Finders Keep Hers

So sorry to have to write something negative, especially since this is apparently the first Unilocal review for a local business. I always wish our local merchants well, but when someone fails to conduct themselves appropriately, I think others should know about it.
I spoke to the owner, Cathy, on the phone on Saturday, March 6^th to learn about the store’s protocols, as I wanted to consign some better-​quality clothing and designer handbags. After our conversation, I decided to go there the next Tuesday after the store opened at 11:00 a.m. and drop off a number of articles. I was not offered a set appointment and told just to arrive during business hours, and that’s what I did.
Finding parking in the area is a real challenge, as anyone who frequents the area knows. After driving around for a while I was able to find a 24-​minute spot across the street. I carted my prospects across the street only to discover that the store was closed. It was 11:37 a.m.
I called twice and left my phone number so that perhaps we could make alternative arrangements, but I never received the courtesy of a return call.
I know that «stuff happens» and understood that perhaps something had come up unexpectedly, but I certainly thought that the owner would call me back to explain things. It’s been nearly 2 weeks and not a word. I wound up donating most of the stuff to charity. Someone over at Goodwill is smiling big time.
I’m posting this in the hopes that the owner will realize that it’s important to be respectful of her customers. Just having the decency to call me afterwards and explain why the store wasn’t open would have made a world of difference.
