I know Sears isn’t faring too well in the market with all the other department stores and a lot of people seem to hate this place. To be honest, I’ve never really given Sears(or most other department stores) my time of day because I’ve never really had a reason to go. I normally do my shopping at cheaper stores(Marshall’s Target, various thrift stores), because let’s face it, most college students are piss-poor and I’m no exception. But today I went there in search of a swimsuit after the one I had purchased online was a total bust(those websites that are based somewhere in China and sell those cutesy swim suits? DON’T DOIT). Normally I go to Marshall’s to buy my swimwear but after years of realizing that I’m cursed with a small top and bigger bottom, it became apparent I need a two-piece and I know Marshall’s usually doesn’t have that big a selection on two-pieces(at least from what I’ve seen.) Plus, I had shopping to do elsewhere in the mall. I must have tried several different stores(JC Penney, Macy’s, Forever 21, H&M, and some others) before finally going to Sears. I fully admit I walked right in exasperated and skeptical; I figured it would be a repeat of all the other stores: their two-pieces would be way too small to fit me on the bottom(and too big to fit me on top; funny, isn’t it?). But to my surprise I managed to find some nice two-pieces in the Women’s section that were on sale. That particular rack had already been raided but with some trial and error I found the suit I liked and figured out what sizes I needed to get. I asked the nearest associate, Romana, if they had the suit online and she gladly looked it up for me. She told me they did indeed have it online in my size and told me that if I ordered it online right there in the store, the shipping was free and it could be shipped right to my house. I was thrilled! I thanked Romana over and over again; I probably sounded a bit weird but it was actually a RELIEF to find a suit that fit me properly AND came in a style/color that I liked. I guess I’ll update this in the future, after my suit arrives. But for now, my experience here has been a good one and I’ll go back in the future if I ever need another swimsuit, or maybe even just to poke around. I did like a lot of the clothing on display…

Oh Sears there s a reason your sales are in the proverbial shitter. I ordered a split queen box spring(Sleepy’s I still remember your attempt at upsell a few years back) through the online system. I should have realized there was a problem when I didn’t receive an invoice. The only thing I received was an email thanking me for my order and an offer to buy more crap. On the day of delivery I only received 1 of the 2 box springs. Nowhere on the site did it specify 2 pieces or even 1 of 2. The site leads you to believe you are placing an order for the set. Customer service hooked me up by giving me 10% off on the 2d box spring, but sticking me with another delivery charge(basically the cost of the box spring)! Well Sears there is a reason your entire operation is running on fumes and is a shell of what it once was. Now I remember why I haven’t shopped here in 2 decades. See you in the afterlife …

I am not really sure what the point of this place is anymore. It should only be a couple years before they just shut it down. Other than some select tools on discount, you can get better cloths in Macys or JCP and better tools in Home Depot or Lowe’s. If you need wrenches, screw drivers, socket sets this is a decent location to get something on deal but anything else there really is no point. Sales people in appliances are very pushy. We have looked a couple of times at fridges and water heaters, we were really just looking to look but that message didn’t really make it into the brain of the people that we talked to.

Horrible customer service, and don’t even bother with warranty! We have a hot water heater with a nine year warranty, at eight years it develops a crazy leak, and for an emergency call it will be over a week until they can come service it! And there is a fee of about $ 100 for them to come out! But I could buy a new hot water Hester and they can install it same day!!! Ridiculous, and we will never purr chase from Sears again.

I usually only shop(or browse) at this Sears when I am on my way into the Mall itself. The salespeople can be rather pushy, especially in the appliance department. This particular Sears is usually very clean and well laid out, but with the holiday season, it’s currently a mess and crammed in with merchandise.

We bought some tires here a few weeks ago. Really, really, really wish I hadn’t. After a week our car started making noises. When we brought our car back to make sure one of the tires belts hadn’t broken and to rotate them, the salesman came out and immediately he and the mechanic started in with the hard sell. They insisted our rotors, which had literally JUST been machined, needed to be redone. Then it was a bearing, then a strut. They basically went through a list of things they could have sold me and if we had recently addressed an issue they had named then they started in with the«well you didn’t get that done here, right?». We only wanted them to check and rotate our tires but it ended up being a whole fiasco of sales pitches and accusations. You can absolutely tell that these guys make commission and you WILL be subjected to the seedy underhandedness that accompanies these kinds of arrangements. After waiting for an hour and a half and fighting off the salespeople, they come out and tell us they couldn’t rotate one tire because the lug nut was stuck. Apparently, the salesmechanic has a difficult time using an airgun because the next day our front drivers side tire was dangerously loose. I checked the«stuck lug nut» and had absolutely no problem removing it. Further, when we returned the next day because our car is making a much louder noise after they messed with it, the other manager insisted our rotors were fine and that the noise was something else entirely. Now I don’t know who to trust, but they definitely don’t work at Sears.
