This place is awesome, I had the herb encrusted goat cheese salad, the fried goat cheese was creamy and delicious, the whole salad went very nicely together. My party loved all their drinks, especially the karma martini. I will definitely visit again!

Went last night for dinner. The bar staff was clearly very busy, understandable for a Saturday. But. We never received bread(not that I should be eating bread anyway. but it’s one of my favorite features of this restaurant!) The food came out in a very timely manner, but you could tell the bartenders were so flustered with being busy that they were almost annoyed to have to wait on bar customers. And I have to say, I’m not sure if something in the kitchen changed, but the meal I had was just plain. Almost boring. I have eaten here many times before and have never complained about any of the dishes. Maybe a new chef? Maybe a new recipe? I’m not sure, but I didn’t care for it. Disappointed to say the least because we go there expecting to spend $ 100 on dinner for two .but also expecting a knock –your –socks-off meal! I’ll be back in hopes that was just a one night mishap!

Love it here! Great bread and oil and the moscato wine is delicious. All of the entrees have been wonderful so far as well! The pita bread and goat cheese appetizer is to die for. In the summer the outdoor patio is so cozy for al fresco dining!

We really enjoyed our meal at Cibo Matto. First let me say that the service was excellent. As soon as we sat down, we noticed that our high top table was a little tippy, and the our waitress, Megan, immediately fixed it. Then I asked about one of the wines and she quickly got me a taste, came back a few minutes later and brought the bottle in case I wanted a full glass. She was awesome. The bread(traditional Italian and then absolutely delicious foccacia) and the little serving dish with parmesan cheese, dried hot peppers, salt(pink Himalayan and regular) so you can mix into your olive oil was a just so good. We split a salad(house green salad which included fennel, heirloom cherry tomatoes, radishes and lots more goodies) and chicken parmesan(so good). It was plenty of food for two of us and we left knowing we would definitely be back. Delizioso!

Everything was tasty, fresh and visibly appealing. We started with 2 types of oysters, shared a golden beet salad and finished with mussels and a Cuban sandwich. If this wasn’t enough food, we finished with the Gingerbread cake covered with ginger snap molasses ice cream. This was one of the best lunches we have had in a while. We will return.

Today was my first time visiting this amazing little restaurant located in a strip mall in Mansfield. As a person who prefers to eat at home, I seldom encounter a meal at a restaurant that I don’t regret eating. Cibo Matta is a different story. My friend suggested that we split a roasted yellow beet salad and three cheese tortellini with scallops and shrimp. The salad had a beautiful dressing, lots of whole pistachio nuts, and plenty of tender sliced beets. The tortellini which I believe were homemade, were perfectly bite sized, tender and not overly spiced. There were two large shrimp and two good-sized scallops, beautifully seared with just enough crust to still remain moist inside. Sharing these two dishes was just right for an early lunch. The staff worked as a team and were very human and efficient. I will be back!

We dropped by on our way back to Boston. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. We were seated by a very nice lady. The service was excellent and friendly. I like the olive oil and bread served before the meal. I ordered w burger, which I found a bit dry but overall okay. Prices are reasonable. My wife ordered a bolognese that she also thought was okay. Overall, the food was decent but not fantastic. The service is what got the place a 4 stars rating.

At least hear they explain everything to you .They make sure you no how to set it up. They always go over it well they’do it for you .So when you do it yourself you do it right .Its just an all around great place to shop.

The atmosphere and service were a 4, but then the food came… The chicken parm sub was dry– we asked for more sauce that tasted like vodka and roasted tomatoes… The bbq chicken pizza was soggy in the middle, so wet that the toppings slid off of the crust. The tortellini with scallops and shrimp was tasty, unless you got a bit of maybe fennel with a lemony dressing– they should skip that layer– it’s like an uninvited guest.

Cibo Matto is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant with exquisite cuisine in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. The spinach salad is fabulous with a seared egg(we shared and they put an egg on each serving). We also shared the apple bacon pizza a real treat for the taste buds. The large was so big we took half home. Our friend had the chicken piccata which he said was outstanding. Service was excellent and because our wait was longer than expected our waitress arranged to comp our dessert. Again the tiramisu was fabulous!

