This is a great place for seafood. I got grilled salmon yesterday, which was cooked perfectly and was delicious. It comes with baked potato, mashed, or fries and either vegetable medley or cole slaw. If you ask you get fresh baked bread while you wait, no charge; but you have to ask. The only complaint was that I thought the size of the salmon I got could have been larger. The place was a bit loud with a couple little kids running around, but I guess they can’t help that. The service was great for the second time in a row. The décor is nice, but this time we were seated right next to the waitress station, so it was very busy. We had reservations, so I was suprised they sat us there. There were a lot of people waiting for tables. I’d suggest making a reservation on weekends. It’s a popular place.

I love this place. While I usually get the twin lobster, I have been expanding my palate lately. I did try the Fisherman’s Platter this week. The portions were huge. The scallops were not cleaned well, several bites inedible. The bartender was inattentive. I would have loved a piece of bread, but couldn’t grab his attention, even though I was one of four people seated. For desert, allow me to recommend some raw oysters… you will never have anything so fresh or sweet. This visit was a 4, but usually a 5.

The food was alright, however I’m rating this a 1 due to the extremely rude hostess. She was complaining the whole time in front of the guests. Very very unprofessional towards the guests and the staff. It makes me not want to come back.

Although I have to agree that the food is pretty good, their menu prices change almost daily. For example, I know that the cost of lobster fluctuates based on market price, so it is expected that when you order from the menu and it actually states market price, you can pay either more or less than the last time you had the same meal. This is why restaurants print«Market Price» under certain items. But when you have a fixed price on the menu, you expect to pay that original price, not $ 10 – 15 more than advertised because the cost of lobster happens to be up today. You either do not make the item available or you cover the price with a white label and have the server state the price if you order it. There are several ways to communicate this without providing false advertisement in a meal market at a given price.

Worst fish and chips ever. There was so much crunchy batter around the fish you couldn’t even tell what you were eating. It also had no flavor other than batter. Really disappointing. Asked for no coleslaw because I don’t like to look at it and they give it anyway. Won’t go there again.

Not impressed! I grew up in Mansfield and we loved it. Went back to visit last week and decided to go out with my fiancé to get sushi. It was small, overpriced and the squid tasted way too salty. My fiancé said he could have gotten a better fish sandwich at Fresh Catch. When I told my mom, she said Fresh Catch had recently changed owners and the quality had not been the same.

WOW! What a pleasant surprise! My daughter was craving seafood and she searched restaurants near us at that time. The menu sound delish so we figured, lets try them. When we pulled up we totally judge the place by the exterior and was skeptical but their menu was to appetizing to not check it out. When we walked in it was cozy. We settled right in and looked the menu over, made our choice quickly. We ordered Scallops wrapped in bacon for an appetizer. They were delish! Main course my daughter ordered Fried Fish and Mash Potatoes and I ordered the Shrimp and Lobster Scampi. Both were made to perfection! Now the waitress on the other hand didn’t make us feel welcome at all. «With it being our first time there» I felt like she paid more attention to the«regulars/locals» than us. I didn’t see not one smile when she greeted us at our table, nor did I feel like she even wanted to wait on us. She had a totally different face when she came to our table, which kinda made me feel unwelcome. I live 25 minutes from the restaurant and I’d love to go back just for the food but not for the service. Hopefully next time I get a nice waitress. Food 5 Stars! Service 2 ½ stars

Good food and friendly service at Fresh Catch. Generous portions and they’re usually not skimpy with the seafood in the dishes. Good clam cakes and nice to be able to order them by the piece if you just want a couple tastes.

Great place! Easily overlooked since they have an attached seafood market and in a small strip mall, but worth the find. Hidden gem. Unexpected greatness. Wonderful accommodating and friendly service. Great food. Lots of variety and plenty of dishes to choose from as well as price brackets. Drinks. I believe they have a full bar as well. We didn’t have a problem deciding what to order for drinks, appetizers nor main course. I’m sure the great company I had the pleasure of dining with tonight added to the wonderful experience we had, but I’m also sure if the food or service was even half bad we would’ve noticed! It was a great time. We ordered a variety of things and shared them all family style. Seafood tower, fishermen’s platter and lobster dinner! We even overstayed our welcome past closing time and the waitress never disturbed us or even hinted as such. Such a pleasure to find a great seafood joint so easily accessible to all of us. As we were leaving still chatting and catching up, our waitress even called out for us to come back and not forget our leftovers! :) I was so grateful she had too since I was already was looking forward to them tomorrow. Good time. It will be on my list for years to come whenever I’m back in town. Thank you. Don’t ever change!

