I have been wanting to go here for over a year, and I finally got my chance today! This is one of the cutest restaurants, much less diners, I have ever been in. It reminds me of the beach and of a girl version of a Jimmy Buffet restaurant. I do know that his sister actually does have a restaurant, but I haven’t been there. I imagine it would kind of look like this place though. Anyway, the food was delicious! I stuck with breakfast and ordered the pork benidict and a chicken benidict(you can mix and match) which comes with either grits or spuds(I chose spuds). The sauce on the pork, the flavors, the chicken! Everything was just so good. My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken and waffles which came with 2 eggs. He couldn’t get over how good the chicken was. He also ordered a side of bacon which was very tasty. This place is affordable(although not cheap) and every bit worth the money!

Excellent– I have never had anything here that wasn’t WONDERFUL! This is a «must go» when I am visiting family in Covington/Abita Springs. I loved the debris(roast beef) with biscuits, but my favorite is the grilled cheese with… drum roll — crab meat! It is so wonderful. it has red peppers, and small pieces of asparagus on it as well. It is simply wonderful with lay potato chips on the side! My mother ordered carb meat au gratin and said it is one of the best she has ever had! she said the plate was ALL crab meat! it is VERY rich and creamy. My Dad ordered a pulled pork sandwich and said he would absolutely order it again — he considers himself a barbeque exert! I suggest you get there as close to 11 as possible — it does get pretty loud and very busy by 12 noon. My only complaint is that the both times I ordered the carb meat grilled cheese it took well over 20 minutes — but worth the wait!

Loved Liz’s — had a fried green tomato salad that was just excellent.

Food and service was very good… A little unsure when you pull up, not sure if it is shady. But it is a true greasy spoon with great food and service.

Liz’s is possibly the best place for breakfast and brunch in Mandeville. I highly recommend the debris Benedict, filet Benedict, and the grits and grillades. However, everything there is delicious. I’ve never left there disappointed.

Almost a 5 star for me! 4.6. You definitely want the debris on whatever! Had the Benedict half debris and half big easy. Both were awesome! Also ordered the crab grilled cheese again awesome. Just could use less cream cheese and more actual cheese consistency. It was like mayo on the inside which is less appealing. Still it was damn good. The bread had that classic grilled cheese butter taste. Wish it was more contained inside as it kept falling out. The gf had the grillades and grits. Not so good. It just lacked in flavor. And the cheese grits and regular grits are ok. But the debris will make Anythin taste better! Haha nice staff too. Key lime pie was also great. Homemade desserts yum. Would definitely go here again. Little pricey but really good food.

This place is where Southern Hospitality has come to live! You need to high five Liz on the way in, and hug her on the way out. She knows what she is doing with some food! I sat at the counter with Sara(h), sorry if it’s spelled wrong, and let her decide on my lunch. She brought me the BBQ Shrimp Po’ Boy, and a side of Fried Green Tomatoes with remoulade. That sandwich was hands down one of the tastiest things I’ve eaten. Period. The shrimp was cooked to perfection, and clearly tasted as fresh as it was. The sauce mixes with the bread, and creates a bread bowl type situation. I loved my experience here, and will most assuredly be back. Keep on keepin’ on Liz!

Exceptional every time in every way. Liz and the staff make you feel so at home. She knows pretty much every patron by name! The food is an unbelievable treat. A fusion of comfort originals with a gourmet flair. Best food on the North Shore… hands down

We ate here for a late breakfast. I got some type of Eggs Benedict– it was wild! It had green onions, crab meat, all kinds of yummy stuff piled on top! The wait staff is very cool, very relaxed atmosphere. They have 80s music playing — I thoroughly embarrassed my daughter by singing to every song… I mean, who doesn’t like the song Tainted Love?! She covered her face with a napkin… Anyways, very casual and fun atmosphere

The best ham and cheese scramble I have ever eaten! Sooo delicious! Biscuits are great too, butter and toasted in the griddle. Great and friendly staff.

Can’t say enough good about this place. The choices of Benedicts are amazing. Crab cakes, creamed spinach, petite filet… awesome. Today’s new item for us was King Cake cheesecake. Delicious! This is a regular stop for us for breakfast.

I saw that some of my fellow Elite friends ventured over here so I followed the crowd and went to Liz’s Where Y’at Diner to get some burgers with the family. The wait was about 20 minutes and since there wasn’t really anywhere to stand or sit outside to wait, we sat in our car. Once we were called(around 1230, they close at 2) we sat down and looked at the menu. Man! that menu is huge. All three of us were almost swayed to order brunch, but we stuck to our guns and each ordered a hamburger. Mom got the Blue Cheese Burger with sweet potatoes fries. Ally got Mikey Burger with sweet potato fries. I got the Southwest Burger with regular fries. All the hamburgers were delicious, however, mine came out about 5 minutes later than Mom and Ally’s. The sweet potato fries are better than the regular fries(they seemed to be over cooked). My only complaint with this place is that my hamburger came out 5 minutes later than the rest of the table, and while it was obvious I was still eating(hello I was 5 minutes behind everyone else) TWO waitresses offered to take my hamburger away to wrap it up. I told them, do not worry, I will hurry up and finish eating. I mean — everyone knows that hamburgers are not good as left overs! I really didn’t like how pushy they were to get us out of our seats, but I do want to go back and try the breakfast.

