I tried this place three times, in hopes of finding a gluten-free/celiac-friendly diner that was reasonably priced. After the third try, we will not be going back. The first time in, my fiancé and I got dinner on a Friday night. Despite the recommendations online to make reservations for Friday nights, there was hardly anyone there. The cooks were having a great time, though, playing great 80s songs and singing along. It’s BYOB, so my fiancé cracked one open and started dancing along in his seat. I thought we had picked an OK place, despite having the place mostly to ourselves. I was dealing with a very limited diet at the time, thanks to a recent celiac diagnosis and recovering from an ulcer. I explained to the server, and was assured everything would be prepared GF. I ordered the salmon with spinach, and the server was helpful in replacing anything else on the dish I was feeling iffy about at the time.(Ulcers suck!) I could hear the server tell the cooks the celiac warning. The salmon was delicious, moist and nicely seared. Spinach was also good. It came with potatoes that were a bit too heavily seasoned for me. I didn’t feel great the next day, but I wasn’t sure if it was from Jersey Grille or something else — maybe just a whole side of spinach. I was still detoxing a bit from going GF at this time. I went back with a friend for brunch a few months later, dreaming about getting GF pancakes from a diner. There were a few more customers on a Saturday morning than on a Friday night, but still not crowded. We had a different customer experience this time — our server was the same woman, but she was a bit inattentive to us. There was a table next to us that was obviously dealing with some sort of issue — either they were having a bad day, or they were dealing with a big problem with their order/service. This was noticable and made it a bit awkward for us. I ordered coffee and was disappointed that for a place boasting GF and vegan service, they didn’t offer vegan creamer for coffee. We ordered our food and were catching up, but I kept getting distracted by a man running back and forth through the front door to bring a delivery from his car parked out front to the kitchen, directly through the main dining area at 11 a.m. on a Saturday. I thought this was odd timing for a food delivery, and he was being loud and yelling for the other employees to stop standing around and to hustle and help him. Our server seemed to be stretched thin already, so this made me feel uncomfortable again. The pancakes arrived and were good, but maybe not as good as I had been dreaming about. It was nice to have GF pancakes with that diner-style griddle crisp, but they were a bit heavy, a little greasy, and I came home and gave all the leftovers to my fiancé. I wasn’t feeling well by this point because the meal just felt really heavy. I guess we needed to really learn our lesson a third time because we went back this weekend for an impromptu Valentine’s night out. I wanted to go somewhere else, but we were worried the other places we were considering would have expensive pre-fix options and be very busy because of the Valentine’s weekend. Jersey Grille seemed to be the right price and I kept wanting to give them a shot as a GF place. I wish we had braved the lines at Pascal and Sabine because I ended up not feeling well the rest of the evening after we ate. We had a Greek sausage appetizer, which turned out to just be a big bowl of sausage that had been thinly cut and sauteed. They were a bit dry, really spicy to me, just OK. When my pasta primavera came, I noticed a bit more sauce on one side of the dish than the other. I kept scooting it around, hoping it would evenly spread out and not be too much sauce overall, but it was SOMUCHSAUCE. They pasta kept sliding off my fork because the noodles were loaded with all this oily white sauce. So oily that the oil started pooling on the edges of the dish. Veggies were overcooked, very soft, and pretty much the same texture as the spaghetti. Not very vibrantly colored veggies either, for a place so into all fresh, «no freezer» products. The dish was not very flavorful overall. I honestly thought I could have made something a million times better at home with my boxed pasta, frozen Wegmans veggies and some olive oil and garlic, for maybe $ 4 instead of the priced $ 16. We ended up telling the chef(i.e. the loud guy who had been running around yelling at people on my second visit) how we were disappointed with my meal, and he offered to take it off our bill and to cook another one for us to take home and try the next day. He constantly pointed to how cold it was that day(oh yea, it was FREEZING in the dining room), and how that was causing the sauce to separate. This seemed really odd to me. We took the second pasta portion home, but I felt so awful from the meal for the rest of the night that I haven’t touched it.

Visited The Jersey Grille last night with friends. We all thoroughly enjoyed the freshly prepared food. I have dined there numerous times and highly recommend the chicken parmesan, the pasta primavera, the half of chicken and the Maryland crab cakes. They were all prepared gluten free and far exceeded my expectations! The chocolate shake is a delicious treat. Service was excellent and the chef came to our table to ask if we had any other special requirements.

