Decided to give this place another chance after a horrible experience last time. We walk into a half empty restaurant and we’re told it would be a 15 min wait. No thanks, I’d rather go to a restaurant where the managers actually run their shift instead of the employees. It’s sad because the food is good, the service is just awful!

First time to eat in Mansfield and I loved it! Our server, Greg I think, was awesome. Super attentive took the time to tell me all about the restaurant. We got the spinach dip which was super cheesy and delicious. I made my own small pizza with meats and pineapples and it was so good. Even the small pizzas are big. I ate one slice and took the rest home for later! When I come back to visit my friends I will be back! Cute place with a fun ambiance. The manager even came by to tell us about this survey to get $ 5 off. Great experience and I’ll be back!

Returned to the Mellow Mushroom for the first time after their grand opening weekend. We are huge fans of Mellow Mushroom and have been to several locations but had a horrible experience on our first visit. From the moment we walked in, we could tell this location had significantly improved. We were greeted with a smile and accommodated to seats we requested. Our server, CHRIS, at the bar was fun, full of energy, and confident that we were going to have a great experience. His recommendations were on point as far as craft beer and cocktails. We had our favorite stuffed Portobello which is a must at this restaurant and a couple of pizzas. The food was fabulous. Andrew, the manager along with other employees came by and visited with us as well. We knew there had been a change in management and it truly shows!!! If you were disappointed when it first opened, please, please give it another shot! You won’t be disappointed. The décor filled with art pieces from local Mansfield artists was a pleasant surprise. THUMBSUP!!! Well done guys… WEWILLDEFINITELYBERETURNING.

We finally returned to the Mellow Mushroom after a horrible experience the first week they were opened. Our pizza and server Chris more than made up for the prior experience! We had the House Special and Mellowterranean. Both were yummy. Chris was a funny, attentive waiter! We are big MM fans and will be back.(Awesome décor and metal work btw)

Madison took great care of us on our last visit. Made us feel at home and gave us a tour of the menu and all her favorite recommendations. We will definitely be back to see her. Thanks Madison for the great service!

The atmosphere is very nice, was looking forward to experiencing the Mansfield location because we had a great visit at the Arlington Mellow Mushroom. The food was disappointing, the pizza crust was burnt and the pizza lacked flavor. The salad came with sad croutons and wasn’t fresh. We won’t be visiting this location anymore.

Our dad is in the hospital right now. We came around 8:30pm, and were placed in the bar area with Amber. She was really sweet and cheerful, and made suggestions for drinks and food when we asked. Great service. Fun steampunk inspired décor. Wonderful relaxed vibe– which was exactly what we needed after a highly emotional couple of days. They let us take our time eating and didn’t rush us out at closing. Drinks and food were wonderful. We loved the Holy Shiitake pie. And my sister loved the veggie burger. We will definitely become regulars here. First impression was excellent!!!

Let me start off saying that Mellow Mushroom has very good pizza. I’ve never had any bad food there. The problem is how long it takes to get your food(almost an hour this past time on a Monday night at 5:30) and the very poor service. Wait staff just doesn’t seem to care. Reading the reviews it appears that I’m not alone in this feeling. Come on Mellow Mushroom lets get it together. You could be a great addition to downtown Mansfield.

Just left there with plans to never return. Service was terrible, waitress showed no interest in our party of 6. Childs plate came out WAY before our order and was so hot I can only assume they bring it out that early so it has time to cool off since the Pizza took FOREVER to come out and the shrimp were terrible, I’m pretty sure they were hanging out in the back in a dehydrator or perhaps they were left over from last night. I’m only giving it a 2 because the décor is cool to look at and you have time to study each piece intricately while waiting for your food.

