Please buy the Starbucks next door, knock it down, and expand so maybe we won’t have to wait hours in line for some of the best food in Manhattan Beach! Burgers to die for, amazing beer selection, huge salads. What else do you want? A gorgeous view of the ocean?

Simmy was ratted high in Unilocal and the guy across the street said it was good; ya just some guy across the street. Very busy and a little on the small side but was worth it. Really good food, nice beer selection and great staff. What else could you want?

This place has an almost New York atmosphere; the place is tiny, loud, and super packed. The shrimp ceviche comes with a generous portion of avocado on top. If you don’t mind the wait, this is a fun spot to hit up after a day at the beach. The reason I gave less stars was the hosting staff. We checked in with him three separate times and he told us it would be a 10 – 15 minute wait each time. The wait ended being at least an hour. He seemed pretty clueless, but the wait staff was very prompt and polite. Overall and nice casual joint to visit.

Great food and great scene! I love that Simmzy’s has an outdoor dining area. It is a great spot to enjoy a beautiful day. The food is excellent. We got burgers and they were perfectly cooked and loaded with delicious toppings. My favorite thing we tried was the Ahi Poke with fried rice balls. It is a definite must.

DELICIOUS starters, A-OK burgers & sandwiches Starters: 1. 15 Minute Wings($ 11.75): spicy & sweet with homemade blue 2. Blue Cheese Haystack($ 7.25): shoestring fries topped with Bleu cheese dressing, garlic, and a touch of spicy sauce — our party of 3 ate one while we were waiting for a seat and also ended up ordering another one with our meal. SOGOOD! * saw someone order the«Grilled Street Corn.» Looked really good but we weren’t down to pay $ 9.50 for«street» corn Burgers & Sandwiches: Tried the«Sammy on Rye» and«Grilled Chicken Sandwich.» They were both all right. Not amazing but not disappointing either. Just A-ok.

Well. I’m an older customer. And I sat for around 15 min before even being spoken to. Finally the host asked me if I’d been helped. I said no. He put my order in .then the smiling waitress appeared giving me nothing but smiles. She got a minimum tip. Older people get ignored there apparently. food was good. I was there with another party the night before, with my daughter and young man and was waited on quickly

Wow nice spot! Came here on my day off with my coworkers. Nice spot. Small, but nice. We shared the appetizers which consisted of jalapeño poppers, wings, and fried rice balls. All of them were great. I also had a sangria which started out white but later changed to red with the fruit punch that www added. I had their burger and it was cooked great. The only thing I discovered which I wish I had known was you could have gotten it on a salad. Yeah I’m trying to watch my figure. It came with bacon too. Pretty good stuff! I’d come back be check them out again!

Loved this place! Met a friend for lunch while staying near LAX. Shuttle avail from hotels to Manhattan Beach for $ 5 round trip, great way to see the beach, shops and restaurants. Cute little restaurant w/nice outdoor seating along the sidewalk. The grilled shrimp salad was amazing! Wish I’d gone there both days for lunch! May need to go early to get a table or wait, they’re delish and popular!

The two menu items that I always come back for: the mimosas and the sweet potato fries(and the simmzy burger). Mimosas are always tasty and effective. Burger is always perfectly done. It’s typically busy during peak brunch and dinner hours so expect a potentially long wait and slower service.

I love the open air set up and atmosphere. Coming from the Midwest, this place was a great find. The wings a very big, super juicy(they may be falsely plumped), but have fabulous flavor. They are breaded with a homemade blue cheese sauce on the side. Wonderful beer selection. I happened to stumble upon them with a keg of Pliny the Elder

If your in the area to grab a quick /long bite im sure this would be a great spot For the most part I expected the service to be good but it took them maybe 15 minutes to even bring water We came in with 6 ppl and you would imagine they would accommodate fairly but they just didn’t seem to care Maybe I went in on a bad day but earlier I was at another bar/restaurant right next to it called Whalers or Valers beach front They was so crowed with a dJ and u could tell it was a shit show way too many ppl packed in one little up stairs area but the waitresses came through the ppl and took our orders and checked up on us so many times it wasn’t even comparable to the whole sit down order dinner at Simmzys or Skimpies or whatever To think a sit down restaurant couldn’t take care of 6 guys was pretty embarrassing But for the most part the food was good can’t complain the chefs didn’t a good job dishing out the burgers and the ceviche was good too would def recommend it

