so well-versed in beer, my heart hurt every time I saw them pouring a Guinness. If someone poured me a pint of Guinness straight on, leaking over the sides, head that took up the entire glass, no time to settle, et cetera, I would have sent it right back. It hurt a little each time I saw it happen, which was quite often. The bartender was not in a very good mood and it was showing. He was saying negative stuff about some fellow patrons in front of us and it was uncomfortable. The staff also started slamming bottles into the trash for some reason and for a minute we thought we may be signing waivers for«Bar Rescue». It seemed so out-of-place and unnecessary. Will we be back? Maybe. Food is decent, beer list is good, but they need to staff up and for the love of all things holy, learn how to pour a Guinness.

My sister and I popped in to Flying Pig Saloon on a Friday night when we happened to be in Malvern. The place was totally packed but we were able to score the last available two top table. There didn’t seem to be more than a couple servers but there were also a couple bussers running around. That said, service was still on the slow side, and our orders were inaccurate so we had to keep asking for things which was annoying for us and our server. We had a round of Moscow Mules which were served in copper mugs, but without lime. My sister ordered a taco salad which was on special, but it didn’t come with dressing, which we had to request. I had a buffalo chicken wrap with fries. It was delicious, but served with the dressing in the wrap, which I would have preferred on the side, as requested. We also had to ask for silverware and napkins after receiving our food. Would I go back? Probably, if I’m ever in the area again. Maybe I’d choose to sit at the bar or at a pub table near the bar, if the option was available.

We liked it so much the first time we went back a week later. The beer selection is a five star extravaganza. Some great interesting brews with lots of variety and even an extensive cider list. If you have a question about taste, type or cost of your beverage just ask as the servers are very knowledgeable. Lunch during our second visit was later and the place was busy on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated promptly and the service was friendly and fast. The menu is extensive but the favorite of the table during our last dine was the roast pork sandwich. You can also add cheese, peppers, etc. The dish comes with chips but they have excellent fries and/or onion rings. The first time I dined here I had the mussels in garlic sauce and they were amazing. The next visit I had the portobello mushroom sandwich and it was less than stellar. I would give that dish about a two-star — oh well. People also tried the soup and enjoyed. Ask as it changes daily. The place has a fun vibe and there are several generations dining and enjoying the atmosphere.
