House of Tailoring

Very disappointed. I brought a dress in on a Monday & clearly explained that i was attending a wedding a week from that next Saturday & needed the dress hemmed. I tried it on & it was pinned & then I was repeatedly told not to worry about the fact it had so many layers because the work could be done– no problem. A whole week later on the next Monday (now 5 days before the wedding) I received a phone message saying the work could not be done leaving me without an outfit for the wedding. Why it took a whole week to determine that is beyond me. I was told a «whole day» was spent just looking at the dress. Please don’t tell me you did nothing all day except look at my dress to try & find out how to do the work you already repeatedly reassured me you could do. I was very surprised by this outcome but I had never tried this tailor before. If you are not in a hurry for an item to be tailored & don’t actually care if the job even gets done then this tailor would be ok for you. Otherwise I’d try another place.

I cannot tell you how much I love this woman! She saved me when I needed a suit jacket alteration quickly. She is an expert in garment construction as well as tailoring, so she understands what needs to be done to each piece I have brought to her.
It is because of her knowledge that I have brought garments to her that needed to be fixed from other tailors not quite getting it right.
Not only is Hien an expert, she is also a wonderful person. She is sweet and kind and always professional. I feel like I’ve stumbled upon a gold mine.
I very highly recommend her without reservation!

Hien is the greatest! She is a pleasure to work with and has a great turn-​around time.
I take all my jeans to her! She can recognize a great piece of denim from a mile away! She will hem your pants to your specification, including the California-​style hem, where the original hem is reattached after the pant legs have been shortened. Her reattached hems lay flat and do not look altered (both problems I have encountered with other area shops).
