Had some business to take care of before returning to The OC and wanted a quick bite. I sat at the counter and was greeted by a nice server with a smile! I ordered the pot roast sandwich! So much better than I expected and the fries crispy and hot! Excellent service, food and a clean wash room! I’ll be back!

My boyfriend and I are frequent customers. We go at least once a week. We were there at 12:20 am to like 1:30 and when it came time to pay the check we always split the check there and so we did the usual. But it took longer than usual and so the waitress Christina came back and asked if they picked up our check and we said yes but it was taking a while and so I guess they exceed the amount the checks the register could take in that batch and it declined our payment and so the manager never came and told us that they had to run the payment twice. Which he should have instead of having the waitress tell us but then we asked for the original copy, the one were it says it was declined and he says I don’t know and so the waitress says where is the original? He says he threw it away and gets mad at the waitress for asking when I asked for it. Very unprofessional. I’m not mad at the fact we both were charged twice I’m mad at the fact the manager didn’t have the decency to come up and tell us. He sent the waitress when it’s not her job. You guys need a new manager other then the bald, short guy. Promote the waitress she does a better job than he does. He chose to sit down and not care. I don’t think we will be going there for a while b/c of this last experience. But you are always nice and polite Christina. The bald guy sucks. I never said you guys weren’t hardworking. I have never had a bad experience until last night and we have been coming at least once if not twice a weekend for the last year and half. I don’t even consider it a bad experience last night. I am a manager and I would never send my employees to tell a guest about something with the batch and having to do a second authorization. I just think it’s unprofessional and he shouldn’t of gotten irritated with her and if we were asking for the receipt. That’s not her fault. I don’t believe he was going to tell us that there was a pending charge and authorization charge because he had thrown the original receipts in the trash

My niece who is a regular wanted to stop in here on our day trip from Newport Beach. We asked for a table outside to people watch and be warmed by the sun. Between the three of us, we had the egg sandwich, the international omelet, and a bean burger. I tasted all of the dishes which were all good. The portions are large and worth the price. The location to the pier and the strand is perfect, you’ll need to walk after the big meal here.

This place always puts me in a good mood, and even though I rarely pull all-nighters anymore, it’s still nice to know that I can come here any time of the day without worrying about closing time. The food is good, but nothing to write home about. It’s just good, old-fashioned American fare. I usually get the salad with panko-fried chicken & dressing on the side. Their honey-bran muffins are really tasty, and I love all their sandwiches and french fries(I am picky with my fries). Service is always great! On mornings, they have complimentary coffee while you wait for your table(there’s usually a wait for brunch on weekends Not too bad, we usually wait 15 – 20 mins). Family friendly vibe… I can definitely see myself coming here with my kids someday! :)

This place is open 24 hours! I came here for a super late dinner after my graduation and the food here is absolutely delicious! There wasn’t much of a wait, but this place can get pretty busy though! We had the Chicken penne with spinach and sun-dried tomatoes as well as the Breakfast Potato Nachos! The Chicken penne was pretty decent. The portions were pretty huge, however the potato nachos were what won me over! Just imagine delicious heavenly cubed potatoes with jack and cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs, with avocado, cream and pico de gallo. Absolute heaven! Service is friendly, credit cards accepted. Street parking that I know of. Would come here again!

Really great spot. Think of it like a really cool Denny’s. It’s 24⁄7 and was packed! Food was good but a little pricey but what’s not to expect for this area. Parking is hard but again, parking by any beach is hard. They have a nice patios that goes have heaters and really great food!

Always has been and will be a Iconic restaurant in central Man Beach. The family owned eatery is the spot day or late night. Expansive menu, great food from all varieties continental for most part, there is always a good pick. It’s Summer and time to get out on their covered patio along Manhattan beach Blvd and enjoy a light dish or a mimosa, heck do them both. Everyone knows this place and if you haven’t been yet, it’s time to put the kettle on your beach cities route. Hi to the family and keep up the smiles. I would certainly give the place 5 stars for every category, but as everyone knows 5 stars is a 2 or 3 star Michelin in my global food diaries. I’ve been coming to the Kettle since I was 13 yes young. Awesome!

A gem in Manhattan. Definitely a go to joint on a late Saturday night. First time visit and it it was hard to disappoint with a short stack but for $ 4.50 for 3 big pancakes?! I had to pack up half of it for a jolly breakfast the next morning. Definitely coming back!