Menu Issues: Came to Simmzy after seeing a photo on Unilocal of their pizza rolls. Came in asking for them,(they don’t have them anymore as the picture was taken two years ago) I looked at what else I wanted, asked for their Pork Chile Verde Burrito,(server said it’s only sold on weekends, I didn’t read the fine print on that) ended up ordering their $ 12.50 bacon burger. $ 3.50 more if you want it with fries. Asked for water as soda prices were not listed on the menu. Tax added $ 1.13 Tip was $ 3.00, bringing the total for a average burger with no fries and no drink to $ 16.63. The burger was fine, but I could have just stayed at my hotel and gotten one 30% off with my airline discount.

Bloody Mary Breakfast + good people = the start of a good day happy Saturday’s with some of the best people watching and pork chile verde burrito yum! We like to come earlier when it’s not as crowded and the early morning crisp is in the air. Good vibes and right smack in the idle of the action.

Review 25⁄365 So it’s been about 2 months since I’ve moved to the South Bay and I’m just now starting to explore the Manhattan Beach area… and I love it! I came out here w/some friends for brunch last Sunday. It’s a cute little cozy restaurant(btw, I’m surprised by how small restaurants are in this area), and there was no wait! My friends all had some drinks, which they enjoyed… I think they had a champagne mimosa? I don’t remember, it’s been a while. The service was good, sweet potato fries were decent, and the scrambles were good, but you should ask for salsa on the side or else it’s a bit dry. All in all, the place was okay, I liked it… it had a good vibe to it, but it’s more one of those places I’ll consider checking out if I’m wandering the streets of downtown Manhattan Beach. But then again, there’s so many great restaurants in the area, so who knows when i’ll be back again.

Went here on a Saturday night. Place was packed and it was about a 30 — 45 minute wait. We ordered the 15 minute wings, blue cheese haystack and fish tacos. The wings were delish. Nothing mind-blowing but I can see how people can easily get addicted to it. The blue cheese haystack were good. Fish tacos were bleh. I woudn’t order that again. Good number of beer selection on tap(10+) including locals Beachwood & Golden road. I will probably revisit on a weekday when its not as crowded.

Very Good place to come if you are looking for a great easy place in M. Beach. You can get a great burger with an ocean view. What can be better than that! It was very busy when I went in there, but the service moved things quickly. I got the burger which was moist and delicious and I would highly recommend it. Everything that came out of the kitchen(which I sat near) looked amazing and smelled better. Next time I am in town, I will be stopping back and trying the haystack fries. They looked amazing!

I was there last Wednesday with a friend of mine who came from out of the country. I am not the greatest in speaking English and neither is my friend. My friend asked one too many questions to the waiter because she wanted to know more about the food that she would be ordering. Nonetheless, we ordered two different salads, but when the food came out we noticed that it was the same salad, just divided into two different plates. SO we asked the same waiter why we were getting only one of the salads we ordered, and he said that he assumed that because asians share their food, they just gave us the same order, just in two different plates. As he was talking to us, he kept on looking back to his friend, another waiter, and started on smirking and laughing. How ridiculous is that?! We had made sure to make two different orders and they conveniently just ignored our orders and just brought out one, because he assumed that we would share. The salad was good but by that point, I was disgusted by the service and wanted to leave.

Went here on a Saturday night… It’s packed and obviously the spot to be. We had a party of 15, and had to wait awhile to get a table to accommodate so many. However, let me tell you… WELLWORTHTHEWAIT! The Simmzy’s burger was delicious with an angus beef patty, chow chow onions, melted cheddar, garlic aioli, lettuce, and sliced tomato. Melt in your mouth, fantastic! The shoestring fries with garlic aioli were also just as delicious! The garlic aioli, was probably one of the best I’ve had. It complemented the fries very well, and I’m usually a ketchup kind of gal! Definitely will go back here for the food, maybe with a few less people next time!

Just a great place all around. Food is always good and the staff is not just nice but personable as well. Great location, one side of the restaurant is open to the sidewalk and some views see the pier and ocean. It’s small, crammed even, but with good bustling energy. Parking is rarely close by but that’s Manhattan Beach. Most of all, excellent beer selection on tap!

