Food is always fresh and delicious! The staff is friendly, funny, and entertaining as well. Always good for a hot day as they have the patio to enjoy

First, The Prime Rib, Tavern Cut was dry and no Au Juice and we had to ask for the Bread and Butter. The waiter forgot the salad and it was brought to the table with the main meal. My wife got the Terrika Chicken and it was dry but the pineapple helped. The noise level was terrible compared tot he old location that was in the City. I would not recommend the City Tavern to anyone and I would not compare the Prime Rib to Outback.

Best value for your money in Manassas. Love the new location too. Prime rib is nice. Nice portions and good for the whole family, alone or as a couple. I would say this restaurant knows what the public wants and delivers it!!!

Went at around 12am on a Saturday, one table was occupied and some people at the bar. Waiter was nice and food descent(can’t really mess up on a BLT, and fries were hot when they came out. Only disappointment was stood for over five minutes for someone to seat us. What’s the point of having a sign that says«please wait to be seated» if no one pays attention to guests coming in.

If there was an option for zero or negative stars that is what this place would get. My girl and I JUST walked out of this place 5 minutes ago. We sat in the bar area for 15 minutes and NOONE came over to greet us or take drink orders. We weren’t even greeted at the front or walked into the bar area. It was our very first time here and also our very last! Miss KCs. I heard the prior location was dirty and ratchet as hell anyways. Bye bye Crappy Tavern!

First off, I would like to say service here was excellent. Our server/waiter Mike was very nice and personable. Even the manager/owner was very nice and friendly. My two friends and I stumple upon this restaurant tavern while searching for late night eats, that open late while on our drive to Philly from Shenandoah National Park. We found the place via Unilocal and after reading prior customer reviews we decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately for us, their full menu is not available after 10pm. We got there at 11pm. It closes at 2am. But there is the late night limited menu available. Originally I ordered the fried oyster sandwich and garden salad. But they ran out of fried oyster so I chose their fried cod sandwich. My friend ordered the fried calamari, fried zucchini sticks, and cajun Chicken wings. They were out of the fried calamari, so she chose the mozzarella sticks in its place. The waiter /Mike was very apologetic for the lack of two items. Even the manager came out and apologized. For drinks I had the Mr. Pibb(Dr pepper) and my friend had the angry orchard apple cider. Let me tell u the food was fresh with fresh ingredients. The food did not disappoint. My favorite was the zucchini sticks. Delicious and highly recommended. The french fries that came with my cod sandwich was delicious too. Mozzarella was fresh and lightly cursted. Mike told us, all their ingredients and food are made fresh every morning. I believe it because you can taste the difference. My cod sandwich however was so so. Food was great, service was superb. If I was in VA again, I would definitely go back to this place.

Six of us had birthday lunch there. Waiter was wonderful. Great atmosphere, which is important to me. Tasty cocktails. Everyone’s food was delicious. Wonderful house bread. Do not know our waiter’s name, but he was top notch. Waiter said he made the Baklava, and it was the best I’ve ever had. Slice of birthday cake, with whipped cream and candle, for birthday girl was on the house. I wondered if the waiter was the owner, because he really cared. I love this place. This was my first visit. Beautiful bar, also. Carolyn

After driving by here many times, my wife and I decided to give this new restaurant(or location for the restaurant, I’m not sure) a shot. The good: This place has really good food at surprisingly good prices. I was honestly shocked at how cheap their food is vs. most restaurants in the area(especially the chains). Any time my wife and I can get out of a restaurant for under $ 30 is a good time. I’m always on the hunt for a good burger, and City Tavern certainly didn’t disappoint. I’m not sure where they get their fries from or how they prepare them, but they are out of this world amazing. And the bread that comes out warm before your meal is delicious! The bad: Nobody seemed to notice when we walked in the door. Sure, it was 30 minutes after opening on a weekday, but staff members had seen us come in and chose to ignore us. Finally someone(a manager, I think) told an employee who was sitting at the bar drinking a lemonade to seat us, and she seemed annoyed by that. Once we finally got seated, I think there was some confusion as to who our server was going to be(two stopped by our table to take our drink order). At some point after that the manager loudly asked staff members in his vicinity who wanted to go home(I guess they were over-staffed?). Not a huge deal, I understand why he’d want to do this but it’s not the best impression to leave for your patrons. Four out of the five for the good food and great value. My wife and I will definitely return!

This is not Morton’s. It’s a casual place to relax with friends and a cold beer. The food was good as far as bar food. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were attentive and friendly. They seemed to actually enjoy themselves. Nice TV setup with a relaxing atmosphere. We live close by and would normally go to TGI Fridays when in the mood for a casual meal and a cold beer. This is our new go to place when in the mood. They have a nice outdoor seating area and we look forward to a springtime visit.

