Yellow Cab

Scheduled on Saturday afternoon for 4:30 AM pickup for a trip to LAX on Sunday morning. At 4:30 dispatcher called to say will be 8 – 10 minutes late. At 4:40 I phoned. Dispatch said 8 – 10 minutes more late. At 4:50 received robo call that taxi had arrived. Called dispatcher. Taxi was at the wrong place… no similarity with address of pickup. Arrived at 4:55. Driver apologetic but still very late. Reservations SHOULD have priority… especially if going to the airport to catch a flight. Online estimator showed $ 16 to the airport. Actual fare $ 25.75 with no traffic, no wait time. Purposeful distortion? At 4:30 there was an Über 7 minutes away. Bad decision to honor the commitment to Yellow. Won’t happen again. Hereafter, Über will be the first choice.

I would leave no stars if possible. The driver showed up 15 minutes late (I called the night before to schedule a morning pickup to the airport), unapologetic and very rude. He ALSO REFUSED to give me change when he realized I wouldn’t tip him. He argued with me and said because he put my bag in the trunk, he earned his tip… not in this country, buddy. Normally I don’t leave negative reviews, but I’ve never dealt with a more unprofessional can service. DO NOT use yellow cab if you can possibly help it! This place should get shut down!!!

Told me it would take 15 minutes… took 45 minutes

We called for a cab and they sent us a luxury car, charged us almost $ 20 more, and arrived 15 minutes late. When I called to speak with the manager the man shouted and accused me of not being clear specifically requesting a cab instead of a car service. He did not allow me a chance to speak and hung up on me. Do NOT call this service. Read the reviews people.

This is not a taxi service. When I walked outside there was an SUV waiting.
It cost $ 15 more than usual.
When I confronted the driver about their false advertisement I was verbally attacked: /​

This is not the number for Yellow Cab!!! This is the number for a luxury car service.
Instead of the usual $ 20 – 25 ride to the airport, this ride cost me $ 45.
Not sure if this is because Unilocal put the wrong number for yellow cab, or if this is an incorrect post… But it was surprisingly more expensive than usual.
Car was obviously very nice. And driver was very friendly.
But this was not a pleasant surprise.

Worst cab ride EVER. Trying to find a way to file a complaint with the DOT. BEWARE!
I called late last night 12:25am to get a ride to LAX at 5:15am. The man who answered the phone said he was the same man who drove me to airport this morning. I don’t know his name. He was rushed on the phone, took my address and hung up. That should have been my clue. Most can rides from my place at 5:15am cost about $ 15 or less (3 miles). This one cost me $ 40!!! RUN FROM THESE PEOPLE. The guy arrived on time, I asked the rate since there was no meter in the van. He said, «We have a flat rate of $ 35 from the Beach Cities.» I expressed that a typical fare is $ 15 at that hour. He started cussing at me. I was scared and wanted out of the cab but I was stuck. He refused to take a credit card, didn’t give me a receipt and I don’t have his license plate or car number. The vehicle was a huge SUV type car. Big and black. It says Express Ride on the side. The driver screamed about being an accountant and a mediator and having a bachelor’s degree and how people cheat him and how he’d been up all night, etc. I was afraid NOT to pay him and tip him. I just wanted OUT of that cab asap. I paid cash (no choice) and I have no receipt. BULLY!!!

No Show for prearranged pick up… Next time: Über!

I just called this place they said they were sending a cab… then I called them back in 20 minutes and said my flight leaves in an hour. they said I have the wrong number. but it’s the same number. I triple checked it. WTF?!

Worst service I have ever experienced. Called to order a cab, operator said 15 mins. 20 minutes later called back to get an estimated arrival time and was hung up on. Called back four times and it went straight to voicemail. Finally asked someone else to call from their phone, they picked up. When my boyfriend complained about their customer service we were told we had a bad attitude. Unbelievable! DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY

I did not get our drivers name, but the cab number is 6550.
We came back unexpectedly early. We had hoped to get a cab for about $ 50…so we were very disappointed when we were told it would be about $ 75. We decided to walk over to the shuttles and get a quote (different review).
Came back, and the original driver was still waiting for a fare. He did not make us feel uncomfortable for coming back with our tail between our legs.
He put the meter on, and we drove off.
The car ride was very smooth in his smart car, which was also a nice clean car that had no bad smells or mystery stains.
He drove perfectly legal, not jerky, and did not try to make any conversation, but readily answered any questions we had. Very polite and courteous.
The ride was $ 75. Just like he predicted.

Was eating sour cream while driving… Enough said.
Also didn’t show up to the right address. I had to walk a ways to get to him.
Didn’t stop at stop signs…
Charged a flat rate of $ 35 for a 15 minute drive instead of tracking mileage.

Almost run into by cab #3015 @ 6:30am on 30 May ’12 in Redondo Beach when driver blew through red light with a couple and a baby in back

Used them for the first time. Arrived 5 minutes early for a very early trip to LAX. Very professional and courteous. Car was a very clean green Toyota Prius. One of the partner’s son in law was the driver. Glad I found them will use again!

Quick, friendly, honest — I wouldn’t call any other cab in the south bay!

I’ve used Yellow cab in the past, with mixed results. As a passenger, I’m often uncomfortable with their drivers’ habits… the typical ‘crazy cab driver’ behavior pulling risky moves. They drive like they have a woman in labor in the backseat, even (especially?) when they haven’t been told the passengers are in a hurry.
Whatever, that’s cab drivers for you.
However, as a fellow LA driver, I have to say I’ve had by far the MOST close-​call near-​accident situations with Yellow Cab Co. cabs. It’s getting ridiculous. I’ve started snapping pictures with my phone of said offending cabs, planning to send them to the company with license plate and date/​time info, but recently discovered that they have no way to do so listed on their website. Really? This is a customer service company and you have no way listed on your site for customers to submit feedback?
Alright, Unilocal it is. Problem with that is that there are approximately 40 692 457 different Unilocal entries for Yellow Cab Co. in LA. I can’t decide whether it’s spammy or justified to copy-​and-​paste my review into every one. Hmmm…