Nice little lunch/dinner spot. The Long Beach location is better(they have fried brussel sprouts and an all around bigger/more open location). Parking is also a pain and you’ll probably have to pay at a meter or the public parking lot. Their bubbly white sangria with peaches is pretty good. The mixed bag gives you shoe string fries and sweet potatoe fries with avocado buttermilk sauce and garlic aoli. I love the aoli is bomb, the avocado sauce is ok. I ordered like 3 extra aolis for my blue cheeseburger. The burger was so juicy! It’s like $ 12 for a burger(without fries) so this place is a bit overpriced :/ I do love their craft beer selection, which also seems smaller compared to Belmont Shores.

Came here with two good friends for New Year’s Eve brunch at around noon. First of all, parking here is horrendous especially on weekends and holidays! Also, expect long wait times. It would probably be best if you come right when they open at 11am. Great location right in the heart of downtown Manhattan Beach and walking distance to the boardwalk/pier. There’s a small bar area and not tooo many tables. I dislike that there’s barely any elbow room here and the fact that you can hear everyone else’s conversations. Service was fast and friendly, although I felt a bit rushed! One of my friends ordered the Grilled Fish Tacos while my other friend ordered a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with guacamole on the side as she is allergic to avocado(I know, right? How sad!). I, on the other hand, ordered the Veggie Bowl. It had quinoa, edamame, shishito peppers, snap peas, peanuts, and chili oil. The shishito peppers were the selling point for me. The veggie bowl itself looked very appetizing, especially garnished with fried onions on top. However, taste wise? Made me very disappointed and brought up one of the worst feelings in a foodie’s life: food regret. Veggie bowl was sadly very bland and flavourless. Overall sad lunch and sad last meal of 2015. The Mixed Bag we ordered to share was great. It’s a mix of their shoestring fries and sweet potato fries served with two sauces: garlic aioli and avocado buttercream sauce. I’m not too partial to shoestring fries but their dipping sauces were a nice complement. I would have loved a sangria or some good ol’ Allagash White(or both!) but I was driving us so I had to say no. Better safe than sorry!

This place is right on point, but don’t come here if you want elbow room or don’t want to wait for a table. The food is darn good and the atmosphere is really nice. Sports bar, beach restaurant, and beer room mixed together. Let’s talk about the restaurant side of it. If you love burgers, you know how hard it is to find a good blue cheese burger. Let me tell you their Blue Cheese Bacon Burger is so good! The Bacon and Blue Cheese are mixed and cooked together and it is spread on. I cut up a few pieces of the red pepper that was served on the side and put it on the burger. Bam! Kicked it up a notch! I started with a house made chicken tortilla soup with fresh avocado on top! That got my engine running! Next came the aforementioned burger. Finally a tall iced tea with fresh squeezed lemon wedge. I ask nicely, «Can I get a few extra lemons on the side, please?» They brought me one wedge on the glass. Hmmmmm!!! They got my bill wrong! Wouldn’t you know it, they wanted to charge me $ 30 for one person, no alcohol. I counted the items but when I looked closely it was not what I ordered. The guy said he gave me a check for another table. Luckily I was not in a hurry that day and it was corrected. Harmless mistake? You decide.

Simmzys is a great place to go for dinner! They’ve got great burgers and beer and if there’s a game on, then this is the place to be. We went on a Thursday night at 8:30pm and the place was packed! I’d recommend the bacon blue deluxe burger, the simmzys burger, and the chicken burger. Although it was busy, the burgers came out very quickly and tasted delicious. For me, a great burger is all about the meat and the bun and simmzys does both well. The meat was cooked perfectly to medium and the chicken burger is served on a buttered brioche bun. YUM Now for the beer. They have a pretty good selection of beers on tap, but of course also be prepared to pay anywhere from $ 6 – 10 per glass.

This might seem unfair; The location is great, blocks from the beach. There are parking meters and pay lots everywhere. The tap selection is really good. The fries with garlic aioli are really good. The blue cheese burger is even better. But, the flies!!! I’m sitting indoors at the bar, and there are flies everywhere, not just a few, dozens, crawling all over everything; my pint glass, my fries, my burger, my hands, my face. Gross! Totally ruined my dining experience. Blech!
