This review is based off my one and only visit. For me: 2,2,2 which is two eggs, two French toast(or pancakes), two sausage(or bacon), and home fries for $ 8.25. The eggs were cooked over-hard as requested. The French toast wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t anything to rave about. I don’t think any seasoning was used at all. Same with the home fries– plain with no seasoning. I was very disappointed by the home fries because it was the main reason for the visit. For my son: 2 eggs scrambled, home fries, cinnamon toast($ 4.50) and a side order of bacon($ 3.00). Eggs and home fries had zero flavor. The toast was a little on the burnt side. Something I don’t mind, but he certainly did. He also wasn’t pleased with there being raisins in his cinnamon toast with no mention of it at ordering or on the menu. Bacon was great –crispy, but not burnt. Service was okay. We stood at the door not knowing if we should seat ourselves or wait. The waitress seemed to notice us come in, but no acknowledgement was ever made. We sat ourselves and waited too long to be approached for the limited amount of customers. The waitress wasn’t very friendly… except to people who appeared to be regulars. The food came out fairly quickly. The prices were reasonable.

Food was pretty bad. Service was fine. Only thing I liked about the place was it had the classic cloudy air when I walked in.

To keep this brief… AMAZING food and CHEAP. Definitely make this a part of each week. I’ve decided to go every Sunday for breakfast. $ 2 pancakes and tons of options for sides. The home fries are to die for. If you want a quick, diner setting to make your breakfast memorable and satisfying, go here! 5 stars 100%

The food is really good. The coffee was weak. Overall, the place is quiet and good to have a conversation at. Prices are good. I would recommend this place

I wish I would’ve read the reviews before going, but I guess I gave it a chance. I don’t think breakfast food is really that difficult, but the food here was nothing special. Your typical breakfast items. I got the 2×2×2 which was eggs, bacon and French toast. I could’ve made better French toast at home and the coffee was terrible. Main reason for my bad rating aside from the food being subpar was the service. Our waitress seemed mad at the world first thing on a Saturday morning. For a place that makes it by serving only breakfast and lunch, I’d expect better.

The food was so-so. The Philly cheesesteak omelet wasn’t terrible but the home fries are all frozen and then just deep fried with little to no flavor. The actual restaurant is pretty run down and it needs a drastic upgrade. You could literally hear a pin drop in this place. Was pretty disappointed overall :/. I really wanted to like this place but the quality just wasn’t there. Many better options within a 1 mile radius

Heard about this place from a Manchester native. It was a quaint little spot. A small menu for breakfast, but good for basic breakfast stuff and great prices. I’m sure I’ll go back again.

Just, nope. I stopped into Sunny Side Up with two friends from out of town, thinking we’d have a nice diner breakfast while spending time together. Man, was I wrong. It’s really a toss up to choose between which was worse: The waitresses who acted intensely annoyed at our very presence, or the home fries who had spent too much time in the oil and lost all flavor or evidence of ever being a potato. We all ordered eggs, home fries, and toast. The eggs were either scrambled or poached, and were lovely both ways. The toast was toast. Nothing to write home about. But man, those potatoes were so very, very sad. Diner food isn’t difficult folks. I regularly make better home fries in my own kitchen, and, between the quality of food and the server’s inability to muster up a single smile, it looks like that’s where I’ll be enjoying breakfast until Main St. can pull it together on the service and home fry front(I’m looking at you too, Landmark).

I really wanted to try this local spot however when I entered sat without being greeted looked at the menu and read a chapter of my book I still had not been seen. I hope it’s not a color thing but two couples came in when I was getting ready to leave and two waitresses jumped to help them. Can’t support this kind of local.

Great cheap eats, I said cheap eats. Very low key place. Good service, nice owner, inexpensive food. What more can ask for. The food is fresh, tasty, and the place has GREAT coffee.

Everything is just standard and blah. I got the steak, 2 eggs, home fries and toast. Everything was cooked to order, but there wasn’t really that much flavor. There are better places around Manchester, so spend your money elsewhere.

Hey maybe two stars is a little harsh but these lack luster venues are just the type of places that can have great potential. However I don’t think the food is much better than average and for the price I’d just go to a diner. I got a philly steak omelet and it was good but lacked in size perhaps only a 2 egg. Home fries ahh well oh hum standard. I witnessed a to go order while I was there for bacon egg and cheese, the guy ask of an extra egg his bill was over 5 bucks I mean for real there are a whole host of places you can get 2 egg sandwich with meat for under 4 any day.

This place is great for breakfast for the price you pay. I do not understand what other reviewers are complaining about. I have been here twice and the food has been pretty good and comes out fast. So far I have had the Philly Cheese Steak Omelet and the Hash Omelet. Both were delicious and come with hot home fries and toast. The coffee also tastes slightly better than your average diner coffee. I also like how you can order pancakes and french toast by the slice. If you don’t eat much, then you don’t need to order a lot and worry about saving the rest for leftovers, because, come on, no one wants to take home leftover pancakes or french toast; you want to eat it all right there! I’ve also noticed that the service is really dependent on when you go. The service was a slow on the Sunday that we went. My second visit was on a Friday and the service was much better and a LOT more personal. Nevertheless, the food always comes out quickly. We were also able to sit down right away on both occasions and the check comes quickly. The waitresses are always making sure you are being taken care of, and since the entire diner is one small place, except the kitchen, you can always find your waitress when you need them. I am only giving 4 stars, because the place has a slightly dirty feel and I did find a hair in my omelet on our first visit. The place could definitely be kept slightly cleaner, but for good food that won’t leave a hole in your wallet, this is the place to be!

Cheap. Good. It’s full of crotchety old locals, and as I’m rapidly turning into a crotchety old local myself, I feel at home there. The dingy décor and bare-bones menu keep out the younger, hipper crowd, which is a plus. This is a great place to drink coffee, read the paper, and complain about how the world is doomed. Also, customers have to work through the kitchen to use the bathroom, so it probably keeps the cooks on their toes sanitation-wise.

I’m giving this place 5 stars because I’m local. I can walk to Main Street and have tried all half-dozen or so little breakfast places. I keep going back to Sunny Side. Why? The food is basic, decent, and hot. The prices are reasonable. The waitstaff are friendly. You will see a lot of regulars at this place. If you don’t need pretentious décor and over the top prices(and sometimes I like those types of place) and you want your coffee mug kept full and pleasant conversation with the waitstaff and your fellow breakfasters, this is the place to go.

Eh… Came here once because my companion and I ventured to the Cosmic Omelet only to find that it was closed for summer vacation. It’s sort of a dingy, creepy looking place so I was a bit hesitant. Plus, I’m a snob when it comes to diners because frequenting diners in NJ(where diners are huge) has turned me into a diner snob. Anyway, I had pancakes(because I was craving them and there was a special with pancakes) while my companion had typical breakfast fare(some kind of platter with bacon and eggs and sausage). The food was relatively cheap and edible, but the ambiance and the quality of the plates and silverware and cups(all scratched up) sort of ruined the mood a bit. The waitress was nice and attentive but sort of harried, probably by the sheer number of the customers she had to tend to.

Straightforward and cheap diner food with friendly college wait-staff. I thought it was great for what it was trying to be.

Food is cheap and good. A friend used to love stopping here on the way to work, and finally showed me why several months later. It’s a little run down, but hey, when you’re all squinty-eyed in the morning, who cares about all that glitz. The crowd is mostly locals. This place can also get pretty busy, probably because of the low prices. Food: Traditional breakfast food, good in my experience. Service: Service was good from what I remember. Price: VERY reasonable. Insider Info: Small store front, but the sign is bright yellow, you can’t miss it!