Great little restaurant on the Northshore. This enthusiastic rating is for lunch. I tried the shrimp remoulade po-boy with fried green tomatoes and boiled shrimp. My host ordered the crabmeat remoulade stack and the crabmeat grilled cheese. He insisted I eat half the grilled cheese and I tried a bite of the remoulade. He says that he has had fresher crab here but I couldn’t tell. It was all delicious. I also had a side of their terrific potato salad. My po-boy was not huge but is definitely enough for lunch with the potato salad. The shrimp were tender and I liked the sauce. The salad is your classic Louisiana mustard style. They serve Louisiana hot sauce and I thought the po-boy definitely needed a dash and was perfect thereafter. The service is very good. It’s really busy there and I guess on weekends I am told it’s really packed and hard to get a table. I can’t wait to come back and try more. Maybe breakfast next time!

Wow, what a great experience! It is a bit crowded but well worth the short wait and small table. The food was fresh and innovated. Liz is walking around and chatting with each table to ensure everyone is happy. The waitresses are all happy to help and sweet as pie and easy on the eyes! The food is tremendous! From a classic egg and bacon breakfast to the eggs benedict covered in a lump crab meat it was all great, fresh and served in a timely manner. If I had this place close to my home I would weigh 500 lbs. Thanks Liz for the hard work and delisiious food!

This is the best brunch spot on the Northshore and the service is extremely friendly while Liz is usually here taking care of things and also makes a point to say hello while making sure you’re happy. I’m not a big breakfast person but I do like a few brunch items. The grillades here are not the spicy veal style that I’m used to in New Orleans and they seem to just be regular pot roast so that’s not something I would put at the top of my list here(the pot roast is great but its just not the same as spicy NOLA veal grillades to me that I love). The burger is ok but there are definitely better burgers to be had in NOLA. So I would suggest sticking to the other items on the menu and the breakfast items probably outshine many of the lunch offerings. Tips: This restaurant is very popular and gets very crowded which the limited parking doesn’t always accommodate well and the kooky drivers will sometimes park in ways that make it difficult to get out of the place. They close and lock the door at exactly 2:00PM daily. I prefer sitting at the bar rather than the madhouse of the crowds around the tables.

We were traveling to Houston Tx early in the morning and we seriously hungry. We had options to stop @ a food chain breakfast spot but we decided to go to a mom and pop joint. As we arrived the location was easy to find with its bright colors. Parking was a bit tight. Good thing we were there early because not even 10 mins later the restaurant was packed and eventually people were waiting to get in! It was a very quaint restaurant. Waiter weren’t to personal. They knew that they needed to get everyone in and out. Amazing and very creative menu with full of choices. My girlfriend order a scrambler. All of the ingredients were fresh and very tasty! I order the half and half Benedict’s for only a $ 1 up charge to get half and half. Presentation we excellent! Eggs were poached perfectly. Cheese grits was the best I ever had but they were a little cold. We could tell that the bacon was homemade. Nice and thick well done smokey bacon! Our experience with the food was excellent but service wasn’t as much. We weren’t there for the service anyways. We will defiantly return back for bunch! I highly suggest trying this gem out!

Stopped by after a weekend in NOLA! The best decision we had all weekend. Tried: Banana Foster Waffle: Probably the BEST waffle I’ve ever had in my life. Came with caramelized bananas, powdered sugar and whipped cream. It tasted like I was eating banana foster ice cream– it was that rich. I could only eat half, BF ate the rest. I would drive back to Mandeville just for this waffle. Eggs: scrambled. Pretty good The Grand Slam scrambler: BF ate this– came with eggs, cheese, hot sausage. Awesome flavors and a pretty good amount. Came with a biscuit(which he dipped in my syrup banana foster mix and grits which were very good! We sat at the bar– service was great and the girls were very friendly and knowledge-able. Overall, my favorite place for breakfast– and reasonable priced :-)

Where Y’at? If you’re not at Liz“s, you should be. This diner is so very awesome. It’s eclectic and laid back. If you love a great brunch(like moi) then get ready. The food is the best on the Northshore. Picture this… black and white tile floors, old time Nola faves on the speakers, seriously cool art on the walls and then there’s Liz. A tiny lady with a huge personality. She introduced herself to me and took my order. I am an eggs Benedict addict so imagine my surprise and delight when I was informed I could mix and match the«benny platters». Yes. Very much yes. I chose the Debris Benedict and the crabby Benedict. That crabby one was good, no doubt. The roast beef debris one had me whimpering for my mommy y’all. OMG. Get that please. You’ll cry it’s so dang good. I’m still thinking about it three days later. Shredded roast beef atop a homemade biscuit topped with grilled onions, poached eggs and hollandaise? Where in the heck has that been all my life? Go. Now. You will not be sorry.
