If you order a salad, don’t add the optional salmon, chicken, or any other meat – it’s either re-heated multiple times after other people didn’t eat it, or it’s boiled, then microwaved, and then smashed underfoot to be sure it’s completely dried out and flavorless. I have never, ever been served such a dessicated, inedible piece of meat. I left it on my plate after two bites and told the waitress but the extra charge for it was left on my bill. We will not be back. Oh, and the beer and wine are overpriced.

I have liked this place a lot for a couple years but tonight it was horrible. Our food took 45 mins to arrive and when it did the veggie burger was disgusting. When the waitress asked if we wanted to. Take the other half home we said no. It was gross. She took the half to the kitchen but came back and offered us a free dessert but didn’t take it off the bill. Very not happy

Happened to be passing by and decided to stop in for a bite. I had a cheeseburger and it was better than expected in this pub type atmosphere. Burger was made with high quality ingredients and prepared very well. I was very surprised as I expected this to be a basic bar but the food was very good. Worth a shot if you’re in the area. The burgers are awesome.

Great pretzel app. Great burger! The French dip was very ehhh. The meat on it was like warm at best and it was pretty tasteless as well as the aus jus. Needed more seasoning and definitely offer some horseradish or something. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would have given more stars if the sandwich had been better. Would probably go back and maybe try something different.

Traveling through town on business and stopped inro the Main Pub. The bartender Jay was a jolly guy who set me up with a delicious IPA off the long beer list. I had the Scillian sausage soup delicious hearty and almost a meal in its self. I moved on to a generous portion of Meatloaf, mashed, gravy and veggies all very tasty. Great Pub grub at a fair price. Nice crowd for a winter Monday night. I will be back next time when in town.

Great atmosphere, awesome beer list that changes frequently, the mixed drinks are consistently great(never too weak or too strong, always just right) AMAZING food. We’ve been here twice, first time we had great food and great drinks but our waitress couldn’t have cared less about us… second time everything was amazing although onion rings could have been crispier and they put coleslaw on my boyfriend’s burger when he asked for no coleslaw… however he easily picked it off and said his burger was SOGOOD that he didn’t even care, and that it was even better than one of our favorite local burger places. The Sicilian sausage soup was absolutely amazing and the Mac and cheese is also to die for… we will definitely be back!

So far, so good. I’ve been here on several occasions and despite a lot of Unilocal reviews that mention issues with staff, I’ve never seen any of that. We typically sit at the bar and have had nothing but great service. Almost everything we’ve ordered has been very good with the exception of some dry run garlic wings I had once(dry, overcooked and super garlicky). The drunken mussell app is amazing and enormous and the pub fries are delish. They have a large/interesting beer selection, too. My only complaint would be this: the bartenders and servers seem to have never been taught that you don’t pick up dirty glasses by the rim — ever. Seeing the bartenders doing that and then grabbing garnishes for drinks is such a turn off! Rim = germs, then you’re spreading germs from other patrons to my drink. No bueno.

On a Monday night, while every other restaurant /bar closes down by 9 or 10 pm in CT, this place still had their kitchen open for delicious food. The bar tender was courteous and prompt with service. The atmosphere of the bar had holiday cheer. I recommend the chicken chop salad with a nice cold beer. Their clam strips basket appetizer was delicious and very generous. I recommend this place and their $ 4 dollar Monday night draft beers.

The Main Pub is not a bad place at all to get together with friends. It has a great-looking atmosphere, a genuinely nice staff, and an expansive selection of beers(but no option for a flight, from what I am aware… boo…). Know, though, that the place can get pretty crowded, which may pose an annoyance when it comes to finding parking or outside seating. The service can also be very slow if you come in a big group and you don’t call ahead of time. I haven’t tried too much of their food, but I can say that their nachos come loaded(and I mean LOADED) with jalapeños, which is good if you love them but very very bad if you don’t. Prices aren’t bad but also aren’t easy on the wallet. I hear karaōke is fun. I’m sure my friends will find a way to drag me out to try it sometime. Overall, I’d go to The Main Pub again, but it didn’t impress me significantly.

Having grown up in Manchester, I have driven past the Main Pub thousands of times but am honestly not sure that I’ve ever actually eaten here! We sat in the bar area tonight — great casual atmosphere, super friendly staff and a huge beer list. They have a great list of weekly events including trivia and live music as well! I ordered the chopped salad which was great. Perfect size for a light dinner. We also shared nachos for an appetizer — since it was happy hour they were only $ 6! Can’t beat that. I’m glad that I finally stopped by and will definitely be back.

It has been a while since we last visited and I’m glad we stopped in. The waitress said the menu was revamped about six months ago and there were a lot of appealing items! I had trouble deciding on what I wanted to order. I landed on a carrot and ginger soup(a special) which was delicious and ordered the roasted pear salad with grilled chicken. It was absolutely delicious! It could have used a little more goat cheese(but I’m a big fan of goat cheese). Hubby got the clam chowder and the bolognese(another special) and also really enjoyed it. Looks like we’ll need to go back to try something from the smoker and off the burger menu!

