Wife and I stopped by for an early dinner. Had the wrapped brie and Mary’s meatballs for apps. Probably best apps anywhere. Absolutely delicious. Split a Philly cheesesteak for the main meal. Yummo. Need to over on that side of town more often. Service outstanding.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I came here with a few friends on a week night. We ordered cheesesteaks and beers. The food was on point. I love a good cheesesteak. They also had a decent beer selection. I will come back again. Only downside is one toilet per gender. That might cause issues on a weekend.

I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that I plan to eat here again tomorrow, which will be three weekends in a row now! The staff is really nice, the atmosphere is laid back, the beer is good, and the cheesesteaks are awesome. What more would you want on a cold weekend afternoon?

Utterly forgettable. Main draw is it is pretty much in the center of Old Town Manassas, thus conveniently located. There is some nearby parking, but not much. Service was adequate and prices reasonable. However I did not try their cheesesteak which is supposed to be a big attraction. We chose the place simply because of convenience. Nothing wrong with the place yet nothing compels me to return either. Your mileage may vary.

Here on business & was recommended by my hotel as a great local place. Janice at the bar is terrific! !! I felt like a local. Had the Chicken cheesesteak and all I can say is. AMAZING! They import the known Ambroso Bakery bread straight from Philly. .their housemade chips were so good I’d consider eating them off of the floor. Great local tap selection, awesome Happy Hour specials. Top notch bar, not a fancy place. .just down to earth and d’lish. Every time I am in the area, I will be back.

Owners — awesome and very involved in their operation. They focused on a lot of the little details that made our experience really special and fun. Servers — aaaaaaaamazing! Love Shawn/​Sean! He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and craft beers and super friendly! Great service! Food — ridiculously delicious! The New England Clam Chowder was so good I had to take some extra home and their cheesesteaks have the right amount of everything Philly going on. Definitely got that melt in your mouth quality that you’re looking for in a classic hot sandwich. And those daggone homemade chips… I couldn’t get enough of those! So good! This old town favorite spot is a favorite for a reason. If you haven’t been… Go!

Great place, fun atmosphere, my number one go to place when I need a REAL philly cheesesteak. No other place in the area compares.
Municipal parking across the street.
Atmosphere is cozy, warm, and gives you the feel of a friendly towny go to place where everybody knows your name.
Service is fast, friendly, and couldn’t be better.
Food is served hot, beer served cold, and you are not leaving hungry or thirsty.
Great year round place to go. And best part they have local musicians playing Friday nights.
Lots of specials and happy hours…

There to watch the game. Small TVs and live music, which would normally be nice, but it was distracting from the game. Seems like there were a couple of «regulars» there that had already had too much to drink and were being loud and obnoxious.

I went for the cheese steak. It was ok, nothing to brag about. I’ve been to Philly and had the reel thing. This wasn’t quite there. The roll was awesome! I did enjoy the beer, good selection. I’ll go back and try something else on the menu.

Great experience. Tuesday night is burger night-​$ 5.00 burgers and they are half lbs and awesome. Cheap happy hour drinks and nice, informed wait staff. Plenty of free parking in the Manassas parking garage. We’ll be back every Tuesday.

We sat at the bar and had the Reuben sandwich and chicken parm sandwich. The chicken parm was excellent but the Reuben was truly a standout.
My wife is getting annoyed because I keep talking about how good that Reuben sandwich was.
It was great to see beer offerings from local favorites Badwolf and Tin Cannon.
The bartender who served us was great as well.
Why have I lived in Manassas for long and not been coming here?

Fantastic cheesesteaks and a good atmosphere. Love the outdoor seating they have now with the renovations on this strip. Philly Tavern is a go to spot for me in Old Town. Absolutely have to go check this place out if you haven’t yet.
That being said… I was INCREDIBLY disappointed with the service I received today while stopping in here. My waitress (middle aged blonde lady, didn’t catch her name) was not attentive at all and seemed all but pissed off that I had chosen to come in and eat. Between her curt and borderline disrespectful demeanor (she literally asked when taking my order «So what do you want?») and her preference for chatting it up with the bartender and other regulars, I have to say that it was by far the worst experience I’ve had here. I love Philly Tavern, but you guys need to sort out this woman’s attitude problem before this loyal customer takes his business elsewhere in the future.

It’s not a Traditional Philly without Cheese Wiz… and they have Cheese Wiz!
The first thing you notice about the Philly is the size… it’s probably 14″ hoagie role loaded with meat. The hoagie role is light a fluffy just like the ones you get in Philly. Grilled onions are standard, but you can add a variety of cheeses, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato. The sandwich comes with chips or a huge pile of fries.
Great place, food and staff. I’ll be back.

This is my second time having work training in this area. I discovered this wonderful place on my first trip. Of all the restaurants around, this was by far my favorite. Best Philly cheesesteak I’ve ever eaten. The atmosphere is wonderful and the location is great being in downtown Manassas. I will definitely come here again if in the area. Highly recommended.

I met my retired boss here for lunch yesterday, and had a great experience. We sat outside, so the service dog they brought could enjoy the fresh air and we could as well. Though the gentleman who got our drinks did not take our order, he was very nice. Brough out my water with lemon (a slice of sunshine as he said) and offered to bring the dog some water as well. To our surprise he came back with an actual dog bowl! It was a great gesture that did not go unnoticed.
My cheesesteak was great and huge, and though the outdoor wind made it cold really fast, my boss ordered the Rachel and it was piping hot and also gigantic. We enjoyed the food a lot and have no complaints. I would probably come back and try some other menu items, especially during the day to avoid the probably nighttime crowd.

I enjoyed the fact that it made you feel like you were in a real Philly bar. Having lived there before this place got the feeling spot on minus the attitude. The food for the price was great. nothing to over the top but definitely well worth the price.
The front patio was also a great addition and I hope to go back soon to enjoy it with some friends.

I already like this small hometown bar, I’m definitely an outsider to the regulars but it’s cozy and warm, patrons are nice and the staff even nicer. Full bar here is raging to go but the beer selection is lackluster for a craft beer snob such as myself. Standard stuff with one devils backbone ipa and yards brewery in bottles with a nice printed list that explains what they taste like.
They are boasting their philly background so I had to try a cheesesteak sammich with provolone and omg I’m a happy little girl! Perfect portion of meat to cheese and the fries are cooked to that crispy amazing ness that gives that initial crunch with that softness on the inside. I even love just the slight greasiness from the steak on the bread, just enough to add flavor but not make the bread fall apart. I’m so glad I came! Yes, that’s what she said! Lol
I will be back and I recommend you come to for the cheesesteak and ask for Janis, she’s such a doll!