Family and I went to MM-M about 6:30pm Sunday August 23rd, this was our first visit to MM — Mansfield or otherwise. We were greeted immediately and seated nearby. «MJ» almost immediately approached our table and asked about drinks and appetizers, made a suggestion to order the«Enlightened Spinach Salad» and proceeded to get our drinks. Drinks arrived shortly. While MJ was serving the drinks, he answered some additional questions and made some additional suggestions. My wife had the Moscato Martini — it was great. When I tried it I thought I would just about drink it gone for her! So, since we hadn’t been to a MM previously and we hadn’t eaten all day, we decided to try a couple of different items and share a little back in forth. We ordered the ‘lil tossed salad, the Enlightened Spinach Salad(but subbed Romaine for Spinach and Balsamic for the Herbal Dressing), a Medium/Small Pizza, the Pretzels(combo of all three and paid $ 1.50 for the Beer Cheese Sauce), the Mushroom Soup, and a ½ hoagie(Philly Cheese Steak) — which came with a bag of chips. The salads were really great and also well presented — the Enlightened(Romaine) Salad was especially good. The pretzels were also very good, we received a side of mustard, pizza sauce and the Beer Cheese Sauce. Meh — the Beer Cheese sauce neither tasted like Beer or Cheese! It was a uninspired sauce, with just a hint of garlic to it — other than that is had absolutely no distinguishable flavor. We actually asked MJ what it was, just to confirm that it was the Beer Cheese sauce … We don’t know what it might taste like normally, but we will not be ordering it again — especially to have paid a small amount extra($ 1.50) for it. The Cinnamon pretzel was«off the chart» good. The mushroom soup was great — wife and I both enjoyed it. I had issues with the big pieces of sautéed mushrooms floating in the soup — loved the soup broth/base/sauce — just a texture thing of the mushroom chunks. Easy issue to resolve — she ate the mushrooms with a little bit of the sauce and I mainly ate the sauce. When the pizzas came out with the ½ hoagie, all smelled wonderful and the pizza racks already on the tables were a great help to eliminate crowding. Both pizzas were very good and the toppings were fresh and appropriate. I didn’t really care for the sauce itself — too dark for one thing and a little of a «off» taste to it. Couldn’t really identify what it was that wasn’t quote right for me, but something about the pizza sauce wasn’t all that good. Kids loved the pizzas and what they didn’t eat at MMs. they finished on the ride home. Wife thought the pizza was good as well. I ate the ½ Philly hoagie, which has plenty of meat, cheese, onions and peppers and was cooked just right, served on a French roll. The meat was a tad dry for my taste — just a tad. We brought the«Boulder Brand» Malt Vinegar and Sea Salt chips home as we were quite full and we’ll eat those guys gone tomorrow. Our tea glasses were refilled throughout and MJ was extremely personable and knowledgeable. MJ is a true asset to this restaurant. Food service was a little slower than we anticipated. We arrived at 6:30pm and we were not finished with dinner until almost 8pm with perhaps 20 persons in the restaurant at any time. The food seemed to come out a little slower than MJ was expecting as well… just an observation. Restrooms are well designed and clean. The décor is excellent. Enjoyed the historical plaque near the front door and all the Mansfield items throughout the restaurant. Very interested in booking a event in their round dining area with the steel barn style doors and loads of windows. So — when I started this review out, I was thinking of 4.5 stars and of course you can’t do a ½ star, so it was going to post 4 stars, due to the pizza sauce, the kitchen speed, the beer cheese sauce, and such. But I’ve managed to convince myself to go the other way — post 5 stars and indicate it is really about 4.5 stars. The speed of the food service and the Beer Cheese sauce being by main issues. We also noticed they have a outdoor stage and offer some bands on Friday and Saturday evenings. Wife and I will have to make a point of coming out for one evening soon. Perhaps when«3 Fools on 3 Stools» plays. If this is the Tommy Alverson group of 10+ years ago, we used to enjoy them at Texana Grill near the Parks Mall and wouldn’t mind hearing them again.

My family ate here for the first time tonight and it is AMAZING! I had the Enlightened Spinach Salad and it tasted so wonderful, especially with the Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing! My daughter had the tossed salad with ranch dressing and really loved it. My husband ordered the hummus appetizer and we also ordered the pretzels. Unfortunately, the pretzels didn’t come out until after our pizza. But the server was kind enough to take the pretzel off the ticket, and I would have gladly paid for it! What delicious appetizers, and by the time we finished all of that, we had almost no room for pizza! But our server, Aaron, brought out the pizza and it smelled so cheesy and delicious! The pizza was so tasty– the crust was soft and easy to chew with a wonderful wheat flavor. The sauce wasn’t overpowering and the cheese wasn’t excessive! The restaurant is so eclectic and unique! The décor was steam punk and the entire restaurant was fun! My favorite dish was the Enlightened Spinach Salad. One more thing– thank you to our server Aaron! We told him it was our first time at the Mellow Mushroom and he made the experience great!

I really like Mellow Mushroom, but I’m beginning to think their service is slipping. We went to the Mansfield location on a Saturday around 1:30 and waited for what seemed like a prolonged period of time for our food. The pretzels were out of this world; the pizza not so much. The inside of this place looks incredible and was very clean and spacious. Getting inside from the parking lot behind the building was a bit awkward. Competition in the pizza business is fierce; surely we must have gone on a bad day? I gave our waitress my debit card in the black folder with our ticket; she brought it back without ever running my card. I went to sign the ticket, but there was no ticket to sign! I thought I was losing my mind. I finally had to go hunt down our waitress to fix this so we could get outta there. C’mon now people, pay attention. I think I’ll stick to the Arlington location. If you want a good pretzel, this is your place.