Server was great but food was insultingly bad. I kept thinking that Chef Gordon Ramsay was going to burst through the doors at any moment for his next episode of Kitchen Nightmares. What was ordered: Greek salad, gluten free B.L.T., and a hamburger with a side of onion rings. What we received: An alright Greek salad without lettuce(quasi-acceptable), a B.L.T. wrap because they no longer serve gluten free items besides wraps, and a steam/grilled/dead burger patty slopped between two oversized buns — none of the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, or horseradish that it was supposed to come with — and onion rings that were left in the fryer for a week. I honestly thought that the onion rings were actually burned Funyons. We sent the onion rings backed and were met with a glare from the janitor/head«chef» as if we were crazy for rejecting them. We noticed that, literally, ½ of everybody else in the restaurant had sent their food back to the kitchen. The topper: the cash registers were not working. We spent as much time trying to pay as we did waiting for our food. I feel embarrassed for having chosen this place as a lunch destination for my party and I. Please stay away.

We’ve been going there for several years here and there. They never seem to get it quite right. There’s always some kind of issue. Mistakes with food, service always very slow. There never seems to be a sense of urgency there. Always wait forever for refills on water or other drinks. Food takes ages. When you ask for ketchup you get one when 4 people are having burgers etc, etc. Recently it appears that the portions have been cut waaay back. Not a good sign. We ordered the burrata cheese and it was curdled inside like cottage cheese. It should have been liquid cream. There was only two skimpy slices of tomato and they were not jersey fresh ones as it was stated. They were pink hot house ones. The plate was sprinkled with a meager few leaves of greens and maybe two pieces of basil. On our recent visit our server was very curt. Not one of us cared for her. When one of us ordered soup and salad for dinner she commented«that’s it?» Sliders were cold. Burger was served rare that was supposed to be medium and the medium rare was almost well done. One had the wrong cheese on it. When we asked the server what were the cheese choices she got annoyed and said we have a lot. Anyway, long story short, it’s very hit or miss there. The best part are the boardwalk fries and the sweet potato fries with marshmallow sauce for dipping. Stick with simple things if you go.

So, the service was great. Waitresses are super sweet and accommodating. I have been here multiple times, and am never disappointed with the service or the food.(I recommend the Greek sausage appetizer and the seafood pescadoro!) HOWEVER, the owner is insane. I have been here several times and every time, without fail, I hear the owner either yelling at someone on the phone(«you’ll leave when I tell you to leave!») or at his staff. He is not only unaware of his surroundings within the restaurant, but I also witnessed his behavior in the parking lot, as he violently pulled out from his parking space, peeled out, and returned 5 minutes later only to park in the handicapped space. The only thing handicapped about this man is his social graces. Food is awesome, service is great, owner is an ass.

Had lunch at the Jersey Grille yesterday for the first time. Was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the interesting décor. The restaurant is painted steel gray with green trim. Black-and-white photographs of old New Jersey establishments were on the walls. We were immediately greeted by our friendly waitress and my husband and I both ordered burgers. Mine was topped with the most delicious caramelized onions and a generous helping of cheese. My husband had the Italian burger, which is a mix of beef, hot and sweet sausage and topped with mozzarella and marinara. Both of us were happy with our choices. The boardwalk fries were freshly cut and tasted delicious. We also ordered onions rings that came with two dipping sauces. My husband loved the spicy chipolte one and I enjoyed the sweeter sauce, which tasted like a mustard/honey bbq sauce. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. We were very happy that the owner of the restaurant honored our certificate despite the fact that he was having an issue with it. From beginning to end both the service and the food were five stars. Also note that while we were eating, the staff was taking numerous reservations for dinner that evening, leading me to believe they must do a great business at dinner also. We will definitely be back.

I really want to like this place but my experience was not good. place is a cute little place, from the start workers seemed attentive and welcoming. Once we ordered the food the waitress became so occupied handling 3 different complaints from surrounding tables she neglected us. We waited 20 minutes for her to just bring the check. DONOTORDERTHECHICKENBUFFALOWRAP… thought it would have been like typical wraps but it is cold and in some creamy buffalo sauce? It was not good at all. Will not be returning.

i’ve passed by this place so many times and finally decided to give it a try and I’m glad I did. I went there for lunch. This place is nothing fancy but clean and the service was excellent and the food very good. I had the spinach dip with these excellent chips that was amazing and the chicken quesadilla which was very good. I will come back and try it for dinner since you can bring your own liquor. It’s very casual and it’s worth the trip.

We found Jersey Grille in . It’s located in a shopping center on art 35. It was a really good surprise. The wait staff was friendly & attentive. The good is fresh(no frozen). I had the Chicken Cordon Blue. Relatively inexpensive, dinner for 2 was $ 63. We liked it and will return again to try their Sunday breakfast. The owner was very in control and proud of the quality and a pleasure to deal with.