Great birthday dinner for six. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Menu is huge and there’s also a huge sushi menu! Waitress seemed glum. Service was ok. We started with some sushi which was delicious and artfully presented. Hubby had the bacon wrapped scalloped which he said was very good. Now the entrees: food was plentiful and great. Fried clams were light and tasty, scooping was delicious with some spice, blackened tacos were three huge portions topped with fresh avocado, baked stuff shrimp, baked seafood and chicken piccata were all delicious. Huge portions. Only complaint was the fries were meh.

We were in town for our sons hockey tournament and choose this place based on reviews and it was also close by. We had a decent meal. Pretty average really. Didn’t have much zip to it. We were expected alittle more taste I guess. And it wasn’t like it was cheap.

Totally, totally disappointing and a waste of my hard earned money. This place used to have high quality fish… so fresh it didn’t even smell«fishy». Not the case anymore. I was all excited to be getting my 2 pounds of lobster meat for my husband and Dad, but the staff behind the deli/fish cases looked so annoyed to have to wait on me… they burst my bubble of excitement. Imagine the worker behind the case sold me less than 2 pounds so he wouldn’t have to fill another container!!! Bet the owner would love to hear that. It actually worked out okay because what I did buy was horrible. It smelled funny so I rinsed it with cold water to take some of the odor away. The lobster meat wasn’t spoiled or rotten… it just wasn’t FRESH.(After all… it is called«Fresh Catch») I apologized to my Dad and husband that it was not as good as I had hoped for. Two summers ago I stopped here about every other weekend and happily spent well over $ 1000 on just lobster(it was that good!!) I spent a few more dollars on many of the other yummy things they make and sell in their store. Seems like they spent a lot of money on renovations to the restaurant and are paying for it by charging high prices for lower quality product, I will never ever go back to this fish market. Captain Marden’s in Wellesley will be getting all of my business. And all the workers there are very nice. So why 2 stars… Fresh Catch’s Cornbread and Blueberry pie were still delicious… but Captain Marden’s has those too!

If you have the chance, I highly recommend this great seafood eating experience, that’s tucked away in a strip mall and can be easily passed by. I’ve been here whenever I’m in the area, and I’m a New Yorker. Was staying in Boston for the Yankees Red Sox game and still just HAD to take the 45 minute ride here. There is nothing that isn’t perfect, the fried clam oyster combo is fantastic as is the«naked» lobster roll. My only complaint, I wish it was closer! Great place, very friendly people and the recent renovation looks awesome as well! Highly recommend!

Went to the Fresh Catch tonight for dinner based on its high Unilocal rating for Oysters, and it didn’t disappoint. As my 7-year-old said mid-meal: «Let’s come here again. It’s good and it’s fast.» It’s true. Both the food and the service were excellent! Started with 4 Wellfleet Oysters and 4 Duxbury oysters, all served with brine in shell on a bed of ice. All large and excellent, although I’m going to say I liked the Duxbury ones the best-less fishy, more salty. We(family of 4) split two clam cakes, which came piping hot. We didn’t even need the tartar sauce since they were sweet and delicious on their own. Flaky on the outside, soft inside. For the main course I had the very large lobster salad roll on toasted roll(brioche?). Tons of lobster and just the right amount of «salad.» Delicious and filling. For those who like their lobster rolls more plain, they do have a naked lobster roll. Wife had the summer special, pan seared scallops over mushroom risotto. She raved about it! The kids had their usual: chicken fingers off the children’s menu. Both were quietly and happily eating w/o whining, a sure sign they loved their meals! Final note about the service. We made a reservation on Open Table and our table was ready when we arrived(and the place was definitely full). I wish I could remember our waitress’s name since she was fantastic. No frills, just attentive, friendly service. Not once did we have to wonder where she was, nor did we feel rushed. Nice to see after a rather slow experience at the Barking Crab in Boston a week earlier. Overall, we will definitely be back. There is lot more on the menu we want to try. I highly recommend this restaurant for those looking for a casual atmosphere with friendly service and fresh food. And on the way out, be sure to grab some«Happy Pickles» from the deli(especially the«angry» ones). They’re great, as well!

