Went to Queens during a bar hop. Parking was easy with a huge lot right nearby. Had no cover charge to hear a kick-ass band with a bit of dance floor space. I was surprised by the lack of patrons. The beer was fantastic and lots of choices to satisfy anyone’s palate. I would recommend this stop to anyone looking for a few brews and/or your looking for a place to hear a band.

This is the second time i have come to this establishment. The first time was when it had just opened. When you enter you immediately will be overwhelmed by the smell of food. The open ceiling in the kitchen leaves you smelling like you were in the fry a lator. The service was bad– it took over 10 minutes for our drinks to come to the table– but the soup and salad we ordered was great. We figured wed give it another try after it had been open for a bit. Our second try we made a reservation. Our drink order again took forever to be received. When i ordered a signature drink off the menu it came to the table tasting sour and terrible. I approached the bar since our server was no where in sight and the bar tender informed me that they had«left Out a few ingredients» and then fixed the drink. We had a small child with us which made the 55 min wait for our food– Painful. 3 fried items and 2 shepherds pie… Not sure what took so long. And again we left there smelling like we were deep fried. We were at the establishment for over 1.5 hrs. The food again was wonderful! Its too bad they cant get the rest of it right.

We came her at 7:30 on a Friday night. There was barely anyone in the restaurant, which should have been a sign but we figured we’d give it a try ourselves. The food was ok, but the service is another story. Our server, along with other staff made us feel uncomfortable by both mocking and questioning us at every turn. The waitress did not know the menu at all, or what she was serving, which makes me nervous about eating here with an allergy. It took FOREVER to get anything, ultimately having to walk up to the server to ask her for our checks after waiting at our table trying to get her attention for 20 minutes. There was also a live band playing that did not suit the theme of the restaurant whatsoever. I’m giving it 3 stars because the food was ok, the location was good, and they handled my gluten allergy fairly well.

The venue showed a lot of early promise but a couple of not-so-great experiences have led to fewer repeat visits than anticipated. The Queen’s Pub and Grille brings a somewhat familiar conceit to Elm Street: the British pub. The nice change is that they have brought it a little more upscale: slightly higher prices but the quality of the food was really strong to start with. The first meal I had there had some of the most delicious pub staples I’ve had in quite sometimes. The pretzels and cheese dip were soft, fresh, and tasty. The veggie burger was solid, as was the pretzel burger. The onion rings were the true standout though: a fresh, crispy, clearly home-made and unique batter surrounding full rings. Best onion rings I had ever had, or at least up there. The first time we went, the service was solid, hostess was very pleasant, and the place showed a lot of promise for a venue getting its sea legs. One of our drinks was wrong, but you know, that kinda thing happens. The second time we went there, there was a little slippage. The service was pretty middling: missing silverware, sporadically available waitstaff(our waiter was nice but more interested in serving the rather photogenic twosome in the corner who were waiting for their third for a long time). Getting a beer fill was a bit of a challenge too. The live music needed some technical work before hand and wasn’t great. Still, the food was quite good and the price was a bit high but competitive. Still hanging in the four-star range. Since then, we’ve gotten takeout a few times with little problem. The side salads are a fantastic takeout option, and everything we got had delivered pretty well. Until today. We put in a takeout order for two salads and an order of onion rings. Came out to $ 20.xx. That was expected and fine. We get there and hand $ 25 to the waiter. He starts by asking if we want change. OK, seemed a little presumptuous to assume a $ 4 tip on a $ 21 takeout, but the question isn’t too far out of left field, as a tip was planned. We ask for the money and were planning to take a tip out of that. He brings back the change… without the coins. It’s hardly a big deal in all honesty, it’s something like 30 cents, but if a customer asks for change, bring all the change. He ended up getting to pocket that and not the additional amount we planned on giving. Then, we get the food back… and those oh-so-amazing onion rings are changed to an overly-floury, standard onion ring batter. Ouch. I like the Queen’s Pub, but I like it less and less each time I end up there. Certainly willing to give it another chance if the right scenario arises, but with two very strong restaurants next door and a lot of local options, it won’t take much more to just leave it off the list.

If you’re interested in great pub food and extremely friendly staff — this is the place to go! The food was fresh(Try the fish and chips, delicious!) and everything came out in a timely fashion. They also have live music that plays, which is exciting for the area! I’m going to have to come back during one of those nights. Overall, I’d recommend and will be back.