Originally a 3 star review, I’m dipping it down to 2 stars because of the post experience. The fare is your typical«tavern» food. Burgers, sandwiches, and steaks. Nothing special. I got a Monte Cristo sandwich, my friend got the prime rib, and we split an appetizer of fried calamari. He also got a salad. You also get house bread prior to the order. It’s not very good. The bread tasted borderline stale and was cold. The calamari was overcooked, the breading falling off, but overall not bad, especially with the dipping sauce that it came in. Quite frankly, that was the best part of the lunch. While my friend enjoyed his prime rib, my Monte Cristo was mediocre at best. It kinda was like French Toast meets Grilled Cheese and throw in two meats, but unfortunately it came back in the form of heartburn. The french fries that came with it(also with a pickle spear) were uninspiring and lacked and originality(they tasted like the fries you’d get at a snack bar). I asked for broccoli as a substitute, which tasted a bit better than the fries did. Next time if I come here I’ll try the prime rib because he said he enjoyed it, but this visit wasn’t the greatest.

Nice cheap place to grab prime rib. And Kevin the waiter is awesome. He saw we had waited a while and earned over and took care of us. He checked on us often to ensure we were doing ok.

Bland food with a side of attitude. We went there for Brunch today, there were 7 of us so we pretty much had everything they had to offer between us. Nobody really enjoyed what they had. The Mimosas are $ 4.50 for a small ice-filled glass with some oj and a splash of champagne. The waitress had the personality of a gnat and barely grunted at us. Total tab with tip(yes, I left the standard 15% because I thought she might need it for some therapy) was $ 130. I wished I would have stayed home, spent 75% less and made a meal that would have been 5X better. We’ve been here twice now and will not be returning.

Our waitress was impatient and rude. I can’t tell you what her name is because she never introduced herself. Our first drinks werr ok. Our second drink(s) tasted and smelled like cleaner. Dish soap, seriously. We told the waitress and she took them to the bar and told the bartender we were f’ing bitches(one if the people in our party was behind her)…only her’s was uncensored. The food is decent but honestly the service is so bad it’s not worth it. Stay away!!! It was Cindy!

I felt unwelcome there. The female bartender acted like she didn’t want us there so I finished my one watery beer and left.

Warning: Novel-sized review. I really wanted to like this place. My first visit here did not give me a good impression. To start I ordered the French onion soup. This is one of my all time faves and this soup definitely had potential. The broth was very flavorful but just a notch above lukewarm. I can’t even count how many times I’ve burned my tongue with FO soup so somewhere in the middle temp-wise would have been fine. This also means the croûton was very soggy. The cheese on top was not melted near enough, like no browning whatsoever. So it was very gooey but not in a good way. Heated longer in the oven and it would be perfect! My hubby has a strong aversion for onions and requested no scallions with the chili. Out it came with scallions, albeit, on the side among his beloved jalapeños. Onto the main course. The hubby’s prime rib came out cooked nicely but it was missing his side of green beans. And my Greek salad was missing the tzaziki sauce. Oops! I really hate asking for things. It makes me feel needy which I am not. I expect things a certain way because I know how it’s supposed to be. Then, the ambiance. It’s a busy restaurant and I liked the atmosphere. But we were seated literally right next to the bussing station(in the middle of the restaurant) and it was incredibly loud. The people using the station apparently did not remember that there is a table ONTHEOTHERSIDE. Crash, bang! Silverware clattering! It was a ruckus. Then add in the server literally shouting across the restaurant to her coworker to log her out of the POS system. Three times. Add to that, one of the busboys spraying noxious chemicals(Fantastik) directly onto the chairs and table behind us. I’ve never seen such a thing in a dining area full of patrons. When we left, the two ladies at the door barely muttered a word goodbye; one of them was the screecher from earlier. Finally, people were smoking their dirty nasty cigarettes on the patio even though the menu expressly states no smoking allowed inside or out on the patio. So walking through a cloud of smoke on the way out was the cherry on the pie. Mine and my unborn child’s lungs thank you.

Welcome to Old Town Manassas! At last opened in a new location in the building that was formerly KC’s. They bring 20 plus years of restaurant tradition from their former location. Open today for lunch starting @ 11am. They have done an excellent job restoring this building and adding food options. An easy access location right on the corner of Stonewall St & Center St. A really nice building with multiple dining rooms & even a nice patio. Their prime rib is exceptional. You can have it with Cajun spice for an up charge of $ 1. You get a a salad as a side included. They have many other great options from an extensive menu. They even have private dining rooms that can be reserved for special occasions. Check it out !

I have never had bad food here! It’s amazing. The Greek owners really know what they’re doing & I love that they have daily specials. It’s fresh & so yummy! Plus their bread is to die for! It’s also very well priced. Totally affordable!!! & their patio. Sometimes I choose to go there just for the patio. Minus a star BC of the crowd it pulls in late nights. Some of those people need to be kicked out. But I guess that’s not really their fault. I’m also excited they’re moving to KC’s. I think that will do so much good for the business.

Ah, I really don’t know where to start. The staff is super friendly and it’s definitely a locals bar. My mom loves this place so I go with her often. The food is just average. It’s stereotypical old fashioned comfort food. For instance: meatloaf sandwiches, fried stuff, etc. in terms of quality it’s just ok. The soup is always good. It’s not a fancy place, but you’ll get full and you’ll have tons of options to choose from. You’ll feel like you’re eating dinner at your friends moms house. That’s the best way I can describe it. The atmosphere is blah, but the service staff and the locals that come are great and you can make friends. It is a «cheers» type bar for an older crowd(40’s — 60’s).