This may be my favorite mellow mushroom as far as environment. Really large location with aesthetically pleasing/unique/industrial décor. We went for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Were seated promptly & greeted by our waiter right away. Our waiter was Willie & he was probably one of the best waiters I’ve had anywhere in a long time. He was friendly, outgoing & incredibly personable. We ordered a couple drinks, the stuffed portobello mushroom(delicious) and the buffalo chicken pizza(personal fave). Why not 5 stars? Our appetizer took a little while to come out, it was out maybe 5 minutes before our pizza. So, the timing just needs a little work. Also, the drink menu needed updating — the first 2 beers I tried to order were no longer available.

All the locations are unique and this one has a gear/metal thing going on. It’s one of my favorites decoration wise. The food is always consistent and I don’t know what they do to their crust, but I could eat it for days. We always get the Gourmet White and wings. My only complaint is when you order an app and the pizza at the same time they tend to come out at the same time.

First of all, I LOVE Mellow Mushroom as an overall chain. I am used to very good to excellent service and good/very good food quality. But for the Mansfield, TX location — I will NEVER return! We(party of 2) went in at 2:45 pm on a Saturday. There were maybe 10 total tables being served and also a large kids birthday party. It looked to us that the party had already been served their pizzas so no problem.(uh wrong) Ok hostess seated us on the patio(our request) and had menus but no beer/drink menu. When I asked our waitress if they had something specific on tap rather than saying oh let me get you the drink menu, she said«I’ll check» and nothing more. My wife ordered a lil’ spinach salad & ½ avocado hoagie, I ordered a house calzone(mozzarella, tomato, button mushrooms, & spinach) with portobellos added. We got out drinks(2 waters and my angry orchard) fairly promptly… And then we waited, and waited, and waited… 30 min after ordering we flagged our waitress down and asked where is my wife’s salad — got an «oh sorry». It came out 5 min later but no dressing. She left before we could get that fixed, but flagged her down again to resolve. Finally the hoagie and calzone arrived(10 min later). Wife’s hoagie was ok… My calzone had like 3 slices of tomato, a few button mushrooms, maybe the same amount of portabello, but NO spinach, all that I found when I cut into it. And it was just barely warm. I, of course, had to go inside the dinning room — no manager in sight — to flag down my waitress, told her the problem, got a «sorry», then I told her better not charge me for extra topping at least. And that’s exactly what I got. No extra charge for one topping but also no visit from the manager, no other comp to correct the issues. We promptly paid and left… Never again for that location. NEVER! UPDATE — One day after posting this review and providing feedback on the Mellow Mushroom website, I received an e-mail from this location’s owner requesting further information such that«…I can coach to better service in the future.» I provided additional details in a follow-up email to the location owner. While I still cannot revise my overall rating to anything but 1-star, I am hopeful that the owner will listen to the input provided and work to improve the quality of service at this newer location.

We went here on a weeknight and there was no dinner wait. The place is decorated in cool gears and has a very unique theme. We had a shrimp pizza, and our waiter was super funny and helpful. There beer selection was amazing! Including many local Texas beers and even a beer from San Diego. The pizza was great, and our spinach salad was good, but smaller than we expected for a $ 9 regular salad.

Amazing pizza! The uniqueness of the pizza was something of its own! Full of flavor, not to greasy and just the right amount of food. The reason I give it 3⁄5 stars is the service. While our server was really nice(almost too nice as if it was scripted) but man was it slow. The pizza took 25 minutes or so to arrive, which was okay because I know they’re made from scratch. We ordered a salad for an appetizer that came about 15 minutes later. When the guy arrived to drop it off he literally dropped it on the table and said SALAD really aggressively. Sorry for ordering a salad I guess. When it came time to check out it took 30 minutes! That’s not an exaggeration. Don’t go there if you’re in a hurry!

The food is a slightly overpriced for the uninspiring pizza that is served at Mellow Mushroom. There are far too many great pizza places that will deliver for Mellow Mushroom to be serving a mediocre product to the patrons. The pizza is also very greasy. The parking lot is behind the building and the front faces main street so if it is raining, bring your umbrella because it isn’t even possible to be dropped off at the front. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny for portions that may leave you still ordering a pizza when you get home!

First of all, beautiful building in a pretty good location. I’m looking forward to someone taking it over and giving Mansfield something we can really be proud of. Quick fixes, put some decent shades on those windows — evening sun is blinding everyone! Also train your staff not to answer menu questions with«ummmm I think???»! If you love dough upon dough upon more dough with a thin layer of toppings, followed by more doughy something and maybe ever a pretzel made out of the same dough, then this place if for you! Meaty pizza was the best thing ordered. Thai pizza(I know it’s crazy thinking) was disgustingly sweet with paper thin«chicken». Steak&cheese calzone had about the same amount of «steak» as a frozen steakum. Icing on the cake is it takes an unreasonable amount of time to get your order. Bottom line — I love pizza, and dining out especially in Mansfield if possible, and I’ll never ever go back to Mellow Mushroom.
