Always a great place for a meal. The variety of deli salads is impressive and they all taste great. While you can get a cheap sandwich other places you won’t get the quality Maretti’s offers. I haven’t had any of the pizzas so can’t comment on those. The service is fast and attentive so you never have to worry about flagging someone down to fill your drink.

The vibe and coziness of this place has a big-city feel, which I love since I’m a Chicago native. The food is above average, but the service is horrible. The server definitely needs some training on what the restaurant serves and how to interact with people. I would rate this as a 3.5, but am rounding up because I am happy that the little town of Manitowoc has a cute place like this.

There last Saturday. Great food, but lousy service. Waitress needs a year in charm school.

Their food is actually just okay. The atmosphere however is FANTASTIC. It’s like being in a little neighborhood in New York or Chicago. Just perfect!

Maretti’s is the place for subs in town. The fresh bread is the best. My parents love the spaghetti sauce and go buy a container anytime they come to town for a visit. They have to many good things to mention all from the minestrone to the tortellini salad. Full meals are huge, enough food for two people. Weekdays from 11am til 1pm it is a busy place. Many of the local businesses order subs and send one person to pick up the order.

Wife and I stopped for lunch. Really enjoyed our meals, she had the Italian Beef sandwich, just melted in your mouth, came with side of au jus. I had the spicy Sicilian sandwich, that was great as well. They have sit down service and takeout. Enjoy!

The whole place has undergone a big update, and it looks great. The service is friendlier, and the food hasn’t suffered.

We went here after a shopping trip to Manitowoc. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the wine rack and the nice selections of wine. This place has been here a while as it is in an older section of town. It was probably an old grocery store back in the 1950s. They did a nice job of updating the décor. It has a diner kind of ambiance. The wait staff was behind the counter working on another order and told us to seat ourselves if we were dining in. After a few minutes they took our order. I ordered the Italian beef/sausage combo. The food was at our table in a reasonable amount of time. This was a very good sandwich consisting of a generous amount of spicy Italian beef and 2 sausages in a hoagie bun. We also shared a plate of pasta salad. The pasta salad was drenched in oil, but had a nice flavor. Over all I would say it was a nice lunch at an average restaurant. FYI: The restrooms are modern and clean. They require a $ 10.00 minimum check to use plastic.

My husband and I drove down to Manitowoc to go to the Lowe’s, as long as we were in town we decided to stop someplace for lunch. We found Maretti’s. We walked in and waited for a few minutes at the counter right as you enter, after a few minutes they told us we could seat ourselves if eating there. We found our table, and it took a while for the waitress to come by. I don’t know if she knew we were there, as there was another table of people who were sitting there waiting for the waitress as well. The menu offers everything from appetizers, salads, wraps, subs, pasta dishes and pizza. I ordered the Alpine Chicken Wrap. It was very good. I loved the sweet Italian dressing that was on it. It also had lettuce, tomato, chicken, and cheddar cheese. We also ordered a small plate of the vegetable pasta salad to share. It was o.k., it lacked flavor, and was drenched in olive oil. The décor was modern, and the place was fairly clean. I can understand the dirty floors as it is winter and with the snow and salt getting tracked in. The bathroom was clean, but it sure was a shock when you sit on the toilet seat, as there is no heat in there and the seat was cold. FYI-any credit/debit card purchase requires at least a $ 10 purchase. Overall our experience was good.

I’m not even a big red meat fan, but the hot beef sandwich here would keep me from going over the brink of vegetarianism every time, if there I ever dare go. The meat magically melts in your mouth, and the green peppers, au jus and hearty bun perfectly accomodate it. The bowtie pasta is simple and yet magical. Just the right amount of parm cheese to make you want to throw it all down. Great selection of tasty and healthy sodas in the fridge. Cute décor, friendly and thoughtful service.

Bread is always fresh. Turkey sandwich is always super simple, but delish. Great fresh and fast lunch. You can also eat in with simple service.