Came in right after a Monarch’s game. We were seated immediately, and the hostess was quite nice. Great food, though it did take a bit to come out. I had the drunken pretzel burger, which came with a fantastic beer-cheese sauce. Warning, though, it is huge and quite messy. Anna, our server, did an awesome job. We were very happy with her Also, props to whoever put together the music list. Great songs!

Good Irish Pub food. Try the beer and cheese dip and the fish and chips. Both were excellent. Was surprised not to see a shepherd’s pie on the menu, but I’d rather see a focus on what they know they can do well, which seems to be the case. Service was friendly and attentive, and there was just a fun, chill atmosphere about the place. Would go back again.

CAUTION: FOODPOISONING. My friend and I stopped in for dinner and drinks before work. We ordered the fried mozzarella and our first order came out cold, we sent them back and the manager was very nice and gave us a coupon for a free appetizer the next time we come in. However, when we got our food, the fries were incredibly greasy, her burger was undercooked and my chicken sandwich wasnt great. About an hour after leaving, we both ended up getting sick. My friend and I had to leave work early from throwing up. We paid $ 65 to get sick and missed hours of work right before Christmas. The staff was REALLY nice but don’t waste your time or money.

Lovely experience. I will be back. It was a Saturday night around 7:00– party of two and seated right away. We decided to try this place due to the Unilocal reviews. :) We tried the bacon appetizer to start. It was delicious! We shared/sampled the French onion soup, chicken fingers and a burger with onion rings. Everything was fresh and tasty. The onion rings were cold when they were served and our server –gracious and apologetic — replaced them with hot ones promptly. The place is open and large. Cute décor. Although not all the tables had them, the salt and pepper shakers are shaped like UK phone booths for a nice touch. Our server, Justin, was great! He was friendly & professional. Fun sense of humor, attentive, but not cloying. A great balance. We will be asking for him when we return!

Went for my first visit on a Saturday night. They’ve done a lot of nice work to the place. So different than the place it was before. We sat at the bar for food and drinks. The bar area felt a little cramped with people sitting at the bar and standing near it. I got the onion soup and chicken tenders. The soup was okay. It seemed to be overwhelmed with the breaded topping. The description sounds a lot better than it tastes. The chicken tenders were not good. They had an odd breading that was moist instead of being crispy. A couple who sat across the bar left behind what was pretty much a full plate of them which probably should have been a warning. They’re not served with any dipping sauce either. No one checked in with us after we got our food and the bar was busy so it was impossible to ask for sauce or anything. I had a Newcastle and Boddington which was nice. I was expecting to see some of the same beers that I’ve seen on my trips to England. The plus side is that it’s an affordable place. It can get loud if there’s a band playing.

I’ve been here 3 times since the opening in mid October. –As a restaurant The things I had were all done very well. It’s definitely a step up from standard ‘pub fare’. The first dish I had was the fish and chips and it was exceptional. It beautiful piece of fresh haddock with fantastic batter and cooked perfectly. I’m pretty picky about my fried fish and I find it surprisingly hard to find a place that does it well. I have now. The chips aren’t really authentic Brit style chips but for french fries, they’re well done and seasoned nicely. I also had the Ruben(good, generous with the corned beef) and Drunken Pretzel Burger, which is served with an addictive warm cheese sauce for dipping. Lastly, the beer candied bacon appetizer. If I could have one food for the rest of my life, it would be the beer candied bacon appetizer. The menu is not all that authentically British. The establishment is more of a British theme than a place you’ll find rabbit, mushed peas or Yorkshire pudding, but I consider that to be a good thing. You will find great fish and chips and they have bangers and mash which I plan to make my next meal. –As a beer pub Many beers to choose from, lots of authentic British Ales. My family is from Yorkshire where I get to visit from time to time and have grown fond of the Black Sheep Ale, every British Pub I’ve been to here, I’ve asked for, and never received it until I came here. Which made me very very happy. Service has been good and the bartenders friendly. –As a night spot I come for the food and drinks but keep coming back for the live music. Three different nights, 3 fantastic bands. The sound system is by far the best I’ve experienced around here. The place isn’t huge thus quality sound is a must. The music is loud, but not too loud and most importantly the sound is clean. I’ve left with no ear ringing or listening fatigue despite being close to the stage nearly all of my time there. The nights I’ve been have included a wonderfully diverse crowd. I’ve seen crowds of 20 year olds along folks well into their 60’s there, all having a good time and dancing. If you’re a human being, you should be comfortable at the Queen’s Pub.

