This is where my husband and I had our first date several years back. The food is just great, and the staff are very helpful and kind. We come here often. They have a great reasonable average price as well. I highly recommend coming here for sushi!

I can’t believe they don’t deliver to Belmar. So disappointing because the food is great. I’m 3.8 miles away. I’d be willing to pay an increased delivery fee to have this food delivered to my door. Just a suggestion. :-)

So happy we went here. It was a little on the quiet side, but it’s the offseason so what isn’t. Food was delicious, we started with a crab salad and got the naughty girl roll and the beach roll with a sashimi regular for our main course. The fish was delicious and the sashimi had beautiful cuts, the salmon was beyond flavorful. The wait staff was friendly, not overbearing and did a great job. It’s also byob with a liquor store right around the corner. I will definitely be going back.

Sushi is good but I tried to use a coupon advertised on their website by showing it on my phone and was told it needed to be printed. In this day and age who prints coupons??? They refused to give me just 5 dollars off my 38.00 purchase. I should have let them keep their sushi. For future takeout orders I will drive to Legends which is priced the same and better quality. This owner needs to wake up and get with the times.

Been going here and ordering take out since they opened. This past year the food is flat out not good. Yaki udon, all noodle, no veg, no protein. Used to be the best chicken yaki udon around. Hibachi was ok, proteins were over cooked and dry. But most importantly the sushi. It was gross. To the point where I threw it out. No knife skills were evident. The fish tasted old & the rice didn’t even seem fresh. So disappointing! What happened here? I need to find a new sushi place. Won’t be going back after a few bad meals at high prices.

I’m a little surprised to see negative reviews of this place. I have not eaten in the actual restaurant since I always have it delivered via Grubhub, so I can’t say anything about the service as I haven’t eaten inside. But the sushi is very good! I’ve had several rolls from here and liked all of them and thought that they were all very fresh. Delivery is pretty fast and has always been accurate with the exception of once where they forgot my soup(but it was mdw so I’ll give them a pass, I’m sure it was very busy). I definitely like Asahi and recommend their food.

Today was my first time coming here at Aashi. The food was amazin and the service was awesome. I heard that this resturant is under a new management, anyway that is not the point. The point is that the sushi and rolls here taste wonderful. The fishes are fresh, like the slamon, tuna, yellowtail, and white tuna. I would definitely recommend the special rolls like, valentine roll, P-P beach roll, fashion, chorishi’s fire roll with fried onion chips on the top to make it crunchy, and aslo the resturant’s speciality Asahi roll. I feel wlecomed the moment i walked into the resturant like I realy belong there. My friend ordered the hibachi steak and shrimp and she said that they cooked the steak perfectly just the way she wanted it. She told me that she liked it and told me to get it next time I get here. I would totally get it and this is so far the best sushi restaurant that i have went to. Should check this place out next time, people. Dont miss this awesome place.

Hibachi is hibachi… sushi is no where near fresh… went for a birthday. It was hyped… sushi should NOT be fishy if it’s fresh!

Been eating here for years now. I do think it is the most reasonably priced, freshest sushi around. They have some great lunch specials and the sushi tastes fantastic. It is in a great location with ample parking and the restaurant itself is very clean. Pretty consistent and unique rolls.

The scene: Asahi Sushi, Manasquan, NJ. 7:30PM. The players. Me and my pal Anna; Pam and John; The Waitress Anna and I are seated. The waitress approaches. W: Herro!* May I take your order? Anna: We’re going to order appetizers for now. Our friends [gestures at two empty spots next to us] will come in a little bit. W: Okay! Me: One order meat gyoza; one order spring rolls. Anna: And we’ll order the rest when our friends… W [cutting her off]: I know. Me: Ooooo… kay. [15 minutes go by.] W drops off appys, re-appears 15 minutes later. W: Are you waiting for someone? Anna: Um. yeah. Me: … [fast forward five minutes.] W: Waiting, yes? Anna:… Me: YES. Pam and John arrive; W re-appears to take order. John, Pammy, and Anna order, seemingly without incident. Me: I’ll have the Rainbow roll and the… um, do you have Ikura? W: Wha? Me: Ikura. Salmon Roe. W: No, we don’t have. Me: Hmmm…[ponders, looking for substitute.] W: We have Salmon Ro’. [points at menu.] Me: No, that’s sake, the salmon roll. I want Ikura, salmon RoE. The salmon eggs? But if you don’t have them, I’ll order something else. W: Yes, yes, we have salmon ro’. Me: … not sake, right? W: no, no, salmon ro’. Me:…ooo…kay. I’ll have the Ikura, then, the salmon RoE. W: Okay! Be right back! Me, to table: I’m worried. Anna: I would be, too. No points if you guess the ending of this charade. Points to anyone who can tell me how I could have possibly made it clearer to the waitress what I wanted. Prices were really fair; food was excellent, but the service… oh, the service… *As an Asian American who still sometimes mixes up my ars and els, I fully reserve the right to spell out exactly what I heard.
