I had the trio tacos with meat types selected from the folks that work here. Amazing. Simply amazing flavors and prices that you can’t beat anywhere around. I look forward to coming back soon.

Amazing food and amazing service! I had the salmon bowl with brown rice, my son had the chicken tortilla soup, my oldest son and husband had some fish tacos! We were all satisfied and will be back on our next visit to Manhattan Beach!

Consistently the worst wahoos in the entire chain of the restaurant. After five years and multiple orders, I have yet to have an experience where I feel comfortable not double checking the bag before I leave. A MAJOR disappointment for an otherwise stellar brand. Avoid this location at all costs!

Just the perfect post-surf sesh grinds. Been eating here since we were in junior lifeguards years back. Rice, tacos, enchiladas, and cool surfy/skate themed dining area. No one ever says no if this places is in the pool for picking where to eat because there is something for everyone here.

Not impressed. I’ve been told that this is the place to come to if you want to try the best fish tacos. I ordered the two taco combo. To my surprise it ended up being more expensive that what it said on the menu, the menu said nothing about upcharges for brown rice, or white beans. The fish taco was overcooked. Initially I thought that it was chicken because of how hard it was. The carne asada taco was lame, no flavor. The beans and rice were bland, no flavor stood out. Even the chips and salsa were terrible… Cold, flavorless, and meh. Not sure why this place is often cited by people for having the best tacos. I think that a regular taco shop can make a more decent fish taco than these wahoos. Never coming back here again.

I work down the street and order lunch to-go every once in while. Everyone in the front is very friendly and the food is consistently good. I had a small problem one time, but they were very understanding and incredibly accommodating.

The food is great but the Torrance location seems to have a better taste. The quesadillas are definitely a pass for me but the citrus slaw tacos hit the spot.

Had a few of their items over the years, but if you’re headed to Wahoos, for me it has to be the Ocean Reef Burrito with Spicy Chicken. I would say this place is better than Chipotle, and you wont end up paying a healthcare deductible. A great part of downtown MB.

Wahoos is always delicious. This location in Manhattan Beach. Food is always on point. Service is always amazing. I love the taquitos and fish tacos. The green sauce is my favorite as well.

Its a chain but who cares, it tastes awesome, is reasonably priced and is a pretty healthy lunch option(just skip the oversized softdrinks). Grilled fish, Grilled chicken, Shrimp… you can’t go wrong. Fresh salsa tableside is another great touch!

I stopped by to grab a quick burrito while hanging out at Manhattan beach a couple of days ago. I decided to get the Outer Reef Burrito($ 6.99) that comes with cheese, lettuce, rice, beans and green sauce. I went with the Cajun Fish as my choice of protein and was in and out in 10 minutes with my burrito to-go. The burrito was a decent sized one for the price and surprisingly it tasted pretty good too. The taste of the Cajun fish was excellent. It was fresh with a nice firm texture. The only advice that I can give is to get the pinto beans in place of the black beans as the intense taste of black beans overpowers the taste of fish. If you decide to stick with black beans then get half a serving as that should be enough. The standard Outer Reef Burrito does not come with guacamole or sour cream so you can have that added for about a buck more. Liked what I ate and would have no problem returning.

The Wahoo’s chain is a solid place to get fish tacos in Los Angeles. However, my experience today at this location only merited 3 stars. I had friends in town who wanted fish tacos, so I took them to Wahoo’s, in part because I have Celiac disease and therefore can’t eat gluten. When we entered, I asked about gluten free options. The guy at the register asked someone behind the counter, and reported back that they didn’t have GF. I pointed at the sign, which clearly stated that they have GF options. The register guy went back to the guy behind the counter, who came out to talk to me. He asked if I wanted Gluten free or «no gluten free.»(Who asks for gluten?) I proceeded to ask questions about menu items, but didn’t feel confident about his answers until I did some research on my phone. Eventually, I ordered two fish tacos, one regular, one slaw style, with rice and beans. When my meal came, I asked the server if the tortillas were only corn. He hesitated, then said, «Yes.?» The tacos tasted good(not spectacular, but good). The rice and beans were basic. The service was fast and friendly, but not knowledgeable. Please please please train your staff!

Always a good standby when you want inexpensive fast food that offers healthy options. And while many restaurant brands try to borrow from the surf/skate/snowboard culture, Wahoo’s always feels more authentic and true to the outdoor lifestyle. While I’ve tried many of their menu items(burritos, salad,), I keep coming back to grilled fish taco with brown rice and black beans. It’s healthy, it’s tasty, and it’s even cheap. In a rut? I think not, because they’ve introduced their citrus slaw and now that’s a must for my tacos. Also love their special green sauce, which has a cilantro base.

This place lacks the killer flavor you dream of when going to a fish place right near the shore. However, some dishes do have a ton of flavor, but they taste pretty bad. Would not recommend the nachos to start off. It looks like they threw them in the microwave. Bleh. I ordered the Outer Reef Burrito with mild fish and green sauce. The green sauce went terrible with the burrito. I should have ordered the red sauce but I doubt it would’ve been much better. The fish was very chewy and the tortilla was hard as a rock. The fish taco was a little better but not by much. The fish was again very tough and there really wasn’t any flavor to the taco. Maybe my taste buds were nonexistent after swimming all day but this meal just didn’t do it for me. I’ll come back again and give it another shot but for now I’m disappointed.

TLDR: very legit fish tacos, more expensive than anyone inland is used to, interior so stickered and busy that you may miss the beers stacked on the counter. The service is fast, the food is well-prepared but occasionally a bit slapdash, it’s nice and hot and on par with what you expect from fish tacos in California. The sides are hit and miss; spicy cajun white beans were amazing but the brown rice was a bit too crunchy for my blood. Now let me warn your eyeballs. There has been a trend for 30 years now in any beach-based fast food establishment in California to sticker the living hell out of everything in sight with appliques from surf shops, skateboarding gear, punk bands, you name it. And this place is WALLPAPERED. Everywhere. No square centimeter of exposed surface is left un-vinyled. It’s a great way to get up to speed on current surf/skate trends but it may make your head explode.

It’s become a Sunday ritual between the husband and I. We stop by Wahoo’s after our run because A) We’re all sweaty and gross and I’m too embarrassed to dine anywhere else B) It’s relatively cheap, semi-heathly and consistent His love for Wahoo’s all started in San Diego. He orders the same thing every single time, #2– enchilada with green sauce. I, on the other hand, like to mix it up! My favorites are the taquitos, cajun beans and Kalua Pig Bowl. The rice has a buttery taste to it so sometimes if I’m trying to avoid carbs, I like to double up on the beans. The black beans are pretty standard issue so if you’re feelin’ a bit spicy– get the cajun version. They consist of white(navy?) beans with tomatoes, onions and seasoning. Are you a vegetarian? Get the *new* Kale Salad or Banzai Bowl with Tofu. It’s the silken kind, so just beware. I know some people who are turned off by that stuff because of the texture. I’ve only had one issue with this location… Where I ordered fish taquitos and got pork instead. This wasn’t such a big deal only because I’m not a picky eater, but if I was on a restricted diet(i.e for religious reasons I can’t eat pork or I’m allergic), this would have pissed me off just a lil’- you know what I mean?
