Halal Cart

Earlier this week i continued my street meat study by visiting this cart. There are a few carts at the intersection and it is:
1. always on the northwest corner on 39^th street
2. they wear apparel which say «39^th and Broadway»
The reason why i chose this cart is because 2 – 3 weeks ago after eating a light lunch, i was lurking around for something TASTY. My plan was to get a dirty water dog for $ 1 to satisfy my munchies on the cheap. But when i arrived at the cart, I saw a sign advertising their chili dog for $ 2. I gave it a try and it was pretty damn good in terms of its sauce and whatever meat bits (probably lamb) that were in there.
After such random good fortune, I hoped their rice plates were decent as well. I ordered a lamb over rice without salad + green & hot sauce for a mere $ 5:
This was one of the worst halal plates I’ve ever eaten as everything was below average. The worst part of the plate was the lamb which was super dry and overcooked into a lump of coal:
But i persevered through my meal by finding salvation in the mediocre hot sauce. Only to find that the cart uses the sketchy boxes with the propped up bottoms:
I therefore cannot recommend this cart unless you want to randomly splurge on a $ 2 chili hot dog.