Was there yesterday for the trivia night. The trivia session was conducted really well and the questions were amazing. Food — I am a veggie and the selection was limited. I chose the smoked veggie burger with fries on the side and we had a Nacho platter with chilli. The chilli was bloody good. The burger was good but the nachos and Chilli — Awesome. My friends order a plate of wings with Long island ice tea and they had multiple servings of both and swore that it was very good too. Service — The place was pretty packed but service was very prompt and the waitress was very pleasant. If you are around Manchester or Hartford. Definitely worth a try. I am going back again.

This isn’t your normal dive type location. They’re a lot more organized and established. I never visit when the live music is going on but I hear it’s pretty good also with some of the bands/musicians they have from time to time. It’s a solid place to eat. Above average bar food from here. I have yet to have a bad experience. The location is pretty cool and who doesn’t like free Wi-Fi? The food always comes out quick even though sometimes the waitresses take a while to get to you. They’ve got half-price appetizers between 2 and 4PM. And all of the appetizers are great! Best deal ever for lunch. For dinner they’re pretty good too but I wish their portion sizes were a bit larger. I would recommend visiting this place. I gave them three stars but really it’s more like a 3.5. What can I say, I’m a tough critic. ;)

First opened in 1980, the recent renovations in 2012 has certainly spruced things up. Renovated and expanded kitchen facilities definitely improved the quality of food and shortened the ordering process from years past. An updated menu has such classics like prime rib and french dip sandwich, slow-cooked pulled pork, ribs and beef brisket. The 9oz angus burger is a good sized portion. I generally don’t eat when I’m here though, but personally I’m a fan of their Main Pub wings, both the dry rub and wet are pretty good. With close to 2 dozen draught lines, Main Pub has one of the larger beer selections in the area. Whether you’re thirsty for a familiar domestic beer or a locally brewed beverage, The Main Pub has a good selection of rotating brews. During the week, Main Pub runs happy hour from 3−6pm where drinks are $ 1 off and all appetizers are $ 5. The biggest draw for me however are their live music and events. Seems like there’s something every night of the week. On Sunday evenings, it’s local bluegrass and karaōke; Tuesday evenings it’s acoustic songwriters; Wednesday’s it’s open mics; Thursday’s it’s trivia; and on Friday and Saturday’s it’s live music. Cover charge on the weekends is typical, and prices vary on the band — but are generally $ 7 – 10. Parking is limited to the small lot to the rear of the building or on Main Street.

I came here for a Meetup group, and I was really impressed that the bar could accommodate a ~20 person party on a Saturday night. The waitress was very adept at dealing with a large group as well, though it was at times difficult to get her attention despite the bar not being very full.(Maybe they were under staffed for the night?) I liked the chill vibe here — neighborhood-y but keeping it fresh. The beer list was impressive and was displayed on a large, rotating, electric board. They had some really get options for the winter. Parking is a bit rough here. I just parked on Main Street and pulled over as close to the sidewalk as possible.

I’m sorry, but the waitstaff is amazing the food is fresh and delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend the fried pickles… Mmmmtmmmm doll, they are scrumtrulescent! The bar keep even knew what a Bushmill Press was, very impressed. The band on this night is a little loud as they sing but the beat is funky and encourages me to get down. I don’t get down often but as long as they’re not signing I’ll grind it out, I’ll grind straight down to funky town. There is a beer list here that’ll impress the masses as well, especially the beer aficionado. My one request… Chimay Blue… Regards and happy dining, Mr. Fish

Last evening I joined a small group of friends at The Main Pub to see a great band who was in town. My gentleman counterpart and I arrived after the other two couples, who were sitting at a table. On our way to the bar to grab drinks, our soon-to-be server, Jessica, informed us that if we wanted to sit at the table with them, we’d have to order drinks from her. We both felt like we were being scolded immediately. So began our night of sassy service. After telling our table what we had just been ordered to do, they told us that she had also been quite unfriendly to them as well. Considering we were a table of laid-back couples, ordering non-fussy drinks, with one pregnant lady in tow, and not a bunch of drunk jerks, you’d think our server could muster up the decency to not be blatantly rude. But alas, she could not. When we were getting ready to leave, we told her we were all set, and fifteen minutes later I had to get up and hunt her down to get our check, after she avoided my eye contact and physically walked away from me twice when I tried to approach her. When I told her we had been waiting a long time for our check, she told me we never told her we were done, and literally leaned into my face and yelled«JUSTBECAUSEYOUSAYYOUAREALLSET, DOESN’T MEANYOUAREDONE.» She did this in front of the bartender and one of the cooks. I was completely appalled. Once she got the check, she rushed over to where my date was sitting, and whilst leaning all over him, apologized for the delay. Not surprising considering he was the only person in our group she paid attention to the entire evening. I’m sorry Main Pub, no matter how good your food and drinks are, I simply cannot patronize an establishment where servers are allowed to treat customers so incredibly poorly.

This place is great for late night. I was not impressed when I visited the Main Pub earlier for lunch but I’ve since come back at night and have loved the place. Their selection on tap is amazing and they have everything under the sun. They also have a wide array of events, everything from Sunday night folk night, to trivia Thursdays. The buffalo wings are very good and they have a number of different options for flavors. From people I’ve talked to the soups are also supposedly amazing. I was underwhelmed by Main Pub at lunchtime, but I was blown away by it at night. Great little place that is typically only about half full.