The Kettle seems to be a very popular place for breakfast near the beach. We decided to sit at their busy outdoor patio. The menu is large with lots of variety. We went with the Smoked Salmon Egg Benedict and the Breakfast Sandwich both of which were delicious and tasted fresh. The service was the downside here, the food was brought out without cutlery and then getting and paying the check just took way too long. If it weren’t for the service mishaps, I would have bumped it to a four star. I enjoyed the food and the chill ambiance of The Kettle.

Came here for brunch before going back home to the bay area. Parking was a little rough but we managed to find a spot. We expected a long wait since it was brunch time on a Sunday but the wait was only about 30 minutes which wasn’t too bad. We were lucky enough to get outdoor seating, it was such a nice day out. We sat down and ordered our drinks first once our drinks came out we put in our food orders. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. The Eggs Benedict here has to be one of the best I’ve ever had. It came with a side of country potatoes and a glass of cranberry juice.

This is my first time going to the kettle. And I was not disappointed. The menu is huge. They have anything you can possibly want. The atmosphere is rustic and really warm and inviting. I got the blackened salmon burger. It was $ 16. It came with a lettuce, tomato, onion, and manue sauce with a side of fries. The salmon was really fresh. I did not expect the salmon to bo so fresh, but fortunately it was. The quality was really good. It tasted really good. The special manue sauce really made the sandwich. It was one of the best salmon sandwiches I have had. The fries were great too. They were seasoned nicely and perfectly crisp. I also got the tuna manhattan, which was also $ 16. It came on a wheat bun with sprout, tomato, a generous amount of avocado, and cheddar cheese. It was ok. It was your typical tuna sandwich. I got it with a side salad, which was really good. The ranch dressing was fantastic. But the sandwich itself was nothing special. I would not recommend it. The service was very good. They were nice and accommodating. The parking is annoying though. They don’t have a lot of spaces in front. There are parking garages, but you have to pay for those. The best part is that they are open 24 hours so it’s perfect for a midnight snack. I would highly recommend this place.

For my experience here I wasn’t too impressed. One thing I have to admit is that this place was pretty bizzy. The food was mediocre and just whatever. Nothing special. I had the French toast breakfast which was kinda blah n boring. The good thing is that they serve breakfast all day which is great. The muffins are fantastic. You have to try the carrot and banana nut muffins. I’ve never had the lunch or dinner from here but I doubt that I would after the failed attempt at the breakfast

I just moved here from Pittsburgh recently and on my day off went to explore some beaches. I stopped at the kettle for a late lunch and ordered the bacon lettuce tomato avocado sandwich. I must say for such a simple sandwich is was popping with flavor. Every bite was as good as the last. The view was nice the waitress was attentive and the price wasn’t to bad either. Overall I was very satisfied with the service, food, and atmosphere!

Up all day, up all night — that’s what The Kettle does, they serve us 24 hours, 7 days a week. I love that, and it’s so rare to find beyond a local Denny’s. It doesn’t look like a 50’s diner, but all in all, that’s essentially what it is – a large menu mostly filled with American fare of the home cooking variety also known as comfort food. Memories: Zucchini Parmesan(for $ 9.95, 4.5 stars). Back in the day, they were $ 4.95, but these«sticks» are legendary — some of the best you’ll find anywhere. I used to come in just for an order of these! Also, the carrot-raisin muffin is bombtastic. For breakfast, I prefer Uncle Bills — the other food served here is 3.5 star, and service is quite slow. If you are eating late night or after the«club», this is a welcomed addition to any neighborhood. For me, The Kettle holds a dear spot.

This diner is super cute and 24⁄7. It’s got a relaxed ambiance and the service is great too. I ordered a Kettle Burger with a soup on the side. At first, I was unsure of which soup to get – I was torn between broccoli cheddar and chicken tortilla… I ultimately chose the chicken tortilla since our waitress Christina said it was spicy. When we got out food, Christina was so kind and gave us a small side of the broccoli cheddar soup! She’s the best! The burger was big, juicy, and filling. The chicken tortilla soup wasn’t spicy but it was still good. And the broccoli cheddar soup… absolutely delicious! It was the bomb dot com!