I used to work as a contractor at the telco building across the street, so I have eaten at Maretti’s innumerable times. I’m a fanboy now. That said, I have never found a better Italian Beef sandwich in the midwest. Their pairing of a pillowy roll that sponges the spicy juice without falling apart, and the shaved beef with the melt in your mouth green pepper is a taste sensation. If you’re feeling bold, do the combo with the Italian Sausage within the same. It’s amazing. I usually pair it with a .99 big bottle of Frostop root beer, the best beverage deal in the place, but they also have a nice selection of wines and other beverages. You’ll not be disappointed. Additionally, I like their pasta dishes. My favorite is the bowtie pasta with peppers and Parmesan cheese. It’s a meatless delight. I usually ask for ½ pound or a cup of that to share as a side dish. This is a pilgrimage site for me now, since I no longer work on the road. I come up here in February every year on my birthday when a convention is in town, and always have at least one meal here. It’s as good as I remembered every time I go back. Sometimes I haul several rolls and pounds of the beef back to Milwaukee to share with grateful friends. I keep hoping that I can bring them all up here, but instead, I choose to bring it to them. They also agree that it’s wonderful. In fact, when I drive up north to the U.P. or Green Bay or Door County I almost ALWAYS divert off the road to Maretti’s if it’s open. It’s just that good. It’s one of two places in WI that I will drive out of my way to go to.

The anti-pasta was pretty good! And their marinated olives were very good also. We didn’t get the chance to sit down and eat here, but if we’re in Manitowoc again and are feeling like Italian deli-type food, we’ll definitely swing back here to check it out. Seems pretty authentic.

CNC Links Golf Course & Restaurant is closed on Mondays! To be honest, I don’t know if its closure swayed my disappointment with Maretti’s Deli. I’ll let you read and decide: I ordered the Scallops Lambrusco. For $ 11.00, it came with my choice of soup or salad and garlic bread. The description on the menu reads verbatim: Sautéed Scallops in our own Lambrusco wine sauce. Where’s the Scallops in the Scallops Lambruso?! I got a plate full of spagetti with heavy red wine sauce and teeny tiny bits of scallops. I didn’t want to eat it. It didn’t look appetizing. It didn’t taste good. I didn’t complain or ask them to take it back. I waited until the bill was paid and we got up to go before I expressed my surprise to the Waitress. I told her that the meal wasn’t what I expected with a half-assed smile. I was more apologetic than angry.

Before picking up my sister from the SS Badger on her arrival from Ludington MI, we needed to find a local spot to eat. We nearly stopped at «Fatzo’s»(empty parking lot), but luckily Unilocal to came to our rescue even though no 3G was available. We came across Maretti’s Deli and were extremely satisfied. I ate a turkey sandwich which was solid, but pretty standard. I had to specifically ask for condiments, lettuce, and tomato for an extra fee which didn’t really matter since it was reasonably priced. However, my girlfriend and brother both ordered the italian beef. Honestly, they could have split one sandwich if they had known what they were getting into because the sub was extra, extra large. Regardless, it was delicious. I know this because after finishing my turkey sandwich, I ate half of my girlfriends sub. I have gained some weight recently, please don’t judge me. My brother got cheese on his because he gets cheese on EVERYTHING. We won’t get into details, but it’s a large portion of his regular diet… TMI? Probably. Moving on… The place had a great feel and you always know a deli is legit when they carry crunchers potato chips. If I ever return to Manitowoc, then I will certainly be re-visiting this fine deli. Best in the county!

I probably like the food from here more than I should, from a health perspective. Don’t get me wrong, they do have healthy entrees for those so inclined. But the heaping pasta dinners are so wonderful that it is hard to stop eating at a «proper» portion amount. So either indulge and take a brief lapse from your dietary concerns, or split a dinner entrée with a partner. The latter is how I approach a pasta dinner from Maretti’s. Too much goodness for my little body. The dinners are super delicious, no matter which one you choose. I tried to think of a favorite that I could share, but it is so hard to narrow the choices down. I’m torn between the Prosciutto Alfredo and the Chicken Marsala as my favorite dinner entrees. If you get a chance to try either one, you should post your thoughts and see if you don’t agree. What would a deli be without deli sandwiches and salads? My top choices in the deli sandwich section comes down to Cappicola Ham or Pastrami, served with Provolone Cheese and butter. If I’m in the mood for a sub sandwich(you know, healthier with the lettuce and stuff) I will generally go with the Sicilian Sub, which tends to be a little spicier. There are lots of other good subs, as well as hot and cold sandwiches, however. An often overlooked special, especially for a lunch or light dinner meal, is their half sandwich and salad selection. You get half of a deli sandwich of your choice and a pasta salad, which includes their very delicious green olive and artichoke salad. I could rant and rave about every single item in their deli, but you really need to experience it for yourself. The prices are reasonable, the dining area is quaint, and the food is too good for words. Smoke-free Italian dining at its best.