Really solid hole-in-the wall seafood restaurant. This is not fancy by any means, but they serve a wide range of fresh fish, crustaceans and bivalves and even have a decent sushi section to compliment it. The sushi chef is good, and has special items such as hamachi Kama if you ask. Fresh ginger and decent wasabi are nice, and they carry some good salmon and hamachi, in particular.

I liked this place. This is the place you go to get lobster without all the linen tablecloth fanfare and high prices at other places. Had a 3.5 lb lobster with clams and corn. Enjoyable.

came to the area on business, was thrilled to find out that I could get fried clams(whole belly!), clam chowda and lobster rolls! Both times, the orders were ‘to-go’. first night, they were out of fried clams, so I went with steamers, chowda and a naked lobster roll. YUM! everything was DELICIOUS! second night, I got my fried clams and a couple of clam cakes… again, PERFECT! if only they had one of these in atlanta *sigh* will surely be back when i’m in the area again.

Alaskan Seafood Soup was delicious. Light cream and the seafood was fresh and the soup wasn’t salty, seasoned light cream broth. I would definitely order that again. My entrée which was the Lobster Cobb Salad was just ok. The lobster was ver fresh however the two large tomatoes weren’t ripe and some of the lettuce was if poor quality. The price was good -$ 16, since it was a fair amount of lobster. My mom ordered the Baked Haddock with shrimp salsa, baked potato and steam cauliflower and squash. It was horrible. Fish over cooked to the point of crumbling and the potato was dried up. We had to send the entire meal back and she ended up with a bowl of the Alaskan Seafood soup. Lesson learned, only order the items with the stars which are the house specials.

Being a resident of Mansfield, MA — I have come to Fresh Catch restaurant many times. Sadly — the quality of the food has taken a decline in recent visits — especially anything fried. We use to go there to experience incredible seafood prepared in a variety of ways and normally left not disappointed. The Sushi has always been consistent and tasty — as well as the whole lobster(especially when there is a special going on). However, some of the classic fried dishes have take a nose dive… The Fried dishes are over coated, greasy and not well prepared. We tried it a second time, thinking the first experience was a fluke, but the second time even worse. We had to return it and go back to the reliable items — like the Bento Boxes, Sushi, boiled lobster or something grilled — not fried. My opinion is there appears to be new cooks that prepare food like fast service and not quality service — or people that truly understand how to serve seafood. We use to enjoy the fish and chips, fried scallops or the«captains plate» — but no more. Until the quality improves — stay away from the fried fish dishes. Fresh Catch is known for fresh and quality seafood in particular — which is still true. But the kitchen staff butchers it when they fry it. Hey guys, ease up on the coating, come up with something lighter that highlights the fish — not the greasy breading that you are currently using — bring the love back! Still a good place to eat — but certainly has declined in recent months. Sadly — will be going to other places after our recent experiences. I don’t know if the owner are cutting costs and got rid of their past cooks — but the plates are getting smaller and prices are going up.

Found the place using Unilocal and glad I stopped in. Eat at the bar with a friendly and helpful bar tender. Had whole belly claims which are my New England favorite then had the baked seafood with a Caesar salad, they didn’t charge for the salad because I did not have the potatoes or veggies. Place serves everything from lobster to sushi, great find. Very casual setting

I knew I wanted to stop into Fresh Catch the first time I drove by and saw the sign. It said something like«Twin Lobster Special $ 18», and as simple as that phrase is, it caught my attention! My fella has always liked a little lobster for dinner on his birthday, so I stopped by Fresh Catch for the first time on my way home a few weeks ago. I headed to the counter and perused the offerings. PEI Mussels? Check. Thick slabs of marbled rib eye? Check. Three sizes of lobster at low market prices, live and fresh and out of sight? Check, check, check. I brought home some lobsters in a paper bag, and ended up being a little creeped out by them… luckily, I had some help! I called in some man hands to get the squirmy little monsters out of the bag and in the water. Twelve minutes later, voila! Instagram worthy birthday dinner. Weekend before last, we were running errands in our neighborhood when lunchtime came, so we stopped into Fresh Catch for lunch. We had two wonderful bowls of soup– NE Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque, respectively, followed by a BIG salad for me, and an ahi tuna steak sandwich for him. Everything we ordered was good, but man, did I feel like a sucker when I saw the 2 ½ lb stuffed lobster which was that day’s special being carted out for another patron! Lesson learned: Come back often, and always ask what the special is!

We found this place here on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. The lobster croissant was fresh, tasty and priced well. Don’t be turned off by the location The clam chowder was ok… All in all, a good place to have good food