This soup is almost inedible. Broccoli Cheddar Soup @thekettlemb. It’s inedible because it taste way too good to be true and at the same time you know your ingesting about 4,000 calories(no joke). Go in knowing your about to give your taste buds an overdose from flavored food crack mixed with warm soupy heroin. It will for sure upset your stomach, so be prepared. But if you can just have 3 spoonfuls and no more, you will taste heaven and see love in a physical aura. Love and Hate. Yin and Yang. Good and Evil.

The Kettle is probably a * * * Three Star restaurant for the food quality and pricing. How it earns it’s 4th * star is that it’s open 24 Hours, giving me access to hot food at my beckon call, perfect when hanging out later than you should be out or if you have guests flying in/out of LAX(it’s only about a 15 min drive away if you take Sepulveda to the Aiport). So, that convenience is a major plus. The menu is somewhat diverse too, so I’ll give ‘em kudos for having nearly«something for everyone» here too. Parking is hit/miss since it’s in the heart of the Downtown Pier area of Manhattan Beach, walking distance to the beach sand and ocean and within the retail stores and restaurant rows of the area.

I have been eating at the keytle for approximately 30 years. This was always a favorite go to place at two or 3AM to grab breakfast. The menu has been very modernized and updated. I had the Chinese chicken salad the other day and I must say it was excellent. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Parking can be a little bit of a problem, but there are two or three lots not more than a block or two away.

The hot steamy carrot muffins are great. Glad my friend asked me to meet her here for breakfast. Luckily the two times I have been here in the past month, I didn’t have to wait. I also love the fact that they have mini muffins and coffee for people who do have to wait. Coffee is okay and the food is good. Service is really fast and they’re friendly. They are very attentive in a way they aren’t trying to get you out of the restaurant. I parked in the public parking structure around the corner on Center Place. There’s always spots open. It’s metered but they take credit and debit cards. The second floor is 2 hours parking and the roof has up to 10 hours(I think). Price is affordable for what you get. If you meal comes with the choice of muffins, they give you two.

Came here based on people’s recommendations and so glad I did. Met some friends from LA for Sunday lunch so Manhattan beach was a perfect midway location for all of us. It was super busy since it was a Sunday but we only waited 15 mins to be seated for our party of 5, and they have a very comfortable waiting area outside where you can sit and watch the action go by. Service was prompt — menus and drinks came fast and so did our food once we ordered. We ordered crab cakes, burgers, chicken sandwich and kid’s mac and cheese and everyone enjoyed their food. They don’t have any liquor, just beer and wine, so no chance for a Sunday Bloody Mary, but I ordered the cider instead and it was great. Burger was nice and juicy, cooked medium just how I like it. Fries and fat and well seasoned. Reasonable prices, $ 105 for the five of us with food and alcohol. Great family friendly place, good food and fast service. I would definitely come back.

I came here on New Years at 8am and assumed that there was going to be a big crowd. but luckily there was not! The Kettle has been a staple in Manhattan Because and have been here for a very long time. My fellowship date for this breakfast meal stated that she used to come here while her kids were growing up for a warm meal, and now they’re married and have kids of their own! Obviously, The Kettle has sentimental values to some. And now for me, I will have a special place for this restaurant whenever I am in the area. Environment — The Kettle is located nicely on a street corner that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Upon seeing the restaurant, you’d notice there’s an abundance of outdoor patio seating that you can opt for in order to enjoy the outdoors and see the ocean. If you are not a fan, then you can enter the restaurant where you’ll see numerous tables for you to choose from. The kettle has such a nice and homey feel to it. I would come here for any meal of the deal. And the best part about it is that it’s opened 24⁄7! If I’m awake at 2am in the morning, I am definitely coming here. Serivce — Upon arrival we were greeted by the hostess who was so kind to direct us to our seats. The waitress was very attentive and was always waiting around to refill an empty cup of coffee or even asking us how are meals were coming along. Good customer service. Food — The Kettle is your classic mom and pop shop. I feel that everything you get here would be made of love and be delicious. I have heard that it is good for any time of the day and is always considered a «warm meal» for your tummy. I came here doe breakfast. 1) The Kettle Breakfast– 1 egg, 2 bacon/sausage, potatoes, either a juice or cup of fruits(I got the fruits) and 2 muffins. This is your standard breakfast and it’s a delicious and simple way to start the morning. You won’t get too stuffed with your meal as long as you save your muffins for the end and take them for a snack later on. 2) Kale, Spinach and Ricotta Omelette — a decent sized plate with a very filled omelette. I am a big omelette lover and I was a very big fan of this dish. It comes with potatoes and your choice of 2 muffins. 3) Muffins — I was told that the honey bran is what they’re known for. So get that one! it was delicious and I couldn’t finish the whole muffin… I took it as snack for the day. I also got banana nut. can you say yum? I think that was the most attractive muffin I have ever seen before… I wish I took some more glamour shots of it haha All in all, I am a big fan of breakfast and homey places to eat. so The Kettle was a perfect restaurant for me to dine in on an early morning. I would love to come here again :)