The food and service are great. The musical artists performing live are excellent and the sound system being played through are equally as good.

Ugh. I was hoping this new place would be a quality English pub. Nothing doing. Where’s the coddle? The colcannon? Guinness stew? Nope. They don’t even have shepard’s pie. The menu was just unappealing entrees of fish and burgers I can get anywhere on Elm St. The inside of the former Greg’s Place has been completely redone into something that doesn’t resemble an English pub at all, it looks like a fancy North End restaurant. There’s nothing publike about this place from its look or food. The space is to small to have the band set up that they do, what a ridiculous idea in such a small space. I had a headache by the time I left and we couldn’t even hear each other speak. The prices were as much as a place like the Tuckaway Tavern where they specialize in meat, but that place is worth the price, this was just awful. The food was bad and service slow on top. This place doesn’t know what it wants to be and isn’t what it claims to be. What it will be is another empty Elm St. restaurant front in less than a year. There’s no reason to waste your time or money here if you’re in the Queen City, other options abound.

Came up tonight to meet up with some friends — we decided to check out the new place. Fantastic fish and chips(my dinner order). My friends had the pretzel burger, chicken tenders, and pork tenderloin. We also shared the Irish nachos and candied bacon for appetizers. Everything came out hot, looked good, and tasted even better! There were a few tiny hiccups when it came to getting drinks in a timely manner, but that smoothed out as the night went on. For only being open for a few days, things are looking great! Come on by — it’s right across from the Verizon arena, so it’s wicked convenient.

We headed here tonight(opening night) on a whim. Decided to stop and give it a shot after rock climbing and didn’t realize it was the first night. We normally steer clear of opening nights as they are still ironing out the wrinkles. We were sat right away and there was a great cover band playing.(Not sure the name-sorry!) it took a while for our waiter to come over to us, but he was very busy. We ordered drinks and he was able to answer my multiple questions about menu items. I had the Hippie Drink which was delicious and very reasonably priced. My husband had a beer which was also good. For dinner, my husband had the Drunken Pretzel Burger. It was local beef, cheese, two large(amazingly delicious) onion rings and the normal fixins’. It also came with a side of warm cheddar beer sauce and French fries. The fries were nothing special, not memorable but also not bad. The cheese sauce was very good and a big hit! The burger was ordered«medium» as opening nights normally bring undercooked meats, but it was cooked perfectly.(Next time he’ll go for medium rare). The pretzel bun was fresh as were all toppings. I snagged a bite and will definitely return to try another burger. The meat was very well-seasoned and tasted delicious. I had the pork tenderloin entrée. The menu said that it rested on a bed of fried sweet potato. When I clarified what that meant with our waiter, I was told that it was on a bed of fried sweet potatoes; like sweet potato fries. I also chose the steamed broccoli as my additional side. The meal was served and I could immediately tell that the broccoli was grossly overcooked. It was a light green color and had tons of water around it. I ate it and it was the consistency of baby food-super mushy. The«fried sweet potato» was actually cubes of sweet potato that were VERYLIGHTLY roasted(almost just boiled). But, they were not fried, as I had hoped, and was clarified with waiter confirmation, and was listed in the menu. They may want to correct this menu item or change how they serve it. It was a bit of a letdown. But, aside from these two small issues, the pork was amazing! It had a spicy dry rub on it and was cooked perfectly. The only suggestion would be to set a steak knife when this dish is served. It will seem more tender when it is easier to cut through the very thick dry-rubbed skin. Overall, we will definitely be back to try more food. The owner, Nick stopped by to check on us and was very kind. We loved our waiter, as he was very friendly. One other(very small) thing I noticed was that when drink refills were served to the table, the empties were never picked up. Also the empty plates were not picked up when it waiter came to check on us. This small attention to detail will come with practice and time. But, just something to work on. No matter what, we will be back! I would just steer clear of this place on game nights at the Verizon-it will be insane!