Well, if you like fresh food, this is the place to come! I heard that the owner doesn’t even own a freezer in the restaurant. Not many people know about this place, its kind of tucked away with a little group of stores, off HWY35, not really visible from the road! I heard about it, by word of mouth. It’s a BYOB and they have a nice assortment of food on the menu. Our server was Katie who was extremely knowledgeable about all the entrees and gave us an excellent description of the specials! I enjoyed everything from the salad, to my seafood alfredo entry, which had a creamy sauce that wasn’t too heavy, it was very light, prepared just right! Delicious! For dessert I ordered the flourless, chocolate torte, which was heavenly! Yum… It’s certainly worth giving it a try! You’ll be glad you did! Enjoy…

We tried Jersey grille twice. Once for take out. Once for dinner… The childrens portions for $ 7.00 are fine for a toddler, definately not enough for even a 4 year old. The«childrens sliders» was just really one very small slider. The 2 chicken fingers were also tiny(but homemade). I paid $ 52.00 for 1 chicken quesadilla($ 14.oo), NO salsa… &5 kids meals that left all the kids still hungry. we were not given the drinks or ice cream included in the kids meals… The second try we dined in the restaurant. The owner stopped in while we were waiting for our food, was not talking very nice to any of the employees, then left. I had the brisket, which looked like grey microwaved meat with a small bbq sauce on the side. VERY unappatizing. We waited 25 minutes after we were done eating for the waitress to come back over., and finally got up & asked for the check at the front counter. Not sure what the issues were. There were 3 waitresses for 10 guests, and the service sucked! What if the place was full???

Very good fresh food. A lot of organic/fresh choices. Always well prepared. Service is always prompt and friendly. The shakes are amazing. One of the best kobe beef burgers I’ve had. The onion rings are tasty and just prepared perfectly with a dipping sauce that you’ll want to just drink down. Free range chicken is good but I would not recommend the chicken parm sandwich.

Just got 3 Burgers, a fry, 2 drinks, & two sides w a coupon from & only cost $ 18,(w/o tip)!! Best burger I’ve ever had. They cook it exactly the way u want and juicy every time! The fries are top notch too; nice and crispy w a lil pepper. The icing in the cake was the slaw w horseradish mayo and potato salad w red. mayo; so creamy and delicious. Would give a ten if I could! Will def. b heading there again soon!

While I found the food quite good, the service staff lacked well… service. We waited for over an hour for our food(while others who arrived after us were served and left before us) and weren’t even offered bread. The owner thinks he is Gordon Ramsey, but doesn’t seem to realize what a turn-off poor service, arrogance and a non-apologetic attitude can have on the diner’s experience.

The food here is always great(never had a bad meal), but the service sometimes lacks. The owner tends to reprimand his employees in front of customers which is why I took a star away.

I just paid $ 9.99 for a grilled cheese sandwich. Yes you read that right, and the fries I ordered were $ 3.99EXTRA. Absurd, should’ve gone to the diner. Unbelievable!

We stopped in tonight to get some takeout from Jersey Grille. My husband had an open faced sausage parm and I had the crab cake dinner. My crab cakes were AMAZING! I love crab cakes with lots of crab meat and not a lot of «filler» These were spot on and delicious. The sausage parm was also wonderful. We have gotten takeout from here several times and it never disappoints. The salads are always super fresh. My husband swears by their chicken Parmesan dinner(but always wishes they gave more garlic bread) and I crave the Kobe bolognese– soooo good. The restaurant also offers an array of gluten free options and offers breakfast as well(something we didn’t know and were pleasantly surprised to hear) We chatted with the staff and owner while we waited for our food. Nice people.

We came here as a large group for breakfast and were very pleased. The quality of the food for breakfast was a lot better than a diner. We were not expecting much for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. The pancakes were absolutely excellent. I usually don’t order pancakes out but I gave it a shot. The scrambled eggs were also excellent and the home fries were the best i ever had. The only small drawback was the slow service although many people in the group ordered pancakes. I will be back again and will keep this place in mind for a great breakfast place!

The reason that I tried this place is because my trainer mentioned it and told me that it was great. So I went. I hate the location. It is in the same strip mall as Pier One in Manasquan. I have been there about 10 times since. The salads are good and meats are organic and you can opt for gluten free(PLUS for me). Nothing is frozen… they do not have a freezer. It’s pricey for a burger joint and the menu is big. The owner is loud and not very nice to his staff… that’s all I have to say.