Ever since we moved to El Segundo, I’ve been dying to try this little gem of an elaborate 24 hour diner-restaurant a block from the beach/strand and two blocks from the pier. I was not disappointed one bit. The menu has it all. Anything your little heart desires is probably listed. But seriously, its got variety. Of course they are best known for their breakfast. I had the blue crab omelet and muffins — honey oat bran and banana nut. One word: Yum! Hubs had the huevos rancheros and it was definitely a different take — 3 fried eggs atop corn tortillas, black beans, caramelized onions, cilantro & potatoes covered with jack & cheddar cheeses, chipotle sauce, avocado & fire roasted salsa and the corn tortilla appears to be deep fried. Healthy? Oh nooooo, but dang it you only live once and this would be the best comfort/hangover food for the am. They also have a large selection of wines, beer and draft beers at that! Coffee was excellent too! The interior as well as the wrap around sidewalk patio has a lot of charm and the décor inside although dim, has a romantic vibe. Unless your in the back/or side either facing Manhattan Beach Blvd/Highland Ave, you’ll be fortunate to have a mini view of the ocean. Don’t be turned off by the long lines, especially weekend days, they are so sufficient in service, it goes by fast! Service was excellent too. The plus for us, is that we were lucky to have spotted someone backing out and got close parking, better was the fact that during the holidays it’s free for that period of time that the meter is valid for. I can see why it’s a favorite and very crowded during Mom and Pops day. This is on my favorite list for sure! :)

It’s true, I’ve been here probably 50 times and I have no idea why I haven’t shared a review. Hands down, The Kettle is a terrific diner — the menu is packed with options good enough to satisfy any craving at any time of day. It’s popular and does get busy, but the food is really good — consistent and tasty and great service too. We visit when we’re craving a good bowl of French onion soup. With a salad it’s the perfect meal. We love The Kettle when we just don’t feel like cooking but want a meal that’s unpretentious and stick to your ribs good.

Just a couple of blocks from the pier at Manhattan Beach, The Kettle has something for everyone. It’s casual and mid-priced and the food is pretty good. Portions are pretty big so price is fair and there is coffee and muffins available while you wait. I ordered the Braised Pot Roast Dip and although delicious, it was a tad more dry than I expected, but the au jus dip took care of that, but that’s the one of the reasons for one less star. Also because the outdoor seating was a little cramp, the girl next to us almost tripped trying to get out of her table to go to the restroom. The staff is very attentive and friendly and I definitely recommend giving it a try when you’re in the area.

I told my friend I was craving crabcake benedict and this was the place he took me. It has a casual diner type of feel, but is located very close to Manhattan Beach. I do not know about anything else, but their crabcake benedict is on point. Eggs were perfectly poached, and the orange cilantro hollandaise went so well with everything… yum-o! Their grapefruit juice was pretty good as well. I would definitely return if I am in the area again.

My family took me here once they got in from the airport. They told me this is one of their favorite places to eat when they fly in. This was my first time here. The menu was very wide with a lot of choices. From burgers to delicious entrees like fish and chips, the final decision was difficult. I ended up getting a huge burger with a side of garlic fries. It was amazing! The burger was huge and I could’t eat it. The interior was beautiful, dazzling, exquisite, and relaxing. I give it 4 Stars because of the waitress. She was nice and attentive in the beginning, but then she just went into her own little world of no service to us. She didn’t refill our drinks, check on us, or be efficient on the bill. We requested 2 separate checks, but she was too confused on how to do it. Then she took forever to come back to take the credit cards. I saw her just stand around with the other staff. I thought this was very unprofessional and rude. Overall, I was impressed with this restaurant and I would suggest stopping in here for a meal. Just be careful not to get our waitress. Sadly, I can’t remember her name.

