This review is mainly on the vetco clinic they offer.
Yesterday I went to the clinic with my 1
Year old cat and my almost 2 year old son! We waited in line for nearly 3&½ hours the clinic was only from 3−5pm people who have been doing these clinics for over three years were saying they will not be coming back next year. As for me I finally get to the front of the line with a screaming 2 year old and a scared kitten, I get checked in go inside the unsanitary back room where they where giving shots Emma (my cat) was still in her crate the vet put his face up to It and she hissed… PERFECTLY UNDERSTANDABLE CONSIDERING THE WAIT, BEING SCARED, AND HAVING A STRANGER PUT HIS FAVE MEXT TO THE CRATE DOOR. The vet instantly said I i will not work on this cat you can leave! … Ummm excuse me? Don’t you have gloves or are able to let her chill for a sec… I have never been more insulted. With no attempt to give My cat her shots he simply told us to leave. Even when the techs out front who were checking people in said this isn’t the first time they have had a cat scared like this… So are these the people (VETS) petco employs? Yes it is! The tech said she was sending me a voucher so I don’t have to sit in line next time so she isn’t scared… Surprise sh never sent it… After leaving the store I called a supervisor at vetco main office. Even she said the vet was inappropriate and wasn’t fair about it and used his guidelines as a way to have 1 less animal… As for me I now have to Try another clinic tonight 30 miles from me. And if it’s the same vet and refuses her again I will have to put her in a shelter bc our apartments require all vaccines and every other vet is booked out 3 weeks… How do you refuse a kitten and be a child and not even try? Is that your job? You get paid to treat animals right? Now decide of these are the people you want your animal to see?

We were in there last week looking for some goodies for our foster dog. We had decided a gentle leader to walk her would be a good idea. Ashley was so helpful, and gave us some ideas on toys for our new family member. She was easy to talk to, friendly, and really made our experience a good one. I had never seen her in there before, and I hope to see her again for my pet needs.

Love this place! Always friendly staff walking around, giving advice on toys, food, treats, and everything else we needed help with for our 3 dog, 2 cat, and puffer fish family.
Nice selection of dog and cat toys, we’ll priced to match most other stores near by. We would get the Blue cat food and litter, and would save not only on normal shelf cost being cheaper than up the road, but the member card coupons that come every month help!
We always take canned food back to the donation bin at the front of the store, to try and help or shelters; as well as visit the shelter cats for adoption.
The only draw back is that the fish areas gets so busy sometimes, that is hard to find someone to help. However the fish are healthy, great selection, and they are always helpful with questions.

Grooming has Terrible customer service! We had an appointment scheduled for 2pm. we were outside of the store at 1:55 and got a call saying they rescheduled us for 4pm. We came back at 4. After waiting 30 mins in the small waiting room with barking dogs my dog (maltise) became very nervous what dog wouldn’t. when the groomer attempted to take my pet she grabbed her roughly and my pet became defensive. The groomer refused to take our 3lb (accused aggressive) dog. after all that trouble. Oh and they claim we were not up to date on our rabies vac. after we have been going there for over a year and supplied them a document that has the expiration date and she was wearing a tag. for some reason they looked for every reason and put a lot of effort into not taking us that day. We will never go back truly bad experience

The dogs were waiting patiently in line for two hours to get vaccinated and we got there at the start time! The staff was nice but definitely no one was helping manage the line from Petco and Luv My Pet only comes with a small staff. Luckily pet parents all helped each other and maintained calm despite at least 30 dogs in line at a time. I would probably drive the extra time to go back to Saugus or Cambridge at vaccination month next year. The vaccine woman wasn’t super quick this year either and seemed a little rude to her assistant that was setting up the shots and holding the dogs. The line manager /​billing clerk is great and I dealt with him before.

This rating is specific to their grooming service. I like the store itself but will never groom my dog there ever again. We went all in on the grooming: bath, blueberry facial (right!!!), nails, ears, etc. We paid $ 84 to get this done, which was a deal for sure. However, when my husband picked her up and brought her home, she still smelled a bit off, not her usual clean scent. I also noticed her nails didn’t look done. It was the holidays and we were busy running around. We were having family come up right after Christmas so I ended up making another appointment for her elsewhere for the day after Christmas and when we picked her up from the other location, they had assumed we had attempted to groom her ourselves and asked us why we only did half her nails, she was afraid to have her paws touched, had we hurt her is that why we didn’t finish her nails, etc. There were several other things on their list of what was not done correctly, it was embarrassing but we were happy to explain why we brought her in to them. My husband contacted Petco and to their credit, they refunded us the entire amount. When he went in with our receipt and to get the refund, he learned that it was the grooming salon manager that had done our service. I will continue to shop in the store but as for grooming, if that’s the manager’s work, I shudder to think what the rest of the grooming employees do. Not worth it!

Great store! Get all of my puppy food and crickets for the crested gecko from here! However sometimes there is only one register open which creates a huge line! But besides that the food and animal needs are all to expectations!

This specific PETCO offers FREE puppy playtime every Saturday & Sunday 12:00 — 1:00.
The PP program is run very well, and the staff are well trained and explain the rules, and enforce bad pups with time outs if they need them.
Its a nice community builder and a fun way to meet new puppy owners and show off at the same time.
My pup loves it and is so tired at the end.
Pups can go if they are over 8 weeks to 6 months old.

We go here to buy all of our pet’s supplies. Most of the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They also have a wide selection of products at reasonable prices. I like their rewards program because you get a lot of additional discounts.
We bought our 3 guinea pigs from this Petco and could not be happier. The staff in the small animals department were able to answer all of our questions and you could tell that they were animal lovers. One of the evening managers helped us with our third guinea pig we bought and she was extremely helpful! The guinea pigs are definitely in good hands and are treated nicely.
We have also bought fish from this location and were pleased with the level of knowledge from the staff in that department. They have a great variety of fish to choose from!

This Petco stands out from the rest in a good way and a bad way. First lets start with the bad it’s always dirty and you see employees standing outside smoking. Why can’t they go out back and smoke. Now for the good they have a decent selection and there’s one employee there who stands out his name is Gregg he is very knowledgeable on fish, in fact I would probably say he knows the most about fish except for maybe one guy who works at a new store in Derry called Woofmeow but either way very smart. If this store would just keep it at least moderately clean and would have employees smoke out back, it would be the best Petco in NH. At least they have a better selection then petsmart and there pricing isn’t bad either.

I’ve been to many dog groomers in the area and have ended up here — Stacy is great with my dog and always gives him a great new do! It kills me that my dog’s haircut is more expensive than mine, but oh well …

It’s OK. I like the Amherst store better. This one always seems dirty to me and there are often people outside the front door smoking. It’s just very… Manchester.

I’ve used Petco for grooming my dog in the past, but today was the first time at this location & will definatly be using them again. There very friendly & do a great job.

Ive been everywhere to find groomers for my dogs. I ignored petco thinking they are a chain and would not be good. I tried them a few years ago and have been going ever since. Great grooming for my two poodles