Indeed Mansfield could boast of a great gastronomic hub! Cibo Matto is by far the most sure bet that you could have in this town for a wonderful experience — being a simple lunch or a great family function. The taste is so original and the flavors are bold, genuine and fresh. We had a great sample from the regular menu to the specials a gnocchi with mushrooms and spinach with a great truffle overtone! Pan roasted Halibut with jasmine rice to die for… Beef Bourguignon that went so well with a super Tuscan and finally a rigatoni that had nothing to envy to Boston’s North side! I am honest if you live in the south suburbs of Boston you really need to add this place to your GPS and enjoy a great atmosphere and lovely taste! Save yourself the commute and explore the menu… btw great wine list but some of these items are quite pricey — could benefit from a more democratic line up!

We enjoyed this busy, busy restaurant one Friday evening. All at our table were pleased with their appetizer selections that included fish tacos, and two salads. Our Chicken Piccata was an ample portion of lemony goodness served over our choice of pasta(linguine). The veal chop was huge and flavorful. Lots of good food enjoyed by all of us.

Owner has horrible customer service skills. We waited 45 minutes for our meal and then had to get it to go. No apologies from owner. Owner would not come out to us. Waitstaff was great.

An Italian restaurant with a vegan option? Did the earth just part and the angels weep? Discovering that Cibo has a vegan option was like finding the Holy Grail. And let me tell ya folks, the one vegan option Cibo has is pretty darn good! My only negative(if you want to call it that) is I wish they’d offer more vegan options and/or change the vegan option seasonally. That aside, every time I go to Cibo, I am pleased with my meal. Oh for all of you wine lovers, the wine selection is pretty awesome too! Don’t take my word for it, go check it out for yourself. G’head, I’ll wait. GO!

This is our favorite go to when we go out. Try the beet salad it’s the best I’ve ever had and I get this salad in many places. Nothing compares. They have really good wines as well. One time my salmon didn’t taste just right and when I mentioned it they right away brought me something else and the chef came and talked to me as well. Everyone is so friendly. Love that you Can sit outside as well. We go here whenever we have a chance.

Not bad, not great. Solidly three stars. N. and I met for lunch here not long ago. We were greeting by a friendly hostess who sat us at the tiniest two-top ever. It became progressively difficult to get all the food and drinks onto this tiny table! Our server was just okay, not really feeling the love of the lunch crowd. Whatever. Drink: two Matto margaritas. A good drink, citrus and sweetness. Maybe a bit too sweet, but strong too. App.: Antipasto for two. Hit and miss. Great charcuterie, a couple nice cheeses, then some dried out cheeses and funky marinaded vegetables. This is a huge platter with some pretty contradictory/no –complementary tastes. Some of the food just doesn’t match up. I’m not sure that I’d get it again. Entrée: Herbed goat cheese salad with grilled salmon. Salmon was perfectly cooked and tasty. The goat cheese was good on the first two bites, but then it became very heavy on the palate, especially with the sweetness of the dressing and cranberries. Don’t get me wrong: it’s a tasty salad, but I found it cloying halfway through. As others have said, the inside is reminiscent of its formerly Bertucci’s condition, and the draw here is really the patio seating… which affords a lovely view of Chauncey St. traffic. It’s loud inside, thought not so loud that we had to make an effort to hear. Lastly, this was pricey for lunch. Is Cibo Matto a gem? No. Is it the best restaurant in the immediate area? Probably, yes. Is it worth a stop? Maybe. I’d go back and try something different.

We were visiting friends in Mansfield so naturally I looked up the highest rated restaurants in the area and this place stood out. When we got to the house, our friends had already ordered and the food had arrived. They got the margherita pizza in addition to the chicken and broccoli pizza. The margherita pizza was just OK but the chicken and broccoli pizza was really good. There was also Caesar Salad which was an average, run-of-the-mill pizza joint salad. Nothing to write home about. It’s hard to compete with the amazing Italian food Boston has to offer.