I really liked this place! It has a chill atmosphere with dim lighting, and the service is good. Great spot for late-night grubbing. It reminds me of a really upscale Denny’s but with way better food options and excellent service. We had«Chemo» as our waiter and he was extremely professional and friendly. He took really good care of us. I ordered the Kale Quinoa salad to balance out the fried zucchini sticks and bran muffin! Everything came out perfectly and was reasonably priced. I would definitely dine at The Kettle if I’m in the area.

The Kettle is such a cute little restaurant… or diner since its 24⁄7? The décor can intertwine as both. I went here with my friend because we were in the area and in search of breakfast food for dinner. I love how The Kettle is walking distance from the boardwalk, and if you eat outside, you have a perfect view of the ocean! The food itself is similar to Denny’s or IHOP, but«fancier» and has a more«homey» atmosphere to it. I got the blueberry pancakes. It tasted awesome, but I don’t think it’s worth $ 9. The food in general was a little more expensive than what I wanted to pay, but I guess that’s the trade off for having a great cozy atmosphere so close to the beach. The service was great. The waiters were nice and attentive, and they do dress the entrees up to feel a bit more upscale compared to simpler diners in the area. Overall great experience! I would love to go back again!

Breakfast alllllll day, yes!!! I love diners, I love breakfast for dinner, I love being by the beach, I could go on… Late night dinner, dining al fresco with candles lit and having blueberry and granola pancakes is the jam. Super happy that places like this exist. Service was good, food was good and I think I just found my new favorite diner. For reals. I could hear the music playing from the bar next door and feel the ocean breeze and every time I looked around, I just kept thinking of how years ago, I thought Manhattan Beach was the dream neighborhood and man, is it still true today.

While on the beach adventure today of stopping at beaches across pacific coast highway we stopped for lunch at Manhattan beach and my mom chose this place based on the huge menu ! Cute little place with a restaurant diner ambiance, casual, booths and bar eating. We chose outside which overlooks the streets and downtown Manhattan and faintly the beach. Breakfast served all day and so many More options. I had the kale Quinoa salad which was kale with Quinoa, garbanzo beans, tomatoes, avocado, and balsamic served with garlic bread. It was pretty good ! Very healthy and flavorful ! The blackberry lemonade is amazing !!! My mom had the Blt with avocado and fries and my dad the kettle burger. Everyone enjoyed their meal and it was a reasonable price. The service was good and quick. Good stop if looking for a variety of food to eat at any time of the day

I have a love/hate relationship with The Kettle. A few pros would be that their menu is so diverse that you can come here not knowing what type of food you’re craving and most likely find something, they’re open 24 hrs and breakfast is served all day(and night in their case). Cons would be that drunk people make their way in here during weekends and can get annoying… but it happens… no need to hate the establishment. Also, for some reason they don’t know how to staff properly because I can see when servers get overwhelmed and also when my greeting becomes lagged and I’ve been sitting there for 6 minutes. My last con would be the service. Honestly, you don’t come to this place expecting top notch service. There are two particular servers I like and that’s about it. I’ve seen managers just sit and talk to the host when I know my food is up. I work in a restaurant so I notice all of these things. For food. I love the California Benedict! It’s delicious. Their french onion soup is great as well as their portuguese sausage soup on Wednesdays!

If you want to go to a diner but don’t want Denny’s and have a hankering for something that’s a little bit more«upscale» then this is a great place to go. They’re open 24 hours so drop in at whatever time you get hungry. They have good breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s in a great area right near the water of Manhattan Beach. If you go during he day you can see the ocean. The staff is usually very attentive and friendly. I’ve enjoyed everything I had here from the soups, the salads, the sandwiches, the honey fried chicken, the benedicts, the chicken and biscuits and the meatloaf. The meatloaf is my favorite! They also serve beer and wine if you feel like having a libation. All in all, it’s a nice place that never leaves me dissatisfied. Make sure to ask about the fresh muffins, which they serve with soft, fluffy butter!!! Get the banana nut if they have any left! Delicious
